Neither of these are healthy either. Outside removing animal proteins they offer no real benefit. Not 100% sure of the calorie count but still.....not healthy. A California Veggie Burger isn't meant to be a replacement one-to-one for a real burger but from a health standpoint it's excellent and made from whole foods.

No animals harmed huh? I would suggest some research on that subject. All of the empirical data shows that to be false ! 2019 year of the ex vegan!!! No animals harmed!! Lol!
I want to be healthier, I'm a bit conscience of my meat eating and the impact it has on the planet, so I'm def. willing to stop eating meat as long as I can find a company that delivers something that's tasty, healthy and most importantly is just like meat (without it actually being meat). I'm going to give beyond meat a try. Thanks for the upload. This has been a message from a black millennial living in UK.
You can get Beyond Meat in supermarkets in the UK. You just put your postcode on the website and it tells you where the nearest shop is or you can buy it online.
We even have the Beyond burger in South Africa 😊 it is DELICIOUS I love the way he said he thinks that plant based will be adopted in his lifetime. I never thought anyone would say that. So awesome 👍😊
Considering that eating plants directly is more efficient from an agricultural point of view... If they perfect the taste a little bit more and get supply chains in order... This could be cheaper than actual meat.
I'm willing to drop meat for more environmentally safe alternatives. $5.99 for 2 patties is too steep though. If the prices drop and the flavors are there I'm pretty sure most will be willing.
You dont need to buy processed vegan meat substitutes. If you want to drop meat but you live on a budget you can easily get all your nutrients from a whole foods plant based diet whitch is way cheaper than meat ;)
@@tmastersat So instead you suggest eating cow flesh that is fed entirely on the kind of plants that you are worried about. Red meat is a probable carcinogen according to the WHO.

chopped oaster Mushrooms, spelt flour, onions powder, oregano, Cayenne, cherry tomatoes, thyme, sea salt, grape seed oil, spring water. Mix it all up make little balls burgers sized and flatten them and fried with grape seed. And my friend you will have a delicious Alkaline Burger... Without the extra unnecessary Franken lab stuff.
Meat alternatives are where it's at!! Delicious food that doesn't hurt animals, is better for the planet, and better for our health. What a time to be alive!!
The burgers patties are good and I like how they cook like meat. However, I would caution the other stuff that goes on a burger. Being and going "vegan" is very popular and the food companies know this. We might not be eating meat but the white bun, processed cheese (which usually isn't vegan), ketchep and all of that is the lease healthy part of the burger. I just want to caution to people that just because something isn't made from an animal means it's healthy in the context of what you eat it in.
Beyond Meat and Impossible Burgers are not health food. Neither is the cow flesh version. But if you are going to eat a burger, the plant based version will be much better for the environment, the animals, and a bit better for you. Search TH-cam to find out how to make healthier oil free burgers. Personally, I prefer a portobello mushroom replacement for a burger.
Why is everyone spreading lies on youtube, I've tried both beyond burgers and impossible burgers, these burgers are anything but delicious or tasty unless you have absolutely no taste buds or have been eating tasteless foods all your life.
If Beyond Meat uses 99% less water , 93% less land, and nearly 50% less energy, then why does it cost 2 to 4 times as much as beef? I would love a more sustainable burger at a comparable, dare I say lower, price given the claims that production uses significantly fewer resources.
I work in a stadium party suite kitchen and we had some of that "Impossible Burger" and non of us could tell that it was not real beef (tasted, smelled, and felt like real ground beef). Only problem was it is vary $$ so we couldn't keep it as a regular item currently.
Conscious and healthy eating should be the future not quite veganism... how it is like today at least. I am on a plant based diet but still these burgers are not that convincing for me to switch for eating grinded trees just because I am not eating meat and other animal products. It's just a change from worst to worse. For me even if it tastes nice it's not an option. Though I am not against of anybody who taste it and like it. If you eat it, enjoy! 👍
I love the beyond burger so much 😍 I wish you could buy it in a normal supermarket in Germany 😢 It‘s only available in a few restaurants in the whole country
"Taking over beef" .... ARE YOU DRUNK ? Gaining in popularity maybe, but it is NOT taking over, and never will. It's just a novelty that some people might like for a while, but most who try it will just go back to beef eventually. Now is it better than McDonald's dry tasteless cardboard patties ? How can it not be? Even dry, tasteless cardboard is better. So, given a choice, even though I never tried one, I'd take a beyond beef burger over McD's any day ! Out of curiosity, I will try BK's impossible burger, and I might even like it for what it is, but it will not take over beef....EVER ! Now don't get me started on how bad the Whopper sucks now compared to the past, so it is "possible" that the "impossible" burger will be better. But knowing how far the quality at BK, McDonald's, Wendy's, etc.have fallen, they will just let them sit around forever drying out, and getting cold, and ruin them too.
I think that less meat consumption will increase. Young people will live longer and will have fewer health issues if they adopt a Vegan diet. They will experience less arthritis, obesity, heart disease, constipation, etc. Veganism, isn't just driven by a save the planet mentality. It's a combination of new ideas that add up to a different environment and a different society. After 50 years of trying I finally found the courage to go Vegan.
Turned Vegan last year right before Thanksgiving! Thanks to Plant based products it has been incredibly easy!!! Oat milk, avocado butter, beyond burgers, just eggs, gardein crab cakes, fish fillets, and meatloaf all incredible!
I worked at Carl's Jr. in 10th grade, and I loved their Famous Star. I became vegetarian in August 1991 when I was making hamburgers for a family bbq and when I was trying to wash the meat from between my fingers, I just started examining it. I had the epiphany that it was the flesh of another being, and I don't think I enjoyed that final hamburger (if I even ate it). Over the years I could smell the grilled meat when driving by Carl's Jr., and it's one of the few things I missed about meat. I don't even think it was that I missed the meat itself, but more the fulfilled feeling after eating it. Ordering a hamburger with the 'burger' on the side (for my dogs) and stuffing my french fries in the bun in its place was ok, but this is a game-changer. The next time I'm near a Carl's Jr. I will check out their vegan options!
If i were to eat heavily process plant based burger, i might as well eat the veg as is it. But i dont think anything can replace the looks of a well marbled piece of steak. Is surprised that when GMO veg came out, everyone starts to protest of it as cancer-causing. But when lab-made meat came about, people dont seem to bother so much.
spu3 beyond meat isn’t supposed to be healthy. and are you saying real burger meat is better for your long term health? because that just ain’t the case fam
Really happy what this guy is doing for the planet. Not only creating a healthier product that will reduce todays heart disease epidemic but also cut down on the mass slaughtering of animals. I have been eating meat my whole life and just recently started eating a plant based diet. I feel amazing. These burgers are amazing. Keep up the good work Beyond Meat!!
I was working at a Whole Foods near Boston and when we first got the Beyond Meat two packs, that company had people come in to cook it and sample it a few summers ago and I have to say I was totally sold on their burgers!!……BIG TIME!!!!!! I have yet to try out this Impossible Burger, but can not wait to give it a shot. Beyond Meat has also been making some great crumbles that are great for tortillas, tacos, and burritos.
The video and comments saying it's just like a real burger sound like absolutely crazy talk for me. The Beyond Burger has some visual texture that could resemble a burger. When you bite into it though there is not much reminding you of eating meat. The actual texture is too soft and the fibres you can see can hardly be felt (if at all). There is almost no flavor, the only thing you get is a hint of a flavor that ends in this weird funky aftertaste. It's not a strong flavor/aftertaste but it put me off it. If you like your burgers doused in spice this may pass. For me though it's a no go, I ate one and threw out the other one.
I’m going to try for the first time tonight! I got the two patties for $5.99, same price as the two beef patties I got for my husband. Went to Whole Foods :)
Shhhhh....They don't want us to notice that they're building a fake narrative. Eventually they'll say we're "clamoring" for fake, laboratory-made meats and that "big meat" is trying to shut them down.
QB When in reality that is what Big Carb is trying to do to farmers and ranchers. It’s just another attempt to create a fake demand for a fake product. Fake fake fake fake FAKE. This garbage is to meat as Cheez Whiz is to cheese. #RealMeatOrNothing
Yes, it is. Any person who understands trends can see that. The same way people were skeptical of plant-based milks 10 years ago and today the industry is gigantic and has 14% of overall sales of milks worldwide. Every single meat distributor has some kind of project to sell plant-based meats: Tyson, JBS, etc they already have some products in that line. For anyone who can read understands that we have a clear trend of disruption in this segment. Things won't stay the same in the Guterres future.
@@quinton01 Lab made meat is not fake. Its identical to animal meat. This beyond burger is fake, it has no resemblance to actual meat and contains none of the necessary nutrients.
You actually get more "burger" from Beyond's than a real one. Pricing is based on weight and with real burgers much of what you cook drains as fat so the size shrinks as you cook. With Beyond what you pay for isn't really lost in the cooking process so it evens out. A real burger can shrink by close to a 1/3.
I used to own cows but I am a free market kind of guy. This is genius. If you look at it from an unemotional standpoint, cows are an incubator for meat. If you can go from the plant to meat without the cow, that is a much more efficient process , especially if it can be done without a higher cost. Beyond meat is coming out as an ipo. Once it is available for the public, I’m buying tons of this stock. This is the future. People want “greener” technology, and the emerging world is now eating steak at an exponential rate.
I've eaten hamburgers all my life. Johnny Rockets, McDonalds, Burger King, Shake Shack you name it, I've had it. After I heard all this commotion about plant-based meat I was extremely skeptical because I always sought that vegan options have some kind of rubbery taste and don't pack any proteins. Like why eat a salad with only a measly 90 calories when you can have a juicy burger and feel good? Or so I thought. Ran into Carl's Junior and after seeing that they sold a beyond meat burger I was like sure why not? I'm the type of person to try anything once. And to my surprise, the Beyond Meat Burger tasted just like a normal Carl's Junior burger, that I wondered whether or not they even got my order right. If you blindfolded me right now and gave me both burgers I would not be able to tell the difference. Keep in mind I have the sharpest taste buds I can tell coke from Pepsi, burgers from different restaurants just from the taste. It's crazy how little difference there was, and how far technology has come. Definitely see this growing in the future except they need to cut the cost down which is an important step but that can be changed as people transition.
What makes you classify Beyond Meat as sustainable? They are the product of entirely unsustainable monocrop agriculture that could not exist without fossil fuel derived fertilizer and ground water irrigation. Slow and steady destruction of top soil is the outcome. Ironically, the very top soil that is being destroyed is the product of eons of ruminant animals feeding on perennial grasses, and returning nutrients to the earth, in the most virtuous cycle that exists in nature - life. Truly sustainable meat, and dairy, is very simple: pastured, grass fed.

This is similar to the Donner party who resorted to cannibalism to survive. Until then, a whole food plant based diet is superior for health and longevity. BTW, a newly discovered plant source of significant amount of B12 has been discovered called Mankai duckweed. Links on request.
Beyond Burgers are delish! I actually don't even crave beef burgers anymore.
@Mikey G He's not wrong. There are many ways of getting a good source of iron, that doesn't include the consumption of animal/meat products.

Beyond Meat is surprisingly similar to a Impossible Burger. The Impossible Burger does taste a bit better, but it is generally served in restaurants, whereas Beyond Meat is available in supermarkets for people to cook for themselves at home.
Neither of these taste anything like more traditional veggie burgers, such as Boca and Morningstar.
Yeah they taste crap
Neither of these are healthy either. Outside removing animal proteins they offer no real benefit. Not 100% sure of the calorie count but still.....not healthy. A California Veggie Burger isn't meant to be a replacement one-to-one for a real burger but from a health standpoint it's excellent and made from whole foods.

We even have the Beyond burger in South Africa 😊 it is DELICIOUS
I love the way he said he thinks that plant based will be adopted in his lifetime. I never thought anyone would say that. So awesome 👍😊
He is a visionary and for the betterment of the world at large.
$5.99 is not expensive at all.
You dont need to buy processed vegan meat substitutes. If you want to drop meat but you live on a budget you can easily get all your nutrients from a whole foods plant based diet whitch is way cheaper than meat ;)

Mentally Ill vegan
Then us be as well and don't force your vegan diets on everyone.
Some Guy Yess oil free is so important. I see a lot more company’s now having oil free products!

When you bought the stock at $62 and sold at $180
Now that does make me angry that I didn't get in early .

These burgers are so amazing!
Those impossible burgers taste nothing like meat.

I used the meat crumbles in a chilli and NO ONE knew. Gone in like 2 days! This stuff is amazing!❤

XeserUpseinOPelttil BEYOND goes on sale often for 4.50 the website has coupons so it's 3.50
Aint no one going to "transition", bro.
This is amazing. To a cruelty-free, sustainable future for all life. ☺️
