I've had my G80 with carbon buckets for about a month now. I don't understand the argument of why dailying a car means you can't enjoy every mile to the fullest. If I wanted to get from A to B in the most boring comfy way possible, I'd drive my wife's Honda Accord. I love the carbon buckets. I'm lean and athletic, and the buckets are only a little effort, maybe a 2 on a scale of 10, but the enjoyment is a 10. I got the G80 because I wanted to enjoy every mile.
Exactly! People consistently tell me I’m lying when I say I love them, enjoy them and have no regrets. People like you and me specifically wanted them and enjoy every moment of it. I wouldn’t want an M3 without them.
F90 competition owner here - I drove a friend's G80 competition xdrive and it's just a little bit sharper in the handling, but I can't speak to the base M5. Racing them, stock for stock, my F90 put a couple of carlengths on his G80. They're different enough I think owning both is warranted if you want a choice, but for a do-everything performance car the F90 comp is it. Ideally you would want both for different situations.
It's probably the weight of the M3 that makes it seem faster. I agree with the lag on the M5 as mine has it, and i'm not a fan. I wish BMW would have made a supercharged M5 instead as lag would not be an issue. I think the M3 can be tuned to be faster than the M5.
Honestly bro, I bought mine around 40-42k miles, had it till about 52k miles and I didn’t even bother buying a warranty. The only thing I ever did was an oil change and the previous owners as well. No major issues or changes. I know they have a scary rep but I figured I’ll find out myself and that was my experience
Your opinion is one thing but facts are also another thing. A stage 2 m5 is definitely putting bus lengths on a stock g80 with just downpipes, forget it an s55 f82 on stage 1 beats a stock g80
Bro, I ihave both a stage 1 F80 M3 and a factory M3 G80 and I have to sell the F80 to pay the finance on the G80. The F80 is the most amazing car I've ever driven nut its a pain to live with compared to the creature comforts of the G80. Wish I could keep both.
@@myounz but apparently once it's tuned up, nothing can touch the G80, so I've gotta go down the tuning route, gonna cost a lot to make me love the G80 like I do the F80!
The license plate 😂

The carbon buckets have spoiled me so much that I cannot imagine enjoying any car now that doesn't have these seats@@myounz

Completely agree, the F90 is perfect for all scenarios. Just depends what one is looking for. Def miss my F90 at times

Agreed and don’t get me wrong, the F90 was insanely fast for what it was but they’re just different. Both still amazing machines!
Wanting a f90 m5 that’s the dream, how much realistically we’re you paying to maintain it(let’s say a year maybe driving 15000km)

I’m sure, never owned an F80 but I hear that from a lot of people. I hear the F80 is more raw vs the G80 is heavy with tech, comfort etc.
