Toyota Starlet GT / Glanza TD04 conversion guide - What you need and how to do it: Part 2 of 3

- This is my TD04 setup on my Starlet GT, this guide will show you what parts you need to do it, information on them and a guide to how it alll goes together.
My setup is a TD04 using a RRFPR with Greedy FCD running 1 bar with a Toyosports TD04 manifold and Decat. Video is in three parts, the first explaining what mods you need and what they do, the 2nd vid shows what the mods look like and how they fit onto the car, and finally the 3rd is on any custom work you need to do to turbo and HKS.
This section shows all the mods that you need in order to get a TD04 running and i will explain what they do and what they look like
@yb600whp Car is going really well, no problems with the toyosports kit. Rollin roaded the bayboy at 201bhp the other day at 0.86bar so chuffed, it flys!

Hi, all meshing the turbo is literally getting a mesh and a jubilee clip and wraping it around the intake of the turbo to prevent any ingress of foreign objects which could damage it, doing the same as a mushroom filter does the same thing, just its cheaper :P
@yb600whp yeah its working well, taking it out on track now next month at Japfest 2, been busy working on the car, still need to get an oil cooler fitted though before i go!! and manifold is working well so far :)
@yb600whp Hi, yes your right, there is alot of weight from the exhuast system and turbo hanging off the manifold. I havent had it done yet but you should get the decat pipe braced so you can screw it onto the engine block :)
Did you change the head gasket to a stronger one or just use the original?
@yb600whp Sorry misread your question, so far so good but i havent driven it hard on track yet, so will let you know how i get on!
where did you buy the turbo from i want to buy the exact right one
great videos mate, doing the same thing idea as you. where did u ge the alloy rad? do u know what the standard td04 boost is?

how has the toyo sports manifold held up?
i herd the s/s ones crack but the mild steel versions are o.k?
Standard one is fine for up to 200hp go metal if your going any higher.
What are the torque specs when tightening the bolts

All you did was add a FCD to the stOck ecu ?
+James O Connor You need to add a fuel pressure regulator as well to the fuel rail, boost was turned up to 1bar and then put on rolling road to set fuel pressure correct so it wouldnt run lean with increased boost pressure. Its a crude way to do it but works, the alternative is to put a piggy back ecu on and then get it mapped. What ever happens any extra power added you have to get the fueling checked.

Full cut defender is just a band aid for the ecu.. stupid really
