► What started with a normal Los Angeles game without recording, became the run of my life with an world record highscore of 71,074 points. How did I do it and why is it not necessarily a reason to celebrate? We'll find out in today's video!

Definitely RnG in some parts, but the early blocking sort of can be developed with enough experience.
Highest I got so far is 3k.

It'll change in the future for sure. As for now the scores don't say that much also because the devs keep deleting really high scores because they think some might be hacked. So the leaderboards change on a daily basis.
3k is a solid score! Especially because at some point the score will start climbing really fast! :)
Here must be equilibrium top scores: as less as possible time, as less as possible roads.
I haven’t played game yet, but I have been playing with the idea of placing roads in some locations to prevent spawns.

@@jesusbrown9276 Buildings won't spawn in places where roads already exist, so you can fill an empty area with roads to prevent a building from spawning there.

Yes! I wondered why reviewers weren't planning arteries to the commerce centres and use road tiles to stop houses spawning where they would block access

One billion is either straightly hacked or the person was just letzing their pc run for days or weeks with autoclick. From time to time devs will delete the scores until they finally release an improved version of the game (:
Some of the new ones like *insert 64 bit integer limit* seem hacked
Thank you! My first assumption is that the high scores are bogus. There were a few million point scores and even a couple of billion point scores on the leaderboard that have sense disappeared. I think the massive difference between the top scores and the second score is always hard to explain. I'm happy to get a few thousand and these points seem absurdly high. So, thank you for posting that and showing what is possible. Time to up my game...
You're welcome! Well there are hacked scores for sure. But the devs can't tell which ones are real and which ones are not. So they'll delete just by guessing (mine is gone now as well).
Honestly: A few thousand as great. I often just get 2k or 3k rounds. There's a lot of luck to it as well :)
So it’s possible to reach a point where your factories reach their limit and as long as you have enough houses feeding into them the game will run forever without adjustment. At that point it’s just waiting to rack up score, about 25k points per hour of waiting around. I found that about 13 factories is the optimal number to sustain. I have gotten 44,444 points on the Los Angeles map and 20,000 points on the Beijing map. I’m on the Tokyo map right now and I have a game going. I’m planning to stop at 9,999 since scores higher than that don’t show up on the leaderboards? Anyways I found out that if a double factory appears, your basically eventually going to die since those clog up no matter what you do or how efficiently. Plan efficiently and and try to control the area where factories spawn and you can do it too! This is only my third day playing :)

Scores don't say much right now. It'll be interesting once there was a major update to this. Until then scores will be randomly deleted as well by the devs :)

A cool update would be that the buildings could have more tiers. Like, it could go from normal store to IMAX to mall to airport to power plant or something
I wish this was a start-to-finish video. That would have been really helpful. Always after around 2,000 the demand explodes too fast for me to keep up.

@@MamaTeeHam most of them I can get over 2000 usually, and a few up to 3000. Once I got up to 4000.

Okay since you are now unofficially a mini-motorway guru :P I just have to ask as someone who just picked the game up recently ... are traffic lights doing anything besides making me feel like the flow gets worse everytime I try to implement them?!

Don't waste your picks on traffic lights. As for now they're useless. As mentioned in my tips and tricks vid I'd try to avoid intersections. If you can't avoid them: Go for roundabouts - not traffic lights :)

At the start you reference the 5 tips & tricks video, but i din't see anywhere to click and watch it. I strongly suggest you to reference it at the description and in the video with the cornerside tags. Most people wont bother to go to your channel page to search for a video.

what is about those randomly placed roads and bridges that dont connect to anything? do they have a purpose like preventing houses to spawn on annoying spots?
Yes, I use them a lot to control the spawn. The bridges were just cause I had 1300 roads and nowhere to put them ;)
What if you deleted the stub roads (e.g. top left corner) would more houses spawn there? That might have helped to get extra cars?
Probably wouldn't have done anything. The bridge was just because I was starting to feel bored after nothing would happen anymore (:

I started to play with road preemptive placement too. How did you manage that though with the limited number of road tiles you get at a time?
I delete them from time to time depending on how the game develops. But usually I'm at 0-5 road tiles all the time.
Also at some point the map won't get any bigger anymore so roads are not an issue anymore :)

Depends, maybe 3k. Had some with 4k, but also terrible rounds with 1k. The one in the video definitely wasn't one I was expecting 😊✌🏼
My high score is 182 639 on LA weekly challenge 16th August - But can't get anywhere near that with the fixes.

Do you have any idea at what score the demand stopped increasing? Reaching that would be winning the game then. Id like perspective of how far i am from it.
Hard to say because I didn't realize it was stuck in a loop. I would guess it already was at around 10 to 15k.

Biggest map size would be 21*37 I assume. Good to know that. Because whenever I say "ok, you covered all the empty spaces" map gets bigger 😁

Way to be on top of comments. I found it afterwards but this will be great for other mobile users.
Has the game been changed since this, because I have created maps with literally 100% separated colours and zero junctions and it still doesn't work above mid 3000s. The cars simply take too long, and they seems to move much more slowly in and out of the malls than this, though it's hard to tell with it sped up in this video.
They're constantly working on the game so changes are a thing. For example: Back then 3 way intersections didn't slow down the cars. Now they do. If you wanna know how it looks in regular speed go check out my Zürich highscore 👍🏼
@@HYDROPHILPLAYS Yeah, the junctions were really baffling me. That makes sense. Yeah, it actually seems more feasibly now I've watched that Zurich high score. The fact that the malls are constantly in the danger zone but things keep going is interesting. I kind of felt when I got to about 3500 I got resigned to it being game over as all the malls start flashing. Looks like I just need to connect those single houses dotted around, that can be enough to tip the balance.

Well kind of. As mentioned in the video it's possible, but it doesn't make sense. Probably the game code will have to be improved.
I think an easy solution is to just expand the maps, since there is still enough reasonable space.

@@HYDROPHILPLAYS haha. Yeah I know. The worst part is I think it was more a lucky roll of pop-up locations then my skill at the game. I was surprised just how long I lasted that round and haven't gotten as close to it since.

2k on the fist try is great. I can't get over 1.5k. But I also don't want to cheese the game by having near total road segregation. Unfortunately, it's essential for high scores.

It was automatically zooming on iPad, but that felt kinda weird as well. Hopefully it'll be implemented regularly.

If they make the demand increase indefinitely, then there will be a theoretical high score possibility. I say theoretical cuz Im not sure if we could calculate it. but yea, this would mean that people wont really be able to go past the world record.

he just block the spawn so yeah...
Usually I get double malls but not this time. But double malls are not bad imo cause they have a lot of parking space. There was enough soace to spawn double malls as well but the game didn't do so 🤷🏼♂️

Well technically it is. But it is very unlikely. There are hacked scores for sure. And just like the 420.420 one I guess this one is fake. Usually they get deleted from time to time also deleting real scores.

Pretty sure I saw a high score in the range of 2,900,000,000 ish on one of the maps (can't recall which), nice to know it is possible without a hack but that some serious time sat letting the game run
Score of 2.9b still might be hacked tho. I wouldn't let my pc run that long just so somebody gets in a 4b score 🤷🏼♂️
So I have an odd idea. Subverting traffic purposely. Basically make the low density populations have longer roads/ driveways (suburbia) this would increase odds that they would be off main roads and they can take their time getting to their destination. The trouble with the plan I think is predicting what will be small and large groups.

Not anymore. But I usually don't use them cause I have the old traffic lights in mind that were 100% useless before being improved. Still trying to figure out what to do with them tho :D

Yeah that's why really high scores get deleted on a daily basis. You could also just let it run and farm points without hacks. Hope they'll improve the game code soon!
Your score accelerates as you get more buildings so comparisons are sortof misleading.

It would have been so much more interesting to watch you build. The video you link to is on a different map and barely reaches 10K.
The video I link to is (apart from the map) the same as this one. Once you're at around 10k the infinite score starts. There's nothing that I did differently on this map than on the Zurich map. I wished I recorded this one from the start but I simply didn't think it would be the round of rounds. The magic of the Zurich highscore happens until 8k. After that it'll always be the same loop.
