I hate it when people accuse cleverly making use of game mechanics as cheating. As long as it's a thing you can do within the game without glitching, modifying the code, making use of hard/software that automate certain things, or anything else like that you are just using game mechanics. Sometimes I just feel like people are triggered because they don't have the skill to do it themselves lol (like another amazing example; snaking in Mario Kart).
Pretty good point, I have some strategies with the game Stellaris that feels like cheating to maybe some, but it’s actually a clever way to play MegaCorp in it.
Eh, "making clever use of game mechanics" is just cheating within the confines of the game. By your definition, using an in game editor isn't cheating because it's in the game readily available for you to use. Just because something is able to be done without using outside software doesn't mean it isn't cheating. In a game like this it doesn't matter at all since it's solely single-player but you gotta admit it doesn't really feel like people are playing the game the "right way". I won't deny that it takes skill to do be able to do it effectively, because it absolutely does.
I don’t think it’s cheating but this is a problem of “letter of the law” vs “spirit of the law”. By the letter of the law placing random roads down isn’t cheating because it’s a basic game mechanic. The spirit of the law would say this could be considered cheating because it’s manipulating an aspect of the game.
i wouldn't call it cheating and i definitely think many people are overreacting, but i would like for them to incorporate this into the game in a different way, that feels more natural then building jumbled roads everywhere. but if they don't do that, or even until they do that, this is a 100% legit way to play the game

Can you please do a guide of where you want to block with extra roads. I try to do it but I don’t know where I should block off and it would just help heaps if I could have just that little bit more control over where things spawn. Btw, great video and very underrated, definitely subscribing
Very nice!! It's great to see some videos about how to gain some stability on the map to start earning huge points. Meanwhile, I'm over here just squeaking by to get the 2k achievements :) I guess I need to try controlling the spawn a little bit.
Was helpful to see how close it felt like you were to losing for a while before things leveled out! I've hit that 3-4k range often and when it starts looking hopeless I Assume it's over, but the little changes apparently make a big difference. Also, what the hell is that 2 billion point score lmao
What is the difference between classic and endless modes? You mentioned something about maxing out, does that mean classic goes to the point where the game end because all possible spawn points are filled up?

The more and more I understand this game, it's disappointing that this game doesn't want us to make nice looking street design but rather to make earthworm looking dizzy and segregated hundreds roads in order to survive and lasts any longer as much as possible... it's pity. Traffic sign ?? just shit, I wonder why thy made this item even can't be used for high score.. haha
One thing that I never see you doing which is interesting to me is to arrange neighborhoods to minimize intersections inside them. Aka two houses connected on opposite sides of a straight road. Cars slow down when you have that, so does it just not matter???
How come there wasn't a single double color factory spawning anywhere in the whole level. I have the most trouble dealing with those since they make segregation literally impossible.
Idk, maybe on Zürich they're rare since there's not too much space. Usually I'm fine with those since you can kind of segregate by using the two exits.
Why at the beginning does he surround the business corners? I thought that houses wouldn't spawn directly next to businesses early game, so I always block the spaces one further tile away (like at the beach in this example)
They do by now but this has been changed in an update. Back then when I started playing this game it was possible to spawn right next to each other. Can't get this out of my style of playing :)
Where exactly are the most important places to put suppression roads (to keep houses/businesses from spawning)? I see you're placing them mostly around existing businesses and open areas, but I personally still have trouble deciding where to put my roads, especially when they are scarce. Thanks in advance! No it's still the same. It will allow to build over the sides of it. So some tiles will work, some won't. In my gameplay it looks sometimes weird because I tend to pull the motorways after they are placed too see underneath. But that's just a visual thing.
I saw your video on blocking the entire map so that only one shop is on the map. You should try this again now that you can reduce the pin counter each time a car enters the shop.
@@HYDROPHILPLAYS Not really, they're little spherical containers that you cant trade and can only get by completing challenges or leveling up. They're all pretty trash tbh. You can get Uncommon, Rare, and Import crates I believe. Other than that they're useless for good items. Unless you're trading up.
I see you try to avoid the 270 degree connections to destinations. Have you actually verified this is better than the shorter, more acute road? Yes, the cars do slow down a touch for those angles, but they have a short journey which I think makes up for it (whilst sparing one road tile and a map square). Those angles elsewhere is definitely bad because of the concertina effect, but at the end of the journey when they're stopping anyway, I'm not sure which is better.

I'd be down, but there's so much rng to this that even if you play the same way it gets totally different. Just like I usually only score around 2-3k in a normal round. These are not the norm, just the ones worth for a video :)
I think if people feel that strongly about not using roads to block off areas they can simply choose not to do that in their own game lol, to me it’s like fast travel in RPGs, you can choose not to do it for immersion, but the game allows it so some people are gonna use it.

Congrats on the high score, but just letting you know for the next time, letting the fast forward even at super speed show until the 115k is something I would watch, and avoids people in the comments saying you cheated and just changed numbers at the end. Therefore you get less stupid people here and more watch time for the youtube algorithm

Wish they'd allowed two modes: Blocking spawns, and "road must be connected" mode, which also limits how many road-tiles you're given.

If you have a spare motorway, you can move a motorway and still have it functional. You may need to move both ends though.

why do you 'block' right next to buildings (non-houses)? it has been confirmed houses can't spawn there ever so - free blocking already

Houses will never spawn near bussineses. The closest is diagonal.

Congrats on the high score, but just letting you know for the next time, letting the fast forward even at super speed show until the 115k is something I would watch, and avoids people in the comments saying you cheated and just changed numbers at the end. Therefore you get less stupid people here and more watch time for the youtube algorithm
