The other thing is why the tires if your just going to have it next to the faucet? What I wish is a reel that you can hook up to the faucet and drag the reel to where you want it or need it. The reel should be with skids until you put it away for the season than quickly install the wheels. I hope you understand where I am coming from.
We’ll if I need to push the reel back into the garage the tires are a nice feature. And I couldn’t find a unit that didn’t require mounting that fit my criteria!
I'm just down the road from you in the Syracuse area and am also shopping for a solid, durable hose reel. Watched your video and have a question/concern, although it may be a little too early since your cart is only a year old. Have you had any issues with the belt yet? I can't tell what it is made of from the video. Depending on the material, I'm concerned that it will be a weak link in what, otherwise, appears to be a very solid unit. If and when it fails, do they offer a replacement? Thanks for the great video.
Hey Hog! Cool that you’re not far away! This is a solid unit. Mostly metal. Had for two seasons now. No rust or corrosion. Stays out 3 out of 4 seasons. No complaints about it. They do have a two year warranty. 👍 thanks for watching
Buy some extra belts now before they change the way its made and the belts become obsolete. This just happened with my Ames metal hose reel. They made my model so the parts that wear become irreplaceable and now i have to purchase a whole new reel at over 100. Manufacturers do this deliberately so you cant just fix it
Hey JB, highly considering getting this reel this season. Only thing is I really want to use a 3/4” hose to maximize pressure/volume for my 12k sqft backyard. Do you think I can connect a 3/4” hose even though it’s marketed for 5/8”?
Hey my friend! You should be able to! The coupler on the ends is 3/4. Where the hose connects to the unit is a 5/8 diameter pipe I believe so you’ll have a restriction there.
Please take your reel and turn upside down and drill at least 4 holes in the bottom so when it freezes it will not destroy your reel. You will say but there's no way for water to get down there but condensation and even rain water will find a way inside. Proof is take an empty milk jug and set it out in the sun with the cap loose and let it set for a week both day and night and see what happens.
I"m confused about these hose reel carts with wheels. You're limited to moving it just a few feet because of the spigot to cart hose, but even if you bought a longer hose for that, why move the reel? You're outside needing the hose not a hose reel. If I need hose to the far end of my yard, I pull more hose. It's easier to pull more hose than move a reel around and THEN pull more hose. What am I missing? I'm comparing these wheeled carts to a reel that's designed to remain stationary by the spigot, btw.
I guess it depends on your needs. Mine stays parked in place. But some people move them around their yards and having the wheel is necessary. Thanks for watching!
Come on! That’s usually me trying to put something together. That’s one great hose real JB! I have that same problem with winding and unwinding the hose. Especially winding it back up. This is definitely a must have. Now if I can only get you to assemble it? Haha. Cheers neighbor! Enjoy the hot and windy weather..
Haha! There’s always a mishap or two with every video! This thing fell completely off the workbench lol! Cheers my friend! Looks like some much needed rain today! The rain earlier this week gave the lawn a big boost! Hopefully you’re greening up a little too! Enjoy the day my friend!
JB - I have had this bad boy for over 4 years holding my 200ft of that premium Sears black rubber hose. It has been the only one to handle premium heavy duty hoses I have found. It's great that we think alike! Stay cool buddy!!!
You might not want to water your grass or garden during the time the sun is out. Great way to make your grass burn-looking. Thank you for the review on the water hose storage unit.
I have this hose reel or one very similar with 100" of 5/8" water hose. It's about 12 years old (Lowes) and has never failed me, tires are getting tired and need to be pumped up from time to time but other than that good product.
Last year I bought the Gorilla hose real that I like a lot, but the Giraffe looks great too! And I am in Tonawanda, so nice to see a locally-based TH-cam channel. Go Bills!

Hey King! Thanks for the positive feedback! 🤷♂️we’ll find out! Sometime I wind the tape in the correct direction… sometimes I don’t… time will tell lol! Thanks for watching! 👍
Wonder how long the mechanism that evenly spreads out the hose when rolling it up will last, looks like its plastic? Also the other plastic pieces that are exposed to the sun?
Haha just little to no rain! We got about an inch since I last filmed this video and now things are starting to green up! This time of year I let the lawn decide what’s going on! If it’s too hot with no rain I just let it go but still do weekly watering! Of at least an inch. But if we get some rain and the lawn hangs on I’ll push it a little to keep it green! Hope you’re getting some rain as well!

Assembly tip - spray "Internal Frame Coating" (auto body supply) inside all the Tubes before assembly. Seals metal on the inside to prevent Rusting.

What's the point in having a hose cart, but the hose coming from the house to the cart is 6-8 feet long and you can't "cart" the hose anywhere.
