Awesome video guys, Lea & I can't wait to go to Walmart.
You need to get yourselves there asap!! You will absolutely love it. Hope you guys are well, keep smashing it ❤️❤️❤️
@TheBeesleys99 come to arkansas. That's where Walmart started. Also they turned their first store the 5 and dime is a museum. The corporate office is based in Bentonville arkansas. Lots of history
Well, when you do, get out of the grocery section. There is so much more to see.
@@TheBeesleys99 I know it's become an international tourist attraction but there's so many other options too. There's also bin stores, there's generic ones that have franchised but they're not legit as the proper dollar per pound thrift stores where most resellers hunt. Seriously, next visit, you should try an American flea market & swap meets . . Or one of the many black market alleys, usually not too far from a fashion district. Or look up the largest farmer's markets in the U.S. while many operate year around, the bigger ones have more annual events that are the real show, where the rest of the state (sometimes surrounding outliers along the border) come out to promote their biz and sell their excess... and then of course, you have the standard farmers' faire in many more rural and agriculture towns, more of an exhibition and contest with some fair games, you want the agricultural ones rather than the "county" variety which is a bit more carnival, circus. It's more of a foodie, well, street foodie's paradise... with so many food stands that actively promote heart failure.
A wide range of festivals too. . . some you can experience anywhere but Americans do have their own take on things. It's not just music, not just dance, it's a fuller experience and often overwhelming with the amount of people vs say the same events in Europe, especially the uk. You also get some weird ones in smaller, out of the way locations... in Colorado, miles higher than the mile high city of Denver, they have a festival celebrating a town's founding by a brothel madam and race beds down the road... two people per bed, a lad in night clothes and a lass dressed like a wild west harlot. Or there was the testyfesty - it went out a few years ago, it was festival centered around deep fried testicles. a rather rowdy event, but there are similar, more family events centered around rocky mountain oysters elsewhere.
True. I generally dread my trip. Haha
“We can’t buy to much because we won’t have room to take home”……lol…problem solved! Just go to the other side of the store and buy another suitcase…😂😂
My instant first thought
I had to do that in Las Vegas one time. Luckily a gift shop we had been in had suitcases!
Box it up, and have it shipped home.
@@Bad_Meachthat’s what I was thinking.
But another suitcase works too.
@@Bad_Meachhe made a comment that it would be too expensive to “post” stuff home. Wonder how much shipping/posting would cost compared to paying at airline to carry an additional suitcase?
This video makes me realize how much we, as Americans, have and how much we take for granted.
The real Walmart experience being disappointed they don’t have what you want
True story!
The Goldfish had me going 😂
Exactly!
LOL AWESOME!
I suppose it's amazing to me just how normal it is for me to go to Walmart. One of the things they sell that I like is the King Oscar's mackerel.
You can get tools, toys, car parts, hunting/fishing equipment, bicycles, furniture, clothing, jewelry, prescription drugs, televisions, computers, nearly anything.
lmao i love how james runs off and you can still hear millie
She's wearing a mic
Yeah that was funny. 😂
She’s mic’d up
Apparently these people thought you thought it was magic or something. Telling you she's mic'ed like that isn't obvious. lol.
I guess I thought it was funny how he included it in the edit I'm assuming they separate audio files as well
It's funny seeing someone excited shopping in Walmart.
I know. I hope they did some actual sightseeing on this trip and didn't just eat at fast food and shop at walmart.
Yes,
I’ve avoided Walmart for the past 6 years
So happy

I know. I go about once or twice a year, tops. Luckily I live in a larger city where we have multiple options. We have 3 Walmarts and 2 Walmart Neighborhood Markets. I prefer the grocery only store. A little more expensive but a lot smaller and less crowded.
Our Walmart is never this devoid of people. Was this the crack of dawn?
They are going to arrive at customs and the Agent is going to ask if they have anything to declare. James will reply "Walmart".
It's sooo funny that internationals associate red solo cups with being American. Lol
🎼🎶 "Red Solo Cup, you fill me up; let's have a party..."
Red solo cups are in just about every hs/college party tv show/movie and music video. Just like track suits in british movies/tv show. lol
I didn't realize that either. I don't know if I've ever bought them.
@@jordanparker5949 Solo cups are a weird item- almost no one has ever bought them but almost everyones used them at some point in time 🤣
I can't recall ever even seeing one. We used to have paper Dixie cups in the bathroom at home.
Millie's bitter disappointment that there were no cupcake goldfish was so funny. 😂
British people usually maintain a stoic aristocratic calm except when they can't find cupcake Goldfish crackers. Then things get nasty and emotional quickly.
Aren't they seasonal anyway?
The cereal in the bags are usually cheaper than in the box
Which is funny cause the ones in boxes have bags in them lol

Must feel good to have scratched a bunch of itches on this trip! I just can't get over our gas stations and grocery stores are a tourist destination!!!
Yeah.. It strikes me as funny too. I have 4 walmarts 20 min from my house... I don't really like walmart, but there are a few things I can only find there. For clothes and groceries There are several better stores. And gas stations?
@@creinicke1000 Besides Buc-ee's I don't think much of any gas station... but those are great
In Europe gasoline costs only slightly less than single malt Scotch.
To be honest, if I went to the UK, I would very much want to visit their grocery stores.
@@terrigaines1812
I've been there---their grocery stores are pathetic!!! LOL No wonder ours are a draw!!!
I know you're blown away by the sizes of the packaging. It is CRAZY when you first see it, but if you have two teenage boys in your house these sizes are essential!
Also if you're blown away by the sizes of the packaging at Walmart, you should check out the package sizes at Sam's and Costco.
Didn't they just have a son?
It’s also the difference in culture in that here in the USA a lot of people live pretty far from stores, so don’t go shopping as often and we have larger houses and vehicles on average so it’s easier to buy and store larger quantities to reduce trips to the store. So because of that the larger quantities are desired
I remember how small the neighborhood market was when I was growing up. Now Walmart is just a regular thing.
I think my brother's house today is bigger than the local market my mom used to shop at.
Your lucky to only have 2 my daughter has 4 boys and 1 girl and the youngest is 12. 2 are hers and three are step kids she buys everything in bulk. I honestly don't know how she does it
The reason why you probably cant find the birthday goldfish is because some companies will release "specialty" flavors only at certain times of the year, or they might release a special flavor and see how well it sells. If they sell well, they will probably continue to make that flavor. If they dont sell well, they will discontinue to make that certain flavor.
So true, they have a ton of limited edition out here in the southwest and all of it is “flaming hot”🥵. I still miss the pepper Jack cheese it crackers.
The best stuff is always seasonal, limited time, or long discontinued. I have been yearing for PB Crisps to come back since I was in 2nd or 3rd grade.
I've never even seen the birthday ones before. I'm going to check the next time I go. 😂
Some companies will also only sell limited edition products at specific stores or regions of the USA
@@Raquel-un8vv I'm in Oregon and I've not seen birthday goldfish. We have birthday cake flavor Teddy Grahams.

Archie shows us that mysteriously removing only 1 sock is ingrained in the DNA of all human infants. 🙂
It’s funny seeing people treat Walmart like it’s a tour destination!
If there is something you cannot find, ask one of the employees. Walmart has a bad habit of stocking things in areas you would never guess they would be.
Exactly. I have the Walmart app and it says the cupcake goldfish are currently in stock so the company is still selling them and Walmart is still stocking them.
They are paid to showcase items in premium spaces like endcaps, and main aisles. In Cincinnati every other week I have to play where did they put Skyline chili cans (local favorite). Kinda like a scavenger hunt. They only have 1 skid that gets moved around. Rarely is there enough to stock the actual aisle space.
No kidding. As a former Walmart employee I've shopped at the one I used to work at, I ask them where something is, and even checking on their store device, I sometimes get a "we don't carry it" (even though you can order it online!), or get answer "I don't know " (most of the time answer!) 😡
@@80sGamerLadyThey are probably slotted in or near the cookies section.
i just saw a feature of cheetos pretzels at the store, but the normal chip location was empty lmaoo
Pack a box, take it to UPS, and ship it to yourself! That's one way you can get stuff back home!
I guess we don't realize how spoiled we really are to the varieties and amounts of stuff we can get here. It's just the norm for America...
I hope you guys enjoy your trip. I live here, and I've never had those goldfish flavors, I've never even seen them! 😅
God bless
Yeah, when I travel to weed legal states, I always ship some home. Fly home, and a couple of days later, UPS set it on the porch.
The cost of shipping to the UK is very expensive. Have sent gifts to friends and family a few times and shipping can sometimes exceed the price of the items.
@eponine1966 I'm guessing it's less than extra luggage fees on the airline though? No idea since I've never paid for either.
@@eponine1966
It is expensive, but since it goes by weight, and most of what they want are things like crackers and chips, it won't be too terrible. More than the price of the items certainly, but if it can't be got at all back home, it might be worth it. And certainly less than an extra baggage airline fee.
i like the anecdote at the end, nice to get a cashier that says something like that. hopefully the Americans you met lived up to your expectations of friendliness.
And now you have experienced why it can be dangerous to go to Walmart because things just magically leap into your cart before you know it.
I'm not convinced that Archie has any real love for Cheese Balls, but I think Grandma does.
I always find it amusing how fascinated by Walmart foreigners constantly are. But I know this was a big deal for you guys anyway, to see our vast array of choices you often hear about. This is a fun video.
Even as an American was surprised that one Walmart in California had a full row of Cereal.
I'm a trucker and I think most people would be stunned at how much each truck load is. A couple days ago my load was 44,500 pounds of McGriddles. I also deliver to Walmart distribution centers fairly often.
16:40 Welcome to being a man in Walmart shopping with your woman. Hearing Millie on the hot mic "James? Where's James".😂
Hahaha she lost her man. 😅
tip for any visitors to the. U.S. that want to film inside a place. just ask for a manager when you first get inside and say that you just have a question. when you talk to the manager, just tell them you're visiting from (insert your country here) and you would like to film your experience to show family back home. 9/10 times they'll happily let your film. also make sure you get the name of the manager so in case anyone else tries to stop you, just tell them that you already spoken to manager (insert name here) and they gave you permission. that will shut up most of the workers instantly and they'll leave you alone after that....
But if they say no, no video will be made. Sometimes it’s best to just apologize later

when I left the Army and started working as a contractor for the Army overseas, I would take vacations back to the U.S. and while home, I would buy all the stuff I felt that I needed when I went back overseas. I would then box it all up and ship it through the Postal Service or even FedEx/UPS. it was MUCH cheaper than packing it in my suitcase and paying extra for the weight. I used to ship around 150 lbs in two large boxes this way each vacation back home.
When I started working at Walmart as a cashier, I had to wear a shirt and tie and I was one of the first male cashiers. We were timed by how many items per minute we could check out, including bagging the merchandise. They didn't have that policy at the Supercenters because grocery items are more fragile than hard goods. They only had soda, juice, candy, and snack foods at regular Walmart stores. When I first started, and for a few years after we "went" Supercenter (moving into a Supercenter) visible tattoos, beards, long hair (for guys), facial piercings, and piercings for guys weren't permitted. Only the stockboys (the guys who did maintenance, customer carryouts, gathered carts, and other menial labor) were allowed to wear blue jeans. When they introduced vests, things started getting more casual. As soon as beards were allowed, all the managers tried to grow beards, with varying success. :) We would also load the bags into the customers cart, now the cashiers just fill the bags, leaving it up to the customer to put the bags in your cart. We were also trained to be meticulous with our bagging, to make sure not to put heavy things on top of potato chips, not to put chemicals with food items and different meats in their own bags to prevent cross contamination. Very few cashiers pay attention to details like that any more. Tips are NOT allowed, at all. When a customer insisted, after I took a heavy item out, I would put the "tip" in the donation jar for Le Bon Heur Children's hospital. Walmart is Le Bon Heur's biggest donor. When one of my son's had to go to Le Bon Heur for his heart problems at birth, Walmart had a representative at the hospital make sure my wife and other son were taken care of during his treatment. I had no problem at all requesting more time off. I might not have seen eye to eye with management sometimes, but reflecting upon it years later, it was the best job I ever had compared to others later on. It was like a family, you have quarrels, but it worked out.
This is so funny. I do all I can to avoid Walmart. Then again, when I was in Scotland, I was fascinated by PoundLand and thought it was amazing.
It’s natural for tourists to be excited and fascinated in stores while traveling in other countries because the sections have different food items and snacks brands, that you can’t back home. They’re also sometimes built differently from country to country and have unique features. I went to a Mexican Walmart in the state of Jalisco. The Walmarts over there are pretty much the same as the states except maybe it’s slightly smaller, but not much.
@@user-sq5eg8vz6jYep I remember seeing a Walmart in Tijuana and yeah it looks like a grocery store.
I never go to Wal-Mart. Don't believe in it. My brother will sometimes do grocery shopping there when he is at the lake. It is 35 minutes to the nearest grocery and it is small. So they frequently hit the Wal-Mart in New Braunfels. In Texas groceries are sometimes few and far between.

@@TheBeesleys99that reminds me of a classic comeback of parents when the kids see something that catches your eye, but the parents ain't having it. "We have (X) at home!"

@@TheBeesleys99, Ok, now you need to buy a cow! Because TEXAS. 😄
Never buy produce or meat at Walmart. While in Texas, buy all of your groceries at HEB. Wherever there is an HEB+, there's a nearby Walmart with like 10 customers in it.
I live within about 7 minutes of a Walmart and 10 minutes of an HEB. While our HEB has more meat items like beef ribs and pork belly, the Walmart has a better meat section and it’s cleaner. The Walmart vegetable/fruit section usually blows away HEB but again, HEB has things like fresh bean sprouts that Walmart doesn’t carry. Walmart’s is cleaner, better kept, etc.
I split time between them and love HEB’s specialty sections and better selections such as in the Asian foods. Ours has a fish market which is great. Sometimes I hit HEB instead just for the fish market.
For most groceries it’s Walmart but for certain items HEB kills Walmart.
@tvc1848 I said HEB+, not old HEBs. Walmart is quantity over quality. Walmart Supercenters have substandard quality produce and meat compared to HEB. Walmart has a killer processed food and snack selection (especially breakfast cereals and snacks), but they can't compete with HEB quality in REAL food. Then again, it's like I said about "wherever there's an HEB+", some towns have small, shitty HEBs, and huge Walmarts. My town has a Walmart Supercenter and HEB of equal size, and it's obvious which one is more popular when you see the crowds in HEB. I only go to Walmart for non-food items, or guilty pleasure junk cereals. Even the HEB store brand foods are miles better than Sam's Choice.
@@tvc1848 walmart's produce section has improved from what it used to be for sure

the best advise to get stuff that is hard to find in Europe but easy to find in the U.S. is have a 'shopping buddy' in the U.S. and set up a pay account with them so that they can go do your shopping for you and ship it to you and you pay them back through the pay account... this worked for me when I lived overseas for several years when I couldn't come back to the States to do my own shopping.... the best ones are close family, or friends, but you could also try and trust a good fan... and don't feel guilty about the customs issues. most Americans are willing to jump through flaming hoops to help someone, especially with a new experience or to show off America..

Again, another great clip. I love your trip to the United States. Have a great day. 👍
When our friends from Lent come stateside, they love to shop for sweets to take back. They bring an empty case to carry items back on the plane. When we shipped them a Christmas box for them, we spent $50 on treats but it cost us $70 for postage..
Once i sent a memorial angel statue when my friend's mom past away. The Royal post office stopped it wanting an additional import charge. Which i had paid extra before shipping.
My husband was in the Navy, and when he attended the Naval post graduate school in California they had a lot of foreigners who also attended. They would sell all their furniture and buy the things they wanted to take back home because they were allowed so much weight for things to be moved back to their country. they choose things they couldn’t get in their own country, one such item was baby formula.
Walmart isn't a Supermarket, it's a Department Store. For the most part, Walmart and Target only added groceries in the 90s and 2000s.
There are some that are both, having a full supermarket as well as all the other departments (Valley Stream, NY), and others that are only supermarkets (Levittown NY)
@nancyomalley6286 Most Walmarts are both at this point, and Target is working on converting their stores. He said in Britain they can't buy strollers at the supermarket, well the same is true here, Kroger won't have that.
Groceries weren't really sold at Walmart stores for a long time. It was more of a general merchandise store. The newest section of a Walmart is the groceries in many ways.
The trick to traveling is to always check an empty piece of luggage so that you can have plenty of room for all the things that you want to bring home with you that you pick up.
I'm sure it varies by region, but from a Southern California native, stores like Walmart and Target are usually called some variation of "department" or "discount" store, not "grocery" store, even though many have grocery departments. "Grocery stores" are much smaller on average (though probably still larger than you are used to), mostly or entirely food or food-related items, sometimes with an aisle or two of "seasonal" items like holiday decorations or things for picnics or grilling. Particularly large grocery stores are also often called "supermarkets", but the lines between the "types" of store are blurry, and getting blurrier all the time.
So glad you had fun!!
Even in california, target is more expensive than walmart
Usually just by a few cents.
You can always ship some of your stuff back home through the mail, like the coffee creamer. Yes, it adds cost, but then you're not adding weight to your bags on the flight home, and you also don't have to worry about them either confiscating it, or it bursting in your luggage.
That's the bad when you're flying. You have just so much room for your luggage with clothes, but not enough room for packing souvenirs.
I bet you guys would enjoy an RV trip. Colorado, Utah, Arizona.
Montana , Wyoming, South Dakota, Idaho too.
I think it's best they do the RV trip in Utah during the late fall to early spring. Summer will be enough to wipe them out with the dry heat. Humid heat is just as troublesome.
@@AC-ni4gt I vote for spring. There will be snow on the mountains still, and wildflowers in the valleys. Beautiful!
I’m boycotting Walmart right now, but this was delightful! Made me miss Walmart. Hope you guys went to target and H-E-B. I really like living vicariously through your experiences. It’s weird how much joy you guys get from something we tend to take for granted. Archie! Little cheese ball! Hope you guys do a trip every year. Archie can watch himself grow up as a natural born world traveler! Great video.
I just got home from HEB about an hour ago! Lol. Love that store!
I'm an Albertsons, Costco, Kroger dude myself. lol Why boycotting?
My wife and I boycott Walmart, because they put mom and pop store out of business, treat their employees poorly, poor quality merchandise that was manufactured in China and then, also, demand to show your receipt, immediately after you had just gone thru the checkout. Those are just few reasons that come to mind. @JoshuaMartian-go3tm
@@charlesford5935 All true points, however that's capitalism and the price of wanting cheap things. Nothing changes until the employees unionize tho. Which will be used as an excuse to hike up prices no doubt.
@@JoshuaMartian-go3tm It doesn't matter what you do, the consumer always loses
while traveling, if you put any container that has liquid in it in your suitcase. also put it into a ziplock bag in case it leaks or explodes due to air pressure changes while flying.. it'll save you a ton of clean up.
10:37 “NOT YET, NOT YET we might be moving”😂
I have never had to pay for a plastic bag.
Apparently, all the folks saying "just mail it back home", didn't hear him say "it costs a lot of money to send it, by Post?" That means 'by mail.'
If the items you want aren't on the shelves, it's always worth it to ask a store associate to please check "in back" to see if they're available. It's because the delivery may have been made, but the item(s) just haven't been put on the shelves yet.
So, depending on the store and associate, if you just ask, they'll check their warehouse in the back of the store where deliveries are brought in for you.
Also, a lot of stores have their cashiers to ask customers if they found everything they were looking for. You can tell them about the item missing from the shelf and they can send an associate to go check "the back" for you.
A little FYI for your next shopping trip
If you are next in the US, and you need a specialty thing, you can Amazon buy and ship to your hotel. Amazon 2 day or even 1 day delivery if you are in cities. Those cupcake goldfish for example. Still, I go right past the center aisles in Walmart. Just do not snack much. Um, you passed the Toll House chocolate chips which you should have taken home. Also any spices etc for cooking or baking American dishes ie pecans, chocolate chips, chili or taco spices, etc. When I lived in the UK I always brought back grocery items like Bird's custard mix, lemon curd, lady fingers, digestive biscuits, wheatabix, suet.
I’ll send you guys some of the goldfish that she wants. It’s called Vanilla Cupcake Goldfish. We have them available here in Virginia, always in stock. :)
You will make Millie's day! Very sweet of you 😊
I am so glad that you so enjoyed yourselves. Life is good!!
You can always mail yourselves a package of items ( mail the lightest and suitcase heavier ) before you head to the airport. Also when packing to visit the USA, only pack 3 outfits that are not your favorite ( there are laundry mats to clean your cloths in about an hour ) and you will have lots of room in your suitcases for shopping ( plus you can buy new cloths and if your getting low on room you can discard your old outfits ).
When I went to England I packed my suitcase and placed in in a slightly larger suitcase. This way I had plenty of room for all my goodies to bring home. I just had to pay for the extra bag on the way home. It worked out nicely.
