    Love this build. This is one of the only builds running the higher velocity inlet manifold. This suits the larger turbo your running.
    Have replaced the inlet camshaft for the 4efte.

    • @dan91sgarage
      @dan91sgarage  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks, I think the increase in gas flow at lower rpm deffo helped spool the TD04. Unfortunatley I never got the chance to swap in a 4efte inlet cam. From the research I have done they have almost 1mm extra lift?

    • @ChristopherIreland-q1s
      @ChristopherIreland-q1s 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @dan91sgarage yep, the 4efe inlet camshaft is the item that's holds of all the 4efe builds under 90hp. The 4efte inlet camshaft does deliver a big hit of torque around 4,000rpm. Such a shame about your build.
      One of the best alround builds I've seen. Alot of additional tunning in there.
      I'm just converting a ae100 corrola 4efe to a 4efte gen 1 tdo4l 13t build.
      Stage1 will be fit the turbo kit.
      This will be using the t-vis dual ported inlet manifold from the mr2 mk1 4age. And a masive 80mm mitsubishi galant 2lt 1990 throttle body.
      Fantastic build BTW. Keep up the great work, and some quality work.

      I'm thinking of trying out the det3+ I've always used aem piggybacks.
      If I could get your email address for a base map till it goes on the dyno, plus any extra help. Of course I would pay you for the base map.

    Great job! I want to put a Civic water cooling radiator in my E11 Corolla with 4efte engine. I know I have to move the lower water exit from the right to the left to align with the Toyota standard. I also need to make brackets. What do you suggest? Thank you.

    • @dan91sgarage
      @dan91sgarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Start by measuring the height of the front area the radiator will fit into. On the Starlet the mounting brackets you can buy bolt to the bottom of the front cross member and off the top of the slam panel. You might be able to weld / rivnut the Starlet brackets to the corolla. To be honest all you need is 2 x L brackets for the bottom mounting posts and a flat smetal bracket to hold the top post. All with rubber grommets to line the metal so it doesn't damage the radiator.

      The test drive video is coming up soon. The TD04 does have water cooling ports on it however I have chosen not to use them and just let the oil cool and lubricate it. In its original position on the subaru engine it is very close to the engine and gets very little air around it. Mine is positioned right in the air flow from the grille so it should be cooler in general.

    hey, may i ask why you have the corolla manifold instead of the stock one?
    does it have better air flow?

    • @dan91sgarage
      @dan91sgarage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This video explains it best: th-cam.com/video/K1P0p1oVzcs/w-d-xo.html
      I found it had better low down torque and pulled to the redline better. The stock 4efe manifold was strangled at about 4500rpm.
      The corolla manifold is the best bang for buck power mod for an EP91 N/A 4efe. It is also the best all round performance charachteristics for EP91 4efe + Turbo builds.
      Over 150bhp turbo = 4efte inlet manifold and 50mm Throttle body.
      In my opinion.

    question. i have a problem with my own starlet. the fuel cut is going crazy and im new to the det 3 and tuning in general, i dont no how to fix it, when its on vacuum it run great but when the turbo starts making boost it immediately runs super lean, as far as i know its a fuel cut problem. can you help me out, love the vids. keep it up, cheers

    • @dan91sgarage
      @dan91sgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Did you replace the 4efe 1 bar map sensor in the engine bay with a 2 bar Glanza map sensor? Or do you have the Det3 + with the built in 4 bar map sensor? You can't use the 4efe 1 bar map sensor with boost. What injectors are you using?

    • @morrisoo543
      @morrisoo543 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dan91sgarage im using the det 3+ sensor, and Toyota paseo injectors (225cc), i’m probably upgrading to 325cc. What it does with 2000 rpm in vacuum its running Good but a bid rich, but when the turbo starts making boost , only 0.10 bar it immediately runs lean and bogs out, also i dont have the ignition wires plug in the det 3, cheers

    • @dan91sgarage
      @dan91sgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@morrisoo543 Ok, if you're using the internal 4 bar sensor you need to set the Setup tables to Modify= Analogue in #2, Load= Analogue in #2. This will then use the inbuilt 4 bar map sensor. The 225cc injectors are too small you need the Glanza 295cc injectors or about that size. I haven't tried your setup but you will most likely have to add a lot of voltage in the det 3 fuel table and it will still run lean. If the det 3 output you send to the toyota ecu is close to 5 volts, the Toyota ecu it will perform boost cut (feels like a rev limiter). Definitely get bigger injectors as they won't fuel enough for boost. Also you shouldn't drive in boost without the ignition wires intercepted as you will need to retard the ignition in the det 3 on boost or the engine can be damaged.

    • @dan91sgarage
      @dan91sgarage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@juansantamaria1480 Wow! that will be a nightmare. If its a 3 plug 4efte ecu, you will need the 4efte engine wiring loom and the "under dash" loom from the donor car. 4efte distributor, ignitor/coil pack, knock sensor, throttle body with TPS, inlet manifold with idle control valve...etc. Unless you can harvest all the parts from a donor car it will take a long time to find all the bits. And the 4efte ECU is setup to run a factory 4efte with low compression pistons, not a 4efe with high comp so the timing may not be safe anyway. Better off with a det3+ or go full standalone with new engine loom in my opinion.

    • @dan91sgarage
      @dan91sgarage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@juansantamaria1480 Don't think you'll need the under dash loom. The wiring loom plugs you have might fit the ECU but the wires will be in the wrong place. The ECU will still need the engine loom and 4efte sensors / distributor setup to run. Still a nightmare to find the parts and rewire the plugs.
