I feel like you say that with every rebirth title you read, first it was superman then action comic now its green lantern. I wonder what's next lol, nice vid tho.
(spoilers regarding the powers of the Phantom Ring!) I'd pick Raven. Being an empath, she is well versed in controlling and harnessing the powers of her emotions, and of those around her. Constructs (and the many other powers of the different rings/lights of the emotional spectrum) would complement her psychic and telekinetic powers in way to allow her to fight Trigon and others as powerful as he is single handedly. She could go on to be somewhat of Sorcerer Supreme and deal with supernatural menaces, multidimensional imps, powerful demon lords, etc. Also, she could use astral projections, constructs, and those internal, different colored versions of her representing varied emotions in battle, aided by the full emotional spectrum. She'd be a one-woman army/corps, much like Larfleeze, but even more literal. 7 colored Ravens aiding the main Raven in combat would be a sight to amaze... These are the reasons I'd pick Raven to be THE Phantom Lantern, with her own Phantom Lantern Corps. (Phantom Raven also has a nice ring to it)
I wanna see Constantine wield the Phantom ring.... Just for the hell of it. I feel like since he has magic... using construct at the same time gives him a variety of options.
Batman should have it. I think he deserves some actual superpowers and the ring would be very effective in his hands seeing as he has creativity, imagination and intelligence.
Anyone can use the ring. A drunk hobo could put it on and use it. It can use any light in the Emotional Spectrum that corresponds with the emotion the user is feeling, it draws power from the Emotional Spectrum directly(no recharging). Yes, there is a downside: it may make you explode.
About the normal lantern rings choosing their wielders, it wasn't just who was worthy but it was also the fact that the ring is used as a medium to convert the specific emotion of the wielder + the energy of the central battery to be able to generate lantern energy and constructs. For instance Red Lanterns have to have great rage, if not, not only can they not use their ring but they will die. For Green Lanterns, is that they have to possess suficient willpower in order to power the ring and the ability to overcome fear in order to resist the Yellow Lanterns/Parallax.
Your right. John Stewart has been made irrelevant. All the other veteran earth green lanterns have become powerful and /or a lantern corp leader ( Hal Jordan , Kyle Radnor , Guy Gardener ).

Actually, empathy wasn't a prerequisite for being chosen to wield a green lantern ring - as you said, the guardians assumed that living creatures all had some degree of empathy, which at least made them better than the Manhunters. What the prospective bearer had to have is great willpower and the ability to overcome fear, which was probably in response to the guardians knowing Parallax was held captive inside the main green power battery. This is why you got Green Lanterns like Sinestro, who maybe didn't have great empathy but they had massive willpower.

Grey Scott I believe so but still a.) rob asked which lantern or hero and b.) can't he be both :D OK little biased cause he's awesome but I see what you mean.
Killah Bob That wouldn't work, Deadman does not carry empathy, will or rage, or hope per se. More duty bound, plus he isn't sentient. All lanterns are sentient, even larfleeze.
Kendall Fleming Makes sense. But can you please elaborate on the "isn't sentient" part. You kinda lost me in there, because the way I understand sentience is: Sentience is the capacity to feel, perceive, or experience subjectively.
Killah Bob In the blackest night storyline, Deadman maintains two rings respectively, a black ring and a white ring. There is a reason for why he didn't weild any other ring. Deadman is a tether between life and death and the weild of these two rings are the metaphor. Deadman was killed during a trapeze stunt by a person named the hook. Deadman has the ability to possess anyone he touches. Thus, he feels sentience through that person because they are humanoid not deadman himself. Sentience means you care about something to your own means. Even red lanterns want to see the survival of their kind. Deadman operates more from a stance of justice, what simply is subjectively right or wrong. He does not possess great rage, so scratch the red ring, his will power is only sufficient based on who he posses, so scratch the green ring, his motives are not of greed, so scratch the orange ring, he didn't experience the pain of another or his own, so scratch the indigo ring, his love took place as a human, scratch the Violet ring, he doesn't use fear to obtain his goals, scratch the yellow ring, he doesn't use hope to press forward since without will, hope is meaningless according to Saint walker, so scratch the blue ring, plus when your at deadmans level, you don't necessarily need will or hope to achieve your end goal. Black works because it doesn't care what your emotion is, or if you have one, long as your dead. White works because it's a representation of enlightenment, or something beyond death. White doesn't care whose dead, it brought villains and heroes back to life respectively. Deadman falls within these two categories. Black and white are prone to objective Sentience not subjective Sentience. Thus, the Phantom ring wouldn't work for deadman beyond bending life and death to his will. The others would require him to posses someone else to feel their emotions subjectively. On his own, Deadman is about duty, order, and balance like Dr. Fate. They do what's necessary to maintain the balance of the multiverse. Similar to the entity of death, the entity of death is necessary to create life, not because of subjective emotion, but because it's simply necessary. Deadman falls here greatly.
I don't think so, I suspect its closer to a gun with no safety. The white lantern run has all the powers of the other rings, the phantom ring is more like you can do the most basic lantern powers, meaning constructs, flight, energy blasts. Its like a... Grey lantern ring.
No, near the beggining of the whole Kyle must become the white lantern, so a LONG time ago, and Sayd "Hacked" Rings of every color to give Kyle, but he wasn't ready yet, and he became like a psuedo lantern, and he looked like a "Grey lantern"
Greeen Lantern is awesome Geoff John is why I love the green lanterns, Superman is my all time favorite hero but the green lanterns are my favorite story lines, especially last week when Hal became will and blew up planet and Sinestro
The Phantom ring and it's user are not effected by any constructs from any of the other power rings. The user is effectively a Phantom or Ghost when it comes to those other constructs. The same is true for the phantom constructs. They will pass right through the other rings constructs to hit the person. In other words, all other rings have no defense against a Phantom ring and no offensive ability to hurt the phantom rings user.
I found Green lanterns intriguing for years but since Hal and Barry's reemergence like Blackest Night I was really getting into the mythos. Also I believe Emerald twilight was another great story. That Hal Jordan arc against sinestro was crazy.
also on the topic of lanterns, could you discuss how powerful lantern ring combos would/could be? for Example: Rage lantern combined with Fear lantern. wouldn't that be neat??
John Stewart should wield the Phantom ring...He is the most powerful of the Green Lantern and it would make the most sense. Hal is the greatest and he is the guy who holds a Green lantern ring yet he teaches his student John more things like the ability to bend the color spectrum of the ring constructs. John has the GLOWING EYES and the GLOWING EYES should be symbolic of something. Plus when his will power exceeds the will of the ring, the Guardians meet with Rami and they convince him to put the Phantom ring on John Stewart...
remind me a lot of the White Lantern ring. it can happen to all the emotional Spectrum for it so yes it does make sense that way. Also I pick to weild the phantom ring it really comes down to either Batman or Wonder Woman as she is used to wielding weapons that many would consider to have Godly might.
I loved power glove hal Jordan, he's so bad! personally i would want Jiro osamu (batman japan) to uses the ring. the thought of a Japanese tokusatsu style superhero using the power of emotions to fight evil sounds awesome and very silver age. plus they're not really doing anything with him right now, so it opens a really big door for him to develop as a character.
I would pick Flash, because he can learn things at superhuman speeds and he's been chosen by a Blue Ring before. Also, what do you think is the source of power for the Phantom Ring? What's the emotion? If there even is one. Does it have a battery? Or does it simply never run out of power? If it does have a battery, does it have an oath to recharge it? If so, what would it be?
History of Video Games It was so painstakingly obviously a joke! The sarcasm of the stereotype is the substance of the joke. Sheesh do we all have to be pc all the time. You could exchange female with any other noun and you would offend somebody. I wish, Americans especially, would lighten up. If you saw %95 of the rest of the world most people wouldn't bitch tit for tat and quid pro quo over such trivial things. At the very least did you accomplish anything by your post (am I?) Like water off a duck man, water off a duck…
I can't see how anyone other than Batman would deserve the Phantom Ring - a man who, despite the absence of any actual superpowers, has become one of the most feared and respected superheroes across the world through his sheer determination, willpower and strength of character.
I swear up until I read Jeff johns green lantern run, I really never liked Green Lantern at all but after this, Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner become to of my favorite characters period. I also really like Jessica Cruz. I love the struggles she has as it extremely realistic. I love that. Simon is also really cool as well.
Easy one Rob: Superman's Son in the current DC rebirth. I feel like what makes him so unique is that he's not only getting the wholesome, good-natured upbringing that Clark Kent did, he's getting one that is uniquely tuned to him being a superhero one day. I feel like when it comes down to morally-good heroes who would wield an INSANE amount of power to prevent those who would do harm with it from getting it, Superman's son is going to come out on top (once he grows up). imagine this, if you will, rob... a story where superman's son and damian Wayne get sucked into some sort of time shifting (same idea as the -20 years or whatever that ozymandias did) and when the story arc is over.. we get a superman's son and damian Wayne THAT ARE OLDER THAN THEIR FATHERS. damian is a.. morally confused but more skilled batman (can straight beat him on experience alone) and a morally.. pure, essentially, Jonathan Kent. he could wield the damn infinity gauntlet AND the Phantom ring and I'd trust jon. over any a' those other "morally-conflicted" heroes, any day. just give me a shot of that pure, 100% superman mythos man.
Kyle Rayner would be my pick to wield the Phantom Ring. Plus he seems like the obvious choice since they have yet to bring him back into the new Rebirth universe. He was arguably an even greater GL than Hal Jordan. He overcame fear first, redirected the Guardians as little babies and taught them how to embrace emotions, and he single handedly restarted the Corps after Hal Jordan destroyed them.
+ComicsExplained I slight correction: The green lantern ring didn't reject him because he didn't have will power, it rejected him because it found the wrong person (a.k.a not it's target). Which makes his story both simultaneously funny and sad lol.
The problem with the idea of the Phantom Ring and the power ring being restricted is it's nonsense to a degree... Firstly... Hal Jordan, nor anyone else for that matter, need the Power Ring necessarily. The power ring is a focuser of the energy spectrum so that it allows people who normally would not be able to to be able to. Hal Jordan has been shown to be able to weild the power of the Green Spectrum without a ring. Secondly... The rings may "choose" the barer, but they don't prohibit people from using them. It just takes you to be in tune with that spectrum to be able to use the ring. This is why Batman can take and use any ring. Thirdly... I dunno if it has been retconned away, but Hal Jordan was not suitable to the power ring at first. The ring manipulated and altered his brain. Given that, there is no reason to even argue that there is a "limiter" because who ever where the ring, if the ring is programmed to do can just overright those traits that make them not compatible...
Saint Walker, if for any other reason than because he can represent the hope for a better future. In the long run he might be able to be the one that keeps the lanterns from making a grave decision that might end existence as we know it. Also it'd look badass to have him in the suit in the middle of the lantern spectrum, with every ring surrounding him, as if he's a wall and yet a bridge.
I can't believe you never were really in to the green lanterns they are awesome! but I'm glad u like them and are excited about them now the stories are really great
Terrible but fun ideas: Ambush Bug or Chemo. Terrible but interesting ideas: Martha Kent, Alfred Pennyworth, Joker, Plastic Man, Constantine Quality villains: Deathstroke, Riddler, Clock King Quality heroes: Any of the Robins, Steel, Lantern Mythos: One former Lantern on the edges of the continuity had his powers taken away despite the fact that he had the potential to think outside of the box than even Hal Jordan. The true choice has to be--Daffy Duck.
Thought long and hard about who would be a good candidate for the phantom ring, and I'd personally like to see Guy Gardner wield it. He's harnessed Willpower, Rage, and Love all the while showing a great deal of control channeling those emotions together let alone by themselves (except love).
I've always thought that there should be a grey and brown ring. As most artists know grey and brown are considered a mix of all colors. But the grey would be the mix of white and black lanterns. Finding a balance between life and death or something like that and brown is wielding all colored rings. Idk I had that idea and it seams like this phantom ring is more like the brown ring idea than anything else that's happened.
I would say Supeman, cause I am on the theory that it is a be all Lantern Ring possibly, Superman, at least this version the pre-new 52 that we have now, is fairly well verse in controlling his emotions and if it comes to the fact that the ring could take over I think he would be the best choice of it all. GRanted this is me speculating alot.
Frank Laminski (Phantom Lantern) is one of the most compelling and interesting villains I've seen DC create in a long time -- He supposedly trained to be a Green Lantern (unofficially) and believes having a power ring is his destiny. He's driven by the lust for glory and respect, but he's a COMPLETE NUTTER. He could legit become a Bizarro level character in the future, a villain who believes he can be a hero but fails over and over, an unstable anti-villain.
In Rebirth (Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps) Hal was able to make his own green ring. I really like this story line as well. The Green Lantern Corps have been captured by Yellow to feed the Fear Engine, which powers the yellow rings.
The revelation of the 1st Lantern storyline really explains why the Old Guardians could not be trusted. They sever their own Emotional connection to existence. The New Guardians still possessed their emotions as I expect Rami does but they too aimed to manipulate. The best option of this Phantom Ring would be to use the fact that many different people could use it. So maybe it will be the guy hinted in storyline 1st and I suspect Jessica Cruz will bear it til is delivered to Hal Jordan. His reaction could be anything from thanks to its pure evil just like its creator and we must destroy it. More potential than the end result of the 1st Lantern storyline. I think when we find out what powers it we will know on the spectrum its capacity for evil or good.
The best suggestions I've seen so far are Wonder Woman and Nightwing. But I would add Lobo to the list. Think about it, the Main Man with a lantern ring would be cool
If it has to be a lantern, I'd like to see Guy Gardner wielding it, the guy has already controlled two lantern rings at once so he could likely manage to control fairly well the Phantom Ring (PS: not counting Kyle Rayner 'cause he's already a White Lantern as is as powerfull as it gets imo), or maybe Hal Jordan, the guy is epic he could do whatever when it come to rings! But if it can be any superhero, I'd like to see Batman, the guy is amazing with anything you give him, he could very well findout how to use the ring and put it to good use.
Poison Ivy with the phantom ring...because she is a completely underrated threat. The constructs would be horrifying and probably so subtle you wouldn't see it coming. Magnify her powers to a planetary scale. this would be an amazing villain for the Corps to go up against. Maybe even drag Mogo out to play :D
Green Arrow, Aqua-Man (he does not just talk to fish...anymore jk) also Martian Manhunter would be responsible and interesting, but if this new ring allows you to double ring it... new ball game. If double rings are an option I know which GL Rob would pick he is tough as nails and would be more BA than ever also if he gets to make an oath for it I would love to see "In darkest alley, Dead of night No evil-deemed, Escapes what's right And those in need, Who need a light Shall see the beatdown, Guy Garder FIGHT"
If the ring just gets an oath for anyone it should be "Emotions fail, We've lost our sight When losing hope, And strong can't fight Those that know, The weakness blight Dawn this ring, The Phantom RIGHT"
Just thinking about this ring and the fact that anyone who wields it would have to be able to defend it...I'd say Superman should have it or even better Superboy (Jon). He's young so he could grow up with two power sets and even without a charge, he'd be hard to take it from. Plus his dad is Superman, his cousin is Supergirl, and then there's Lana now as Superwoman, and Krypto, I think the ring would be safe. Depending upon the rings powers, I think he'd be pretty OP. I love Jon, so I think it'd be cool. Batman would be stupid. Goes against him being a bad ass if he has to use a power ring. Maybe a Daxamite, but Jon is still my pick.
I would choose the Batman. In the animated show called "The Batman" he used Hal Jordan's ring and was very adept with it. We know Batman has plenty of willpower so he would make a great choice for the Phantom Ring.
I want a bad guy to wield it. Maybe have a change of heart later down the line or maybe stay bad and become a new villain. Or maybe exchanged between a lot of regular people when facing a huge threat. The heroes trying to stop someone bad when the phantom ring falls to the ground among the citizens. A fireman picking it up and using it to protect his city but falling. a father picking it up to save his children but falling. a teacher picking it up to save her home but falling. Keep going until the battle is won. Show the willingness in everyday people to stand up for something. They may all be different reasons but reason enough to stand and fight for a good cause. Maybe after that it can be held by the people in some manner.
Who drew those fingernails on Jessica's gloves? Lord. Drawing aside, I feel like every title in the DC Rebirth series is just stellar. They constantly just keep expanding and growing the mythos of their franchises. Now if only they could have a decent publishing schedule. Also, do you think that we'll see Kyle Rander pop up some time soon Rob? Maybe he'll become the owner of this Phantom Ring then he goes Superboy-Prime levels of crazy. Lol.
You know, the thought that white is the spectrum of life in total gives me an idea about this ring and lantern concept. What if the phantom ring is un-life? The ability of death sight or even call back the dead and communicate with them. Phantom has been analog with ghost and spirit in the past. I would be highly pleased if this were the case.
+comicsexplained love your videos, you've kept me up to date and current with comics and got me into buying again THANK YOU! but what is the name of that guitar track in the first 3 mins of the vid. you used to use it alot i love it i need it in my playlist what is is it!!!? message me something anyone what is it!!!!!!!?
Green Lanterns is one of the best DC Rebirth titles and there's no two ways about it.

green lanterns is really great

Holy shit, this.
Kevin Nguyen Lol just had the same idea
Kevin Nguyen Ha! A majestical lantern
Kevin Nguyen DEXSTARR IS THE ANSWER
I wanna see another ring wield the phantom ring
Batman should have it. I think he deserves some actual superpowers and the ring would be very effective in his hands seeing as he has creativity, imagination and intelligence.
He used yellow ring quite efficently
None of your business Nope. No more Batman special treatment please. Plus that breaks the significance of the character he represents.
Basically. Batman should wield it BECAUSE HE'S BATMAN. :D
RaginDXDemon You must be fun at parties
Damn straight 😎
Look all I'm saying is that Batman can use this ring.
Yeah, and then we'd combine the to names into something cool like... Phatman
Anyone can use the ring. A drunk hobo could put it on and use it. It can use any light in the Emotional Spectrum that corresponds with the emotion the user is feeling, it draws power from the Emotional Spectrum directly(no recharging). Yes, there is a downside: it may make you explode.
or go insane.
Look, all I'm saying is that Batman would make a better yellow lantern.
About the normal lantern rings choosing their wielders, it wasn't just who was worthy but it was also the fact that the ring is used as a medium to convert the specific emotion of the wielder + the energy of the central battery to be able to generate lantern energy and constructs. I want John Stewart to have it. Make him relevant again.
Connor C This is the first one I've seen that I like and agree with.
Connor C yep I agree
Connor C He leads the entire Green Lantern Corps right Now, he's more relevant than ever.
Your right. John Stewart has been made irrelevant. All the other veteran earth green lanterns have become powerful and /or a lantern corp leader ( Hal Jordan , Kyle Radnor , Guy Gardener ).
I wish there was more on larfleeze, aka orange lantern.
Genius Potion we love Larfleeze
Awesome!!!
He will be in Hals book.
Oohhhh ok good
Andreas Achilleos what about the indigo lanterns? The most enigmatic corps
I'd pick either Dr Fate or Martian Manhunter to wear the Phantom Ring. It'd be interesting to see if any exchange of power would take place between Fate's helmet & the ring, and Jonn has such a wide array of powers, I'd love to see how much more powerful he could really come.
Oh god. Man hunter with the helmet of Nabuu and the phantom ri g.
3.14 Dragon niiiice. This would be awesome but prob OP too
Khalil Rashad Naseer I would like to see phantom stranger with the phantom lantern ring
Tim Karlsson Niiiiice... Clever too. I'm sure he'd be a beast!
Tim Karlsson Speaking of Phantom Stranger, I'd like to see Constantine with the Phantom Ring. Just to see how his whole laid back, workin man, middle class image would change with such a powerful outside force driving it. Like, what would the powered up version of that look like?
Phantom Ring. Batman should get it. His moral compass is perfect for it.
Nanette Sage nope
Living Among Us that's what I was thinking I WANNA KILL EM THE OL FASHIONED WAY! lol
Nanette Sage If batman got it then his skills would get rusty. He would rely more on the ring then his training.
Jimmy Olsen. Getting different powers and abilities out of nowhere is kind of his thing.
Is this the origin of the Rob Corps. ring?
the power of the rob corps is silky smooth voices and comic book knowledge
ALAN SCOTT!
Sweet Christmas! Have a like.
Man, your love and passion of comic is very infectious
Is there any other choice? Batman
I've been a sober viewer for months and now I'm tipsy af and as soon as Rob said to subscribe I did without a second thought. damn you and your deep enticing voice Rob. All hail the Rob Corp
Guy Gardner, boy deserves to be able to go solo and have time in the lime light
Rob, thank you as a open Green Lantern fanboy I appreciate these stories being put on your channel
I'd choose Batman to wield the Phantom Ring. I mean the guy is practically full of will power and possibly altruism.
Nope, there is a comic where Batman could not keep his will power in check. He was overwhelmed by the ring's power... just google it.
Patrick Mut batman was overwhelmed by his emotions since batman has remembered every tragedy in vivid details, the ring helps amplify and went wild because it was met with so many overwhelming emotions
Thankyou for posting this! Such an informative video, Green Lantern is my favourite superhero series and I've followed Geoff Johns run and started Guardians.
Definitely will be picking this one up!
what would happen of the hulk put on a red lantern ring?
instant universal tap out, submission, cries for uncle, etc. that's too much, and I want to see this happen.
It was shown in Atrocitus' back story that if he hadn't created the reds that he would have lead a revolt against the government and won and then become an evil dictator. It was always in him to bend others to his will. Hulk usually is always a good guy, especially in the end. So giving the Hulk a red ring would make him more of a cosmic level (no upper limit) being that would use the powers of rage to stop others from experiencing the pain.
Christopher Lugo death
red lantern energy replaces the users blood. hulk gets stronger from his gamma infected blood.
Christopher Lugo we all die
The new comics explained videos are the highlights of my day.
Something tells me that the Phantom Ring is not as powerful as the White Lantern.
Excellent work, sir. I truly enjoy what you do.
One ring to rule them all! too easy :)
I feel like this should lead to an event where the leaders of all the ring cores use the ring, and in its exposure to the emotional spectrum the ring becomes sentient, and forms itself a new body with the ring at its core, similar to The Vision from the Marvel cinematic universe.
Besides that, I would like to see the powerless Clark Kent that's walking around to be chosen by the ring, as he has obvious potential as an individual.. Although it would ruin his human life, which was kinda the whole point of his character, to have a normal life..
I will peak Superman because he is pure and knows how to manage power (new or old).
Good point man!
Patrick Mut HELL TO THE NO I WONT BE ABLE TO BEAT HIM TO DEATH ANYMORE .... );
Patrick Mut all it takes is someone to trick him into killing Louis and all that flies out the window....... u just gave a powerful ring to a powerful villain, id giv it to Batman
Super man is powerful enough already this ring would make him a literal cheat code
Green Lanterns is soooooo good! Jessica and Simon are climbing the list of my favorite Green Lantern members.
As for who should wield the Phantom Lantern ring... that's a difficult question. It needs to be someone who is in control of their emotions and can call each at will. While Hal Jordan may be a great candidate, I think it should be someone like Soranik Natu. She can wield the green and the yellow rings, but she doesn't left fear be her motivator when she was in the Sinestro Corp.
Rami is a real name and is pronounced "Raw-me".
I would pick the best lantern there is...Kyle Rayner
Jay Ditto Yeah but isn't he still a white lantern?
Grey Scott I believe so but still a.) rob asked which lantern or hero and b.) can't he be both :D OK little biased cause he's awesome but I see what you mean.
Kilowog will always be my favorite GL.
So Rammy crated the phantom ring?
Rammy Phantom anyone?
…Is anyone even gonna get that?
The Banana Melon ...HES A PHAMTOM
I do but you gotta do better, my friend.
The Banana Melon Becausw *whispers* a phantom
Danny phantom reference sweet😎
man love the videos ,bare of my mates are getting into comics cos of you man thanks, love some more Asgard stuff!
What if Deadman would wield the Phantom Ring?
Killah Bob I was thinking about that but... he's a ghost how would he wield it??? and also how would he go through walls with it on
Killah Bob That wouldn't work, Deadman does not carry empathy, will or rage, or hope per se.

Kendall Fleming, how long did it take you to type this?
we love your content man. your the most detail and most epic reader and comic master. batman would be my pick to hold the phantom ring
phantom lantern = man made white lanterns?
that's how I see it. A fake white lantern ring
KRYMauL He is
I don't think so, I suspect its closer to a gun with no safety. The white lantern run has all the powers of the other rings, the phantom ring is more like you can do the most basic lantern powers, meaning constructs, flight, energy blasts. Its like a... Grey lantern ring.
we also haven't seen it power except for this one episode so it may have a catch, at least we know you can take it off unlike the red lantern rings
I think I should have the phantom ring
The Phantom ring and it's user are not effected by any constructs from any of the other power rings. The user is effectively a Phantom or Ghost when it comes to those other constructs. The same is true for the phantom constructs. They will pass right through the other rings constructs to hit the person. In other words, all other rings have no defense against a Phantom ring and no offensive ability to hurt the phantom rings user.
🤔Guy, he seems to be able to handle what ever ring or power he gets🙄
I found Green lanterns intriguing for years but since Hal and Barry's reemergence like Blackest Night I was really getting into the mythos. Also I believe Emerald twilight was another great story. That Hal Jordan arc against sinestro was crazy.
in my opinion Batman for the Phantom Lantern ring
1:39 seconds in, and you've managed to bore me to tears.TL;DW
I'm only saying batman because i miss fear batman
also on the topic of lanterns, could you discuss how powerful lantern ring combos would/could be? for Example: Rage lantern combined with Fear lantern. wouldn't that be neat??
Hope and Love would be the Loveless Ring.
Steve Buscemi dude that's a sick idea. The rage Instills fear into ones self and others. Which gives more power to the fear ring. Very interesting
Noah Fogle maybe even like Will and fear. Your will power strikes fear into the hearts of the enemy
And then like Will and hope. Your will power brings hope to those who see your heroics which in turn makes you a more powerful green lantern
I saw someone say Constantine somewhere. I wholeheartedly agree. He would be savage with that phantom ring. I mean SAVAGE!!!!!
kingdom come allen scott should have the phantom ring
John Stewart should wield the Phantom ring...He is the most powerful of the Green Lantern and it would make the most sense. Hal is the greatest and he is the guy who holds a Green lantern ring yet he teaches his student John more things like the ability to bend the color spectrum of the ring constructs. John has the GLOWING EYES and the GLOWING EYES should be symbolic of something. Plus when his will power exceeds the will of the ring, the Guardians meet with Rami and they convince him to put the Phantom ring on John Stewart...
Deadman should get it.
sacduolcno Deadman and anyone he possesses can have access to the power. aben sur also
remind me a lot of the White Lantern ring. it can happen to all the emotional Spectrum for it so yes it does make sense that way. Also I pick to weild the phantom ring it really comes down to either Batman or Wonder Woman as she is used to wielding weapons that many would consider to have Godly might.
phantom ring? deadman?
I loved power glove hal Jordan, he's so bad! personally i would want Jiro osamu (batman japan) to uses the ring. the thought of a Japanese tokusatsu style superhero using the power of emotions to fight evil sounds awesome and very silver age. plus they're not really doing anything with him right now, so it opens a really big door for him to develop as a character.
This ring needs to be taken to MT Morodoor and distorted!!!
Why do these stories you tell never have an ending?
History of Video Games lmao
This comment makes me think you dont read comics.
History of Video Games you didn't have to explain. of course he was joking
I wouldn't know any of this unless I was watching your channel and the Green Lantern myths has just gone boom. Keep it up man. Sip on my 40 and watch.
Dc has been killing it lately. marvel.... you hang in there
+ComicsExplained I slight correction: The green lantern ring didn't reject him because he didn't have will power, it rejected him because it found the wrong person (a.k.a not it's target). Which makes his story both simultaneously funny and sad lol.
On a civil war video I said some not nice things about your channel, and I must say I DO APOLOGISE. YOUR AWESOME. GREAT VIDEO.
Ps: im happy they are creating new. Johns was fantastic, but Johns created very little "new", he respun stuff really well tho!!!
Terrible but interesting ideas: Martha Kent, Alfred Pennyworth, Joker, Plastic Man, Constantine
Quality villains: Deathstroke, Riddler, Clock King
Quality heroes: Any of the Robins, Steel,
Lantern Mythos: One former Lantern on the edges of the continuity had his powers taken away despite the fact that he had the potential to think outside of the box than even Hal Jordan. The true choice has to be--Daffy Duck.
GL John Stewart welding phantom ring would be amazing!
Idk I had that idea and it seams like this phantom ring is more like the brown ring idea than anything else that's happened.
yay broke my ankle a while ago been loving these vids
man some of your videos are so much quieter than others like with this one I cannot understand it but other ones come across crystal clear
One Ring to Rule Them ALL!!!!!
I like the way you think!
OK as a Lantern fan and a Comics Explain fan I'm just going to say it, one ring to rule them all
Hooray! More green lantern content!! 😀😀
Green lantern is my favourite comic book story. It’s just awesome.😀😀😀😀😀😀😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃👌👌👌😀😀😀
I would pick Larfleez. because that would be a hilarious story
The best suggestions I've seen so far are Wonder Woman and Nightwing. But I would add Lobo to the list. Think about it, the Main Man with a lantern ring would be cool
when you forget to leave a like and you come back and watch the whole video again and leave a like 😆 keep up the good work Rob👌🖒
At the end of every sentence rob says I want to say amen
If it has to be a lantern, I'd like to see Guy Gardner wielding it, the guy has already controlled two lantern rings at once so he could likely manage to control fairly well the Phantom Ring (PS: not counting Kyle Rayner 'cause he's already a White Lantern as is as powerfull as it gets imo), or maybe Hal Jordan, the guy is epic he could do whatever when it come to rings!
But if it can be any superhero, I'd like to see Batman, the guy is amazing with anything you give him, he could very well findout how to use the ring and put it to good use.
Great video. Out of the GL's, Kyle Rayner or Hal would be my choices.
If double rings are an option I know which GL Rob would pick he is tough as nails and would be more BA than ever also if he gets to make an oath for it I would love to see
"In darkest alley, Dead of night
No evil-deemed, Escapes what's right
And those in need, Who need a light
Shall see the beatdown, Guy Garder FIGHT"
If the ring just gets an oath for anyone it should be
"Emotions fail, We've lost our sight
When losing hope, And strong can't fight
Those that know, The weakness blight
Dawn this ring, The Phantom RIGHT"
Batman would be a great Phantom Lantern. Either him or Barry Allen would do great with it.
Guy Gardner, simple as that. The power of the bowl cut commands it.
Seeing a lot of people say Batman and I agree, but I feel like Tim is the perfect candidate for the Phantom Ring.
Martian Manhunter, Nightwing, or #1 pick, Jim Gordon, poor fella could use a break. Alfred would be funny too lol.
Lol.
Green Lanterns is my favourite DC Storyline. Yes Flash is good and cool, but the Green Lanterns is wayyyyy interesting.
Batman with the phantom ring, his smarts, imagination and ingenuity coupled with his willpower would make him the Ultimate protector of DC.
