- Little update walkaround/ rant about RB20/RB25 Turbos!
I blew 2 EMUSA 52/48 Turbo and got ahold of MaxpeedingRods and they hooked it up! Their turbo far superior turbo over EMUSA! On the EMUSA listing it says "direct drop in turbo" when thats clearly not the case! Had to drill and tap the oil feed, drill out the oil drain fitting to fit the bigger bolt, and had to cut off a stud off of the Manifold to fit the turbo! On MaxpeedingRods you dont have to do NONE of that!!

hey if your running the stock oil feed, it has a built in restrictor that needs to be removed for journal bearing turbos

How do you run 15 psi on stock ECU and stock everything besides FMIC and new turbo? Also has the turbo lasted? And finally, the only reason I'm asking is because I have an r32 GTST also and I'm trynna get a different turbo than the stock one and we have basically the same setup and I'm just wondering how everything is holding up
Everything is holding up. Everything else was stock
It's not the turbo, there is also a restrictor in the block or elsewhere, also blew my turbo twice and that was because the oil lines was not correct. User error. Once we got all that right the turbos was just fine and still good after couples years of use. From South africa.
Runs mint🤣 making it not stall is a matter of adjusting your bov, I have the same turbo on my stagea and you can make it run properly for real on a stock tune I would go above 8 ish psi tho.

looks also like the fact that the pcv system is just open completely with no catch can

How has this been lasting? We just had a car have some OEM turbo seals go bad so we're thinking of tossing a cheap replacement on. Curious how it's been.

Doing the same turbo swap, any problems with the water lines to turbo? One them is a bit short to mount
I got all the factory water lines to work did take some slight bending but they fit, would recommend putting them on before mounting the turbo to manifold
Fuck the iacv lol took me a whole year to figure out that it was causing problems
Did you port the maxspeedingrod’s wastegate? also do you by chance know what the wastegate spring pressure is set to out the box? Thanks for the video.

Just got an r33 gtst with a neo swap. Any tips on a drop in turbo? Or is the neo turbo stronger than previous rb models
