We had this delivered as Archie needed to stay at the hotel, we didn’t order the frosty as it would have melted by the time it arrived, but we did try them at Wendy’s in the UK! :)
It's okay, You shouldn't have to explain yourself to these people on why you didn't order frosties. They act like just because they like Wendy's frosties that you guys should have ordered them, and they act like it's a sin you didn't. You guys were on your vacation, do what you want and eat what you want, order what you want, not what everyone else things you should order, and call a chicken sandwich a chicken burger if you want to.
Now check out Wendy’s savage roasts.
Too bad the fries were likely very cold by the time it got there. :(
@@rmk2336 People probably didnt realize theyve already been to wendys and tried it. It is pretty sad to see someone cross the ocean just to go to places like Cracker barrel, dennys, wendys, applebees etc. You can vacation how you want but its like they went on a "worst of america" tour. Its like going to the UK and going to greggs, Franky and bennys, Taybarns and bella italia.
@@Forced2DoThis1 Right. I would have passed on ordering fries. they will be cold for sure with delivery. The Frosty on the other hand is super thick and frozen. It would have been nice to let it melt a bit in the delivery process. So I would have chosen the Frosty and not the fries for a delivery.
C'mon guys! You can't go to a Wendy's and NOT get a Frosty!!
Aren't they famous for their chili..?
@@fannybusterabsolutely not. Frosty.
I heard that the shakes at fast food places in the UK are soupy. A Frosty in the US should be thick
@@JustJayC I love their Chilli idc
@@fannybuster Their chili is really good!
just say, "add lettuce" when ordering and you'll get it the way you like it ... (don't say "add salad," they won't know what you're talking about!!) 😂
The double burger is the Baconator not the Dave’s double. The Dave’s double does come with Lettuce, tomatoes etc.
honestly get what you want on the dave's double: i usually have cheese, pickle, onion only
yeah he actually says Baconator in the beginning when he’s looking at the receipt, so i dunno 😂
Get the Big Bacon Classic with two patties.
@@SeenGodhe said baconator fries
@@TacomaGirl ah okay 👍
"Chicken burger" always triggers me because "hamburger"/"burger" refers to a Hamburg steak sandwich, with a Hamburg steak being ground/minced beef. Therefore, a "chicken burger" should be a Hamburg steak sandwich where the ground beef is replaced with ground chicken. These _do_ exist in grocery stores in the US.
Drives me nuts. 😂😂 I'm screaming at the screen "it's NOT A BURGER!" 😅😅😅
The 3rd burger you guys had wasn't a Dave's Double, it was a Double Baconator!
Went to Wendy's and didn't get a chocolate Frosty. That makes me sad.
They already tried it in the UK.
Here in the US we refer them as chicken sandwiches, unless the meat is ground up and formed into a patty then it becomes a chicken burger! Happy to see you guys made it to America keep up the good work!
The thing about any of these fast food places is that you can find one Popeyes with absolutely awesome food and the next one down the road may have terrible food. It’s got to do with how good the manager is and the people cooking the food. The McDonalds closest to my house is terrible so I travel 10 miles to the next one for awesome food made by caring employees. I tell them all the time how much I appreciate the care they take in making the food.
I agree, the manager plays a big part in the quality of the food and service!
yeah that’s so true, the Wendy’s near my house is garbage, nothing but hood-rats working there, but the McDonalds right next to it is awesome, open 24 hours, and they stay packed all day & night
@JaxNole61 exactly, I've been to a few where they haven't dropped and filtered the oil, or haven't changed it when they should have.
guess my reply got deleted, oh well 😂
That works if you live in the suburbs. If you live the country you take what you can get.
7:00. That was not a Dave's double you were holding in your hands, it was a Wendy's Baconator.
I think so.
Salad comes in a bowl 🥗 Lettuce 🥬 is what you put on your burger 🍔
They say things differently from other countries. Stop being an imbecile.
In America at least
It makes sense though. Basically salad….lettuce, tomato, cheese, mayo, etc.
The spicy chicken is my favorite at Wendy's it's awesome
You're right. It's still a solid choice.
I get the asiago one and swap the ranch for mayo......then it has cheese & bacon 🧀
@@jgieselerI'm 27 years old and I worked at Wendy's when I was 16. I remember the Asiago chicken sandwich being a hot new popular item. I used to drop fresh ones and take 2 home
Dave’s double usually comes with everything on it
The "Frosty" Milkshake Is The Best Thing On The Menu 😋
I've noticed that British People don't order a beverage with their meals ,these two at least bought 1 lemonade.Do Brits eat their food dry..?
And they didn't even dip their chicken nuggies in any sauce and were still raving. Imagine if they had something to dip them in!
When they do order beverages from American chains, they're always surprised at how big they are, so maybe some of them have gotten in the habit of not ordering beverages because they're overpriced for what they get where they're from. The Beesleys know by now how big our beverages are, so that's probably why they ordered just one to share.
@@MudderToad lol@nuggies. Is that baby talk for nuggets?
I love how you call them chips ❤️😭😂❤️❤️
You forgot the chocolate frosty! The apple pecan chicken salad is my favorite item on Wendy’s menu (with cheddar cheese substituted for the bleu cheese)
They already tried it in the UK.
I live in what we call MidTown. I walk down one block and there is a Place called, The Cheese Lady, they sell nothing but cheese, further down there is a Subway, Wendy's, Taco Bell, Checkers, KFC, just to name a few. In the other direction less than two blocks away there is a Farmer's Market, where I can purchase some great fresh fruits and veggies, oh yeah and the that's were I get my Food Truck burritos! Best of both worlds and I am grateful for the balance.
Dave’s double with cheese lettuce tomato and mayonnaise
We don't have southern fried nuggets. They're just seasoned. Southern fried is chicken parts, legs, thighs, wings and chicken breast all on the bone.
You can have Lettuce & Tomato put on ANY sandwich at Wendy's,, You just ask for it.
You know, you can ask for any additions that you want - rather it's on the menu or not - they will add it for you!!! Just something to think about the next time!!
And they will add lettuce and tomato to any sandwich without it for free. I always add lettuce to the Baconator
Whether*
Get Archie a small frosty. He will refuse to go home. Lol
You guys are exposing what a bunch of chow-hounds we Americans are 😂 we love our fast food🥰
So many British-isms. From salad (not a salad) to burger (not a burger) and more. Nuggets without a dipping sauce?
My favorite Wendy's order is a Cobb Salad, baked potato and large chilli. Or a Triple baconator add lettuce tomato onion (salad) if I'm feeling glutinous.
I used to be an assistant manager at Wendy's. I still love their burgers even after working there. They are always cooked fresh. At least they were when I worked there.
I used to work at Wendy’s. (Moons ago). I would take a chx nugget with a pickle and it was SO good! I still remember the order in which the burgers were assembled because we were trained that way. 😅
@@loulou0189 And mustard on the burgers directly, never on the bun. Lol
If you hold the burger in its wrapper it won't drip on you.
6:50 RIP Dave Thomas founded Wendy's and the restaurant is named after his daughter Wendy.
It's not a Chicken Burger. It's a Chicken Sandwich. A Chicken Burger is ground chicken formed in the shape of a hamburger.
While we are at it. The Nuggets you ate were naked. You should try dipping them in one of the sauces.
In North America we are big on seasoning and sauces
That's because half this country's palate is so broken, the only things that their tongue can register is "spicy".
Other countries, especially European, call all foods on burger buns burgers based on the thicker bread it's on, and a sandwich if it's on the thinner sandwich bread.
@@kevinfleming9919 and yet all those European countries would be wrong!!!
@@kevinfleming9919 Makes no sense since a "hamburger" is specifically a _Hamburg_ steak sandwich. It doesn't matter what bread you have it on. If it's not ground meat, it's not a Hamburg steak.
@@SmashPortal they aren't calling it a "hamburger", just a burger, and since a lot of companies sell the buns labeled "Burger Buns" , especially in other countries, and not hamburger buns then it makes sense, not to mention the fact that they aren't American and don't have to follow some Americans beliefs. Plus, since it's a European thing to call them "Chicken Burgers", "Turkey Burgers", "Pork Burgers" and whatever else, and the hamburger originated from the Hamburg Steak whixh came to us from Germany, a member of the European Union in the middle of Europe, they probably have it more correct than Americans to call it that. They don't have to live their lives in a way that makes you happy and can call it whatever they want.
My wife is a GM (general manager) of her place. We are looking into her own franchises. To own her own. My wife smiled at your reaction to the baconator fries and daves double. We are sending love and hugs from Ohio! I'm so glad I subscribed to you years ago. Always looking forward to your next post.
Just wanted to let u guys know that I love your channel !!! Keep up the good work !!
A chick fil a famous for a chicken sandwich does not sell burgers
Popeyes sells chicken sandwich but no burgers
Chick-fil-A in fact does sell burgers but only at one location
More than 75 years later, The Dwarf House continues to give customers a glimpse into the beginnings of the Chick-fil-A franchise, serving items from Truett's original menu (including hamburgers!) along with the Chick-fil-A menu
British people call anything on a bun a burger. What we call a chicken sandwich they call a chicken burger.
It's a Chicken burger sandwich actually. There's your answer. 😅
@@runrafarunthebestintheworld is a hotdog a sandwich? Or a burger? It's on a bun.
I have my answer but I'll wait.
The best part of Wendy's burgers, is that they aren't frozen. I know all fast food prices went up a lot in the last few years, but I feel like Wendy's went up more than average. You use to be able to get a double/fries/drink for under $10
Thanks for sharing! So glad you had a great time in the US and hope you’ll be back soon. Take care everyone!!!
I love Wendy's! I really love the chocolate frosty! I really like their new breakfast menu. I just went for breakfast this morning. They have a really good $3 breakfast combo deal right now
The last one was definitely a Baconator! A Dave's Double comes with lettuce and tomatoe etc. Baconator is just beef bacon cheese and mayonnaise.
I love Wendy’s. I don’t go to burger places that often but what’s nice about Wendy’s is the burgers aren’t frozen. They’re shipped in from local farms. At least at the Wendy’s near where I live.
Chocolate frosty is a must
The last burger is not a Dave's Double. It is a Baconator. Dave's Doubles come with a salad (lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles.)
If you don't know, the founder, Dave Thomas, named the company after his daughter, who's nickname was Wendy. She is now 62 and a spokesperson for the company. She owns about 30 of the restaurants.
No shit, Sherlock.
@@everyday80sdude86whoa nelly. 😅
@@everyday80sdude86 Perhaps you'd like to explain how foreigners who've never eaten there are supposed to know this information? Unless you think they look up the back story on every restaurant they visit.
You guys are so positive! It’s always fun taking a break to watch one of your videos!
Two lovely people enjoying some food.
UK people must have been late to be introduced into fast food and burgers, so they do call any sandwich that is NOT of 2 simple loaf 'square' bread slices, a 'burger' LOL.
You can buy ground chicken, turkey, salmon (patties with seasoning mixed in), bison etc. and make any of them a burger. Few or no fast food places have chicken burgers.
That's the background sound of America. Ambulance sirens and loud engine revving.
The Beesleys, Your videos always brighten my day, so I subscribed!
Okay bot
I go to Wendy's when I want a burger. Hold on you forgot the frosty, big mistake.
I am lactose intolerant. But I can cheat and have two or three teaspoons. Then I hand it over to my son. Love it,, wish I could eat more
Wendys burgers are the best of the major fast food burger chains. decadent. Their chili is pretty decent. Fries myeh. Frosty is yummy. Really all about their burgers
Their burgers used to be good. Not anymore.
@@bradkirchhoff5703 but probably still better than McDonald’s and BK’s. BK is a train wreck now. The whopper used to be my favorite burger. It’s trash now. The FF industry is in bad shape since Covid.
@@quarantinetheater5612BK was awesome back in the late 80s and early 90s. It's such a shame how far that company has fallen. It's practically inedible now.
Their hamburger is never frozen, the beef just tastes a bit better as a result.
I prefer Burger King's Whopper cause I like lettuce tomato and onion on my burger plus Burger King is not as expensive as Wendy's where I live😊
Most places put lettuce and tomato on burgers automatically. Salad is a completely different dish.
Their spicy chicken SANDWICH is great. Btw, burger is an abbreviation for hamburger.
Wendy’s honey mustard sauce is sooo good. I’d dip everything in them.
The vanilla frosty is one of my favorites, but just like the ice cream at Mc Donald’s, their ice cream machines sometimes don’t work
The nuggets dipped in maple syrup and the fries in a chocolate frosty
A cheese burger is just that a burger with cheese only. A burger with cheese comes with the veggies. Not to worry, it's an American thing, but I'm glad you enjoyed the Wendy's experience.
Wendy's always does a great job. Their old fries used to be terrible, possibly the worst in the industry. The new ones are really good, though. They've also improved their chili, which is perfect for dipping those tasty fries into. Next time be sure to get a Frosty. (Also good for dipping fries into!) :)
My favorite is the chili from Wendy’s.
I love the crunchiness of a fresh salad in the burger
It's adorable how you guys call lettuce a salad. 😀
Glad you guys are enjoying the US!!!
You rarely see cheese on a chicken burger because chicken burgers are so rare. We do have turkey burgers (made with ground turkey), but what you had there was a chicken sandwich.
Chicken sandwiches are called Chicken Burgers in the UK.
@@aprilsatterfield3868 So uncultured.. its a chicken sandwich, the meat isn't grounded up
The great Murica/Brit across the pond debates… chicken sandwich or chicken burger….pecan or pecon… 😉
@@bobbimccain2385 And instead of picking one of the multiple accepted U.S. pronunciations of "pecan," the British had to make up their own: _PEEK-in._
Indeed they are as they are in some other English speaking countries. I'm an Anglophile and I love how we have differences in our languages like lift/elevator, trainers/sneakers, lorry/truck, etc. However unlike differences in names that we each came up with on our own over time, this one is a little different as if something got lost in the translation.
I'm completely convinced british people r terrified of sauces.
I like the Wendy's single, "dragged through the garden" with small fries, small Frosty and a small Coke.
For a change of pace, especially in winter, I like mixing a small chili into a baked potato.
Good food, friendly service and a pleasant dining room.
A Burger is only a Hamburger patty with or with out cheese on a bun - or bread
Anything else on a hamburger bun is a sandwich
Exactly Burger is short for hamburger❤
I'd make an exception for turkey/chicken burgers if the patties are made from ground turkey/chicken.
This is not how it works when people from other countries are speaking. Stop being an imbecile.
In the US, Wendy's never freezes their meats.
Wendy's is known in the US as never using frozen beef patties. If that's true in the UK too, then your beef and produce is sourced from UK farms. You'll never get the same US flavor at a UK Wendy's.
Fries dipped in your Frosty are the best!!
The last one is a baconator ,not a Dave’s double.
Baconator is king they have an amazing southwest zedty salad as well. Their chili baked potato is nice as well. Their ghost pepper ranch chicken sandwich is fabulius
Glad to see you made it to the states. Hope it's a great experience.
Never heard lettuce and tomato on a sandwich called salad! I bet if you asked for a double with lettuce they would make it for you
They are famous for baked potatoes too. Got to try them next time!
When I worked in downtown Columbus, I used to go to the original Wendy’s and grab a meal to go. Frosty, single burger, fries. Or maybe their baked potato with cheese and bacon and a cup of chili 😊
A Baconator, Jr. Bacon Cheese, loaded Baked Potato or Chili and a Frosty represents my Fav's @ Wendy's.
You guys are great! So glad you made it here!
The spicy nuggets aren't very spicy, but they do taste better than the regular ones.
Oh great,now I'm craving a Baconator
❤❤❤Please Please Please remember, in the U.S., you can special order items, even at fast food chains....add this, minus that., extra of this...if you add...it is usually under a dollar per item....for example, "Add Extra Bacon, Lettuce or Pickles Please", if something doesn't typically come with it.
I don't normally eat fast food burgers, but the Daves Double (with lettuce and tomatoes) is delicious.
That's definitely a chicken sandwich. The only thing that would be considered a burger is if it contains ground up meat, usually beef, in the form of a patty.
Love the Pineapple Mango Lemonade. They discontinued two of my favorite flavors. There was a Sunburst Melon one and a Tropical Berry lemonade. Now I just get the Pineapple Mango
I love your videos in the US! Just keep in mind that California, Texas, and New York are our most popular and populated States, but the entire Country and each State has a lot to offer visitors! Please come to Georgia someday and be impressed with Georgia hospitality and cuisine!!
Two tripples and a large chocolate frosty is a pretty decent meal. Or if your feeling cheap, 5 jr bacon cheeseburgers. Its definetly not a daily meal, but a nice don't feel like cooking substitute.
I might be in the minority? I love a loaded baked potato from Wendy’s!!!
Cheese, bacon, and sour cream all the way
Baconator is one of my favorite take outs meals.
Wendy’s was my favorite major fast food chain burger growing up, but they changed them in 2011 and dropped to one of my least favorite. I’ve had maybe 5-6 Wendy’s burgers since then, but I still regularly go for their chicken sandwiches (usually the spicy Asagio chicken ranch).
I agree with you that Dave's Double needs veggies. That is the only reason I don't get it. I usually stick to the basic hamburger which has veggies and my favorite chicken burger with Asiago cheese and bacon. So good
French fry’s use to be a lot better when they used beef tallow, the vegans protested and they stopped.
The Magic Words are "add lettuce, add tomato", and you too can have salad on your Baconator for 60¢ more.
A good thing about Wendy's is you can get a baked potato instead of fries like every other place has.
I get tired of fries all the time.
You should have also given a go for some of the dipping sauces for the nuggets and French fries :)
Looks like a great spot! I don't eat much fast food.. but my recollection is Wendy's food is made fresh.. so you have to wait a bit, but it's fresh off the grill.
You're at the Hilton Garden Inn on the Riverwalk! I've sat in that exact same corner near the pool less than a year ago. It's a pretty good value-for-money, too. I paid barely over $100 per night last time I went.
Dip everything in RANCH especially fries and nuggets!!!!
Lol, "Chicken Burger", it was a "Chicken Sandwich"
I like to order a Dave's double, just the sandwich, and a large chili. I take out one patty and cut it up and put it in the chili for a meatier chili and I still have the sandwich to eat with it. Vanilla frosty. Yummy!
Its been a while since I have been to wendy's. But they used to have a baked potato and chili. Get them both and put them together.
I like the beer pub cheese burger and chicken.
They sell a baked potato with chili on it.
Almost all fast food joints in the US have no issue adding in extras if you ask. In fact, there is almost a cult around "hidden" items or customizing items in ways to either save money or to get something really good that wouldn't normally be served.
How did you not get a Frosty? Fries and a chocolate Frosty is just the best!
My go to is Dave's double with cheese and bacon ( comes with lettuce and tomato , pickles)
I grew up liking Wendy's. In the 80's they had an excellent salad bar, and we would stop off after my mom picked me up from school to load up a huge salad to take home for dinner. They don't make the best fast food burgers, but they're good and their menu is pretty varied without any duds on it. Sadly they have suffered the same problem as almost all fast food places recently, which is a drop in order accuracy. 3 out of the last 4 times I've gone there my order was at least partially wrong.
What, no frosty? My favorite is chocolate.
Chicken Burger = Ground/Minced Chicken.
Chicken Sandwich = Whole Grilled/Breaded Chicken.
