Because they lowered the prices on new ones. I paid $71K for our 2022 MYP on Aug 25th, 2022. That same vehicle today is less than $44K (after the $7500 tax credit, which wasn't available back in 2022). So of course, used prices are taking a HIT. It's not rocket science. Folks have been bitching that EVs are too expensive, Tesla solved that and now folks are complaining the value of their used Tesla is in the toilet.
Electric cars are capable of being quicker than gas-powered cars. I will definitely consider this as my next car, good video. Now I knew a lot of things about Tesla. Kudos!
The cars always reminded me of the old 2004 Toyota Sportivo Concept Car. All the technology is pretty much the exact same, back then the car was the brainchild of a group of children and some engineers that made the kids dream a reality. But all that technology was a mere dream, now all these years later we see Tesla making strides to make it very real and come to life. Even the outside appearance is almost the same.
You're absolutely right the price of Tesla EV model Y will goes down with the up coming of the refresh model Juniper. In one more year it would be possible to get a classic model Y for 20000$. I'm waiting for this time to grab one. By the way nice vidéo
So unfortunate and I * think these are going to just keep going down unless COVID happens again. I just bought a Model Y and debated on getting a used one but with the interest rates what they are right now, it was better to buy new. I think Teslas will keep getting cheaper every year making the issue worse! Once the refresh comes out, I think it will just crash the previous models resale value. BE CAREFUL and really CONSIDER all aspects of purchasing a Tesla. If interest rates get back to reasonable levels, I suggest considering buying used. Especially because these cars are cheaper to maintain and last quite a while.
@@georgevigil7001 great breakdown! Yes even with higher interest rates I’d still buy a used if I was on the market for one and negotiate the purchase price hard! There are a lot of Tesla for sale - way too many. Pretty easy to find a great deal
Meanwhile I can’t even find a used MYP with less than 40K km on it for less than 5% of the cost of a new one. Dropping prices? Yet in Canada Many used MYPs are going for the price of a new one after incentives only to get the extras the first owner paid for (winter tires/wheels, PPF protection, mats, etc.)
Would you buy Model Y Performance that beats most Ferrari's for $20,000?

I mean it is pretty painful that your car is worth 2-3 times less than just couple years ago isnt?
@@redasthecolorburrrrrrrn 🔥
@@Mkvkuv lol that sounds even more painful
@@redasthecolor but you were driving it for 2-3 years when everyone else were in their shitboxes, maybe not that painful anymore?
@@MrChristocentric seriosly? Model S is way cooler and been around for 12 years now. And cost like 15k too
