No, the guy with 30k was in second, he felt the guy with a score of A BILLION was cheating and i agree... Edit: the guy in first had a score of 2,000,020,007 and the guy in second had like 70k, but yeah, he did not think 30k was impossible.

i think an upgrade on the basic things already in the game would be cool big trucks are manual upgrades for the small houses and carry 4 things, but are slow buses are also manual upgrades for the small houses and carry 2 things and move at normal speed trains come from train stations, go on rails(variations of roads and use road supply), carry cars/trucks through land/mountains and are fast airplanes come from airports and work like motorways and are fast boats come from docks and work like airplanes but can only go on water and are fast all stations, airports and docks are linkable to each other (one way and two way) first ideas, could use some work edit: reply made 21(or 22) minutes after the original comment nice

Quick tip: Roundabouts are better but traffic lights still speed up intersections just a little bit and they take up less space than roundabouts. So if you were low on space you could use the lights
I think it would be interesting if there were "wild card" houses or destinations that a wide variety of colors will want to connect to. This would probably cause the roads to be a little more realistic since you have to make connections to many places. Alternatively, having delivery trucks that take multiple pins from one destination to the other (i.e green square to yellow circle) Potentially bulk satisfactions at the cost of forced connections... there is so many places it could go. I personally think that the realistic situations are more interesting as it gives you an eye into the actual industries. Also I think it's kind of weird that a house would only want to go to one place unless it was like a delivery service theme instead of just cars. So much potential but the game is still great nonetheless.

Q: Are the building spawns completely random in the game? A: Every tile in the map has a preference for what/how stuff spawns, but the colours etc is random. Also a preference is more like a bias/suggestion than actual truth. The preferences are stuff like High Supply (housing area), High Demand (Shop area), High Supply & Demand (mix of everything), Low Supply & Demand (usually islands and peninsulas)
There are multiple perfect cities. If you can manage to create a perfect city, your run will go forever and the only thing that matters after that is how long you afk. Unfortunately, he accidentally killed his run :/. But, you can't be sure if his run was perfect as he didn't make it to the "end." Not sure if they changed this, but there is a point where the ramping will bottom out and you can go on forver.
I learned how actually the game should be played by this video: It’s not about transportation of humans from houses to locations they wanna go, it’s about delivering enough customers to businesses. You can just leave some of the neighborhoods complete isolated from the city. It’s actually pretty realistic (and sad at the same time) as more than half of the population in the city where I live are thought to have never seen the coast, and I live in Istanbul, a metropolitan where two different seas are connected with Bosporus. Damn you modern capitalism! I had never let any house stay disconnected before, now I’ll go and try a brand new strategy, just for the business.
Thanks for playing the game. I've been watching other people play this game recently, and they're all cheesing and chat is cheesing. I'm glad to see that playing the game properly is viable
I think they should add "super houses" that have pickups/vans and take two products per trip, to compensate for the small parking lots, as long as you manage to route those "super houses" correctly to where they're needed.
scoreboard doesnt mean anything because every score over 10-15k can go forever, literally just indicates how long you run the game for before getting bored
It doesn't go forever. There is a limit to motorways (9), traffic lights/brigdes/tunnels (about 20 or so) and roads. After about 100 weeks you can only select roads and on week 400 you don't get offered anything anymore (and you can't get out of the selection screen). It takes at least 7 hours to get there. Needless to say, it's not worth it, i tried.
they should have upgrades/tiles/items like multistory parking garages (can hold 10 cars of any color, up to 6 colors or something like that) , parking lot size upgrade, bigger/more lanes upgrade, and buses (they can cut down on 4 houses worth of traffic but you have to set a route, like which specific 4 houses, and which buildings. They should also be a tad bit slower to balance it out)
Mini motorways plus mini metro would be insane. Now imagine if building in city skylines required good connections for workers else businesses would go out of business. Just like how people will move out if they are not satisfied.
Simple lil tip once a house is sent to a business do not change its destination or you'll have to add another house to the old business you took it from
wtf just happened at 0:20 also 3:40, the building locations are actually semi random the devs put out a presentation on the development for the game and they showed how maps are made they basically just paint over the map with markers saying buildings should spawn more often in certain areas so they can spawn anywhere, but they are more likely to spawn in certain locations which is what leads to the neighborhoods forming
At 0:17 he deletes a road that is currently in use and at 0:20 the grey putline of this deleted road disappears in an instant because he connected an alternative road that would lead the cars back to their houses
You should learn about the mechanic of blocking 2x3 locations to prevent buildings from spawning. If there are no 2x3 areas markets wont spawn. You can do this by using roads strategically by placing 2 length roads in a diagonal way which take up the most space. Houses may still spawn but buildings won't.

If you're stable at that point (you were quiteclose), you can just go on forever (and that's how you get those millions of points scores on the leaderboards, it's just some guy/gal farming points AFK)
Something that whould make this game more exiding whould be to add a bus terminal: you get it like tunnels and other stuff by completing a full week it's rare(about motorway rarity) It functions like a normal house, but it has 4 buses that are slower than cars but can transport 4 people at a time To get it to work, you need to have 4 houses right next to eachother(in a square formation) and place it there, the bus station forms and it gets 4 buses The houses can be of any colour, so if there are a green, a gray, a red and a blue house, it still forms a bus station(and there will be 1 bus for each house, so if there are 2 reds, a yellow and a green, there will be 2 red buses, and one yellow and one green) The conection to a road works like normal houses, where you can just connect it on any side BUT it can be connected to 2 sides, not just one, but it can only have 2 conections, no more each corner of the bus station will have it's respective color(but you don't need to connect it there, it's just to show which colours are there) Edit: a bus for each HOUSE, not colour
mini motorways+ mini metro = mini army march i think this would make a good game you will have an enemy in the map and you will have a base ,factories and houses then you can make tanks armored car and baragedes for soldiers the goal is to expand and take down the enemy base troops and factories - houses but the houses - factories have diferent colors like the blue house can only make soldiers with pistols blue factories can make armored cars but to make tank you need metal so you have to build in a mounten a mine and transport the iron to the factories so this is my idea i hope you like it

I want a mode where you can't lose to pins but there is timer and also you can put a certain amount of houses anywhere you want so you need to make something efficient and fast to get a high score.
Traffic lights only seem to be good when a less trafficked road is merging into a more trafficked road if it is a 4 way intersection. Since cars forcibly slow down at 4 ways the traffic light gives priority to the more populated road but periodically lets a minor road to enter while retaining the speed of the intersection for everyone. I think it would be especially useful if, say you had to cross two colors directly that are perpendicular to each other and one is a big circle and the other is a square. Square needs less traffic and so priority goes to big boy until its balanced out. They are very very niche but I believe there are some places for them. Generally every other option is better but they is a time to use them.
The problem with traffic lights in this game is that they allow equal time for each direction, so even if one of the roads is much more used it’ll still only get 50% of the allotted time
