Holy Priest hands down. I main a Holy Priest since Cata and we had our ups and downs but this season I feel like it's so difficult just to muscle heal which is what we have to do. We need a complete rework. Our mobility sucks, our dispel profile sucks, our utility sucks. With the way Blizzard is designing mythic plus we just can't muscle anymore. We don't even spec into two AOE heals in M+ because they suck that is a problem!
One vote for Holy priest! It’s fun I like the whack-a-mole healing style. But Holy priest just lacks of tool kit to deal with urgent party wide dmg without casting. We can’t save the team while moving. That’s the most frustrating part. :(
Holy priest needs a full spec revamp (Class tree too) Spec needs to be more flexible, the spec tree is too restrictive. Spec needs more flavor and fantasy. You are supposed to be a full light caster and from a vfx standpoint it is very lackluster, you are just a flash heal/heal/hw serenity bot. Spec has a tons of outdated and unused spells that could be very fun and engaging with the holy caster fantasy like PoH, CoH, SPIRIT OF REDEMPTION. Holy priest needs full and big changes right now
Holy priest is tough. The issue isn't me being able to heal MOST of the group up during AOE, it's keepin g MY health up while I do so. We don't have enough spread quivck enough. You can use BOTH charges of sanctify and you'd have been better off using a flash heal linked. Sanctify has a pretty long cd, and doesn't get reduced by pthers spells outside of Prayer of healing spells no one takes. Nothing buffs it. And its healing output is REALLY low. in fact, I'd say it needs a 250% buff. It's so bad atm.
I think you need to read that talents again with holy priest. Sanctify lowers cool down on prayer of mending and renew. Also it's ok with Oracle if you know how to play it. But you're right. Holy priest still needs some love

I'm glad for you it's ok, I'm happy you're able to do high mythic+ keys as holy such as 15s and 17s. Cause that's where you would be able to see the issues at hand many have. @@johnlinks I think you need to read hpriest talents again not him, prayer of mending reduces serenity cd not sanctify, and renew does only 2 seconds. So holy priest has basically no renewable aoe heal outside of cringe 1 minute hero talent aoe heals.
Definitely considering switching from rsham to mistweaver in next patch. Aside from the higher risk of being in melee range the overall rotation and design feels so much more fluid and fun. Plus that mana tea is fire
As a holy priest, we heavily rely on casting two core spells flash heal and heal. But in high keys or raids, there are so much mobility required which force us to move and during moving we cannot cast our core spells. The incoming flash heal buff is a good thing. I think to tackle the mobility issue is to increase the chance to provide surge of light and increase its maximum charge (current cap at 2). The instant flash heal can solve the mobility issue. The other small change is the apotheosis, I use it as an emergency tool as holy really don’t have many tool kit to deal with urgent healing time. I think they really rework how apotheosis works eg at least make it no gcd! As a reactive healer I’m surprised holy priest lacks of instant tool to deal with urgent healing.
I like the spot heal niche for hpri, but it doesn't really work for m+. Not a fan of circle of healing and prayer of healing is super weak for reasons I don't understand.
I personally love the way AC Lightsmith feels at the moment. I love the Judgment crit heals and the bursty, low CD nature of it. The buffs you can put out onto dps and tanks with weapons and blessings is great. It’s a shame that the wider player base does not have the same view as me, because I can pump when I need to. Not to mention H pally brings brez.
farseer is funnier, in my opinion better designed and better off CDs. but i feel it has more troubles on higher keys like COT +13 and higher - last boss
Regarding resto shaman and mana i'd say you're not wrong, but i personally feel it's also the only spec where i feel my mana is almost like a mini cooldown i can tap into at any time as long as the resource is available. I started TWW maining Holy pala with a Resto shaman alt and have recently also picked up Disc Priest (which i personally find a little boring) and Mistweaver monk which i'm absolutely enjoying right now and will likely be my main rolling into season 2. All of these healers i feel like i have to think about and sometimes even plan my cooldowns to make sure i can aptly heal certain mechanics and heal checks, but with resto shaman i feel like i always have the option to just spend more mana to crank up the healing. I play Farseer personally and it's especially pronounced here, where with the other healing classes i usually needed a cooldown, but with Farseer i can just prep by having enough Riptides on the group and maybe a Cloudburst out - press Ancestral Swiftness for that extra ancestor and just muscle through by ramming chain heals to consume all the riptide buffs (using the talent). I've cranked over 2m hps at 622 ilevel without committing a real 1 min+ cooldown which is something none of the other healer classes i play can do, but it comes at the cost of increased mana consumption.
The state of Holy Priest just makes me sad. It feels like other healer specs have it so easy while Holy Priest have been struggling the whole season. Holy needs better buffs to be on par with the other specs.
Absolutely despise when healer dps was meta, it’s so bad for the game. If you want to heal through dps like disc/fistweaving cool more power to you, but a healer’s priority should always be healing over dps
I agree. When healing your ass off and soaking orbs/dispelling... then still getting comments about not doing dps... excuse me? Really sucks yeah, but then when anything goes wrong it's instantly the healers fault.
bad take, Would be like saying a tanks only job is to just tank, No Cc , No mobility, A Dps job is only to DPS never bother pressing offheals, A healer should always be trying to min max DPS its the nature of the role, people do not need healing 24/7 there will always be downtime, min maxing dps as healer is a good skillgap to have IMO
Disagree, I actually liked healer DPS meta (provided Blizz actually put in one iota of effort to balance it). Healer DPS was a great way to show skill expression. Maximizing DPS to help the group through timed content while still meeting healing needs was fun and rewarding gameplay.
Man when will people stop crying about this sh!t. DPSing as a healer is a fantastic idea. Dealing damage is a lot more fun than covering up other people's mistakes 24/7, it gives you something useful to do during low damage intake, makes the rotation more continuous and fluid rather than sleeping in-between taking damage, adds a layer of complexity for more skill expression... I love healing in retail. Tried it in classic and wanted to kill myself from boredom after continuously spamming only 1 ability AND STILL being forced to drink 10-15s between every other pull because the role is so poorly designed.
Definitely appreciate the comments particularly calling out Prayer of Healing. I don't think it's bad for there to be a spot-healing niche for those who want to play it, but I don't want to play it. But IN THEORY , Holy Priest has a bunch of spells for various scenarios, but they're all horrendously tuned right now. In City of Threads and Stone Vault, PoH should be able to do something, but they don't. Most HPriests don't even take PoH & CoH. Currently taking a very heavy prescription of Copium that these bizarre changes are because they're cooking some major adjustments to the way PoH and CoH work in 11.1. I don't want to play whack-a-mole. Flash Concentration wasn't fun ("fun" and "powerful" are not synonymous). Lightweaver isn't fun. I like having a spell for every situation, and I don't mind the challenge of needing to find a place to stand so I can do a bunch of long casts. What I despise is having to stay still because I can't push 5 bars simultaneously and instead have to Lightweaver Trail of Light through the group before I can move.
Hpal is not "bad" by any means. But didnt really deserve most of the nerfs it got during S1. We lost so much spot healing. Herald which was rewarded as the most fun and well designed Hero spec fell behind. LS AC while fun feels like an unintended playstyle that is sustainef by high tuned numbers and RNG. Out core gameplay is currently (and once again) broken. We stiill have no proper ways of mana regen and BoW is pathethic at best. Holy shock and SotR are the ones that needs buffs.
7/8 mythic working on queen right now, our only hpal player. My thoughts on AC are this, it’s whatever and definitely lacks agency to who you’re healing. But the last time AC was good was Aberrus and I wasn’t as good as I am now, and that was the first tier I mythic raided. So for me personally, I’ve been enjoying it. But I definitely enjoy the vibe and gameplay of Herald more in general that we had in the beginning of the tier.
Holy priest needs rework the most, would like to see they spirit form changed in a way so it could be useful, maybe move a talents a bit so people could access it easily. Despite mass dispel, class has little to no utility and is very slow. The other spec I m not a fan of is resto druid. Blizz tried it a bit, but I would love to see more swiching between forms and it should be more fast paced, easier to do it. Now its mostly ton of hots and refresh, if low damage swich to cat for a bit. They could allow us to interupt first and swich to cat after or give solar interupt balance has. My idea, that in pugs its extra hard to play without reliable interupt, blizz could do something about that

The best way to fix healer is to buff tanks back to what they used to be. Thats one less person heals has to worry about and it will allow other healers to shine. Disc is good cause if pala but monk could be great with resto druid, warrior is great with shamman. Blood DK also helps holy pala a lot
CoH should hit like Radiance, give it a bigger CD if needed or let it buff PoH to a real AoE-Heal for 20sec or something…at least we would have a toolkit for those AoEDmg then. Or make HolyWord: Sanctify at least a real Groupheal and not that Area-Shit, that forces the Group to stack. The Talents we have to improve AoE-Healing are not worth the points…so make it baseline and give us options for a more AoE-Style Gameplay in Raids instead, so we can adapt to the situation if needed…that was always the strengh of Holypriests, to be able to tweak the kit to the situation. We have the toolkit, all it needs is the talents to support them…
Mana isn't irrelevant on mistweaver, it's more something you have to manage every so often with mana tea or the occasional drink. I feel it's how mana management should be. Conservation only is a boring mechanic. Of course, you will fare better, playing with higher skilled players.
Don't call mana tea OP, we don't want it nerfing! :') Nursing that blue bar is exhausting and tedious, and I really hate it when my resto shaman is doing great for the first 70% of a raid boss but is oom now so I guess I won't play the game for 2 minutes... There shouldn't just be like 3-4 specs in the game who have to worry about permanently running out of resource during a fight, that's not a fun mechanic.
I hate the Rsham mana issue, I don't like drink on every pull. I swapped to MW monk and my mana is infinte. Don't understand what Im doing wrong with my RSham, past seasons I had fun with her, now I hate it T_T
The holy priest talent tree even with changes in DF is still a joke prayer of healing is made to be a joke becuase of the top % tunning. There's so mcuh unecessary fragmentation in the holy tree it feels so bad for like 2/3 talent points you are made to pick and even if you pick anything that affects PoH, it's just not even close to enough. And this is being ignored since DF.
Just gonna stick with my pres evoker and my mistweaver and occasionally play the hpal. Myth + new system is a dumpster fire so I no longer have interest in going for rating anymore.

No, I don't like the lightweaver gameplay at all. Or rather, in m+ it's fine because it emphasises spot healing, but I'd like to have something to heal the aoe damage too, be it a CD or a spell to use. As for raiding, I think having all this ST healing is useful but totally boring. I've always played holy priest since I've been playing wow, and I've always gotten CE from multiple raids. Honestly, the patches where I had the most fun playing holy priest were the ones where aoe healing was heavily emphasised. Aberrus and Nyalotha, to name a few, were very fun tiers as I got to play the holy priest in the most fun and relaxing way, using the full class kit. Currently the only spells that give satisfaction are, heal and serenity, everything else is stuff that sits there getting mouldy waiting to be buffed
The change I want to see is that people look less on meta. All this meta and tier list talking is just for the highest content you can do. It’s just not relevant for the average player but still everyone looks at it and decide their class based on it and invite for keys based on it.
As someone who couldn't stand HPal wil Glimmer, I love the Lightsmith/AC playstyle. It's so much fun. It's the reason I moved to Pally as my main this season - I like being able to play multiple roles, and Pally has fun gameplay now in all 3.
They must revert the interrupt changes that they made before the start of the season. I don't think people understand just how big of an impact this made on M+. People overlap their kicks or say they aren't using them because the mobs just start casting again so they aren't effective. So people are kicking less and this impacts all other aspects of the key. Change it back Blizz and I'll come back and start healing again. Right now I'm playing Diablo 2 Res. because I love the game and it's my go to when I get burned out on the season.
Rshaman is a usless healer unless is a good group! mana issues make it kinda usless and the one shot mechanics and too dot dmg! But blizz lets nerf it😂

If Holy Priest got a version of Ultimate Penance, it would cover a big gap in the toolkit.

Farseer shaman is a little more complex, but I feel I can push thru easier without using cooldowns on farseer and awesome single target healing.

I want adapative swarm back on rdruid. Rdruid are 2% of healers... amazing ... I feel rdruid to be always forgotten
I agree, and also, for me, putting flourish on the same node as photosynthesis was a really bad thing to do
No lol. Adaptive swarm was TERRIBLE from a rotational perspective. They just baked its power back into the other spells and NO ONE wants it back.

Don't call mana tea OP, we don't want it nerfing! :') Nursing that blue bar is exhausting and tedious, and I really hate it when my resto shaman is doing great for the first 70% of a raid boss but is oom now so I guess I won't play the game for 2 minutes... There shouldn't just be like 3-4 specs in the game who have to worry about permanently running out of resource during a fight, that's not a fun mechanic.

I hate the Rsham mana issue, I don't like drink on every pull. I swapped to MW monk and my mana is infinte. Don't understand what Im doing wrong with my RSham, past seasons I had fun with her, now I hate it T_T
The holy priest talent tree even with changes in DF is still a joke prayer of healing is made to be a joke becuase of the top % tunning.
There's so mcuh unecessary fragmentation in the holy tree it feels so bad for like 2/3 talent points you are made to pick and even if you pick anything that affects PoH, it's just not even close to enough.
And this is being ignored since DF.
To holy priest: Bring back the DragonFlight seson 3 set bonuses in the talent tree. More free holy words=more aoe heal in mithyc+.
No.. Hpriest needs a full spec tree revamp. This you are suggesting is just a patch. The moment you lose that bonus you are trash again.

Just gonna stick with my pres evoker and my mistweaver and occasionally play the hpal. Myth + new system is a dumpster fire so I no longer have interest in going for rating anymore.

No, I don't like the lightweaver gameplay at all. Or rather, in m+ it's fine because it emphasises spot healing, but I'd like to have something to heal the aoe damage too, be it a CD or a spell to use. As for raiding, I think having all this ST healing is useful but totally boring. I've always played holy priest since I've been playing wow, and I've always gotten CE from multiple raids. Honestly, the patches where I had the most fun playing holy priest were the ones where aoe healing was heavily emphasised. Aberrus and Nyalotha, to name a few, were very fun tiers as I got to play the holy priest in the most fun and relaxing way, using the full class kit. Currently the only spells that give satisfaction are, heal and serenity, everything else is stuff that sits there getting mouldy waiting to be buffed
The change I want to see is that people look less on meta. All this meta and tier list talking is just for the highest content you can do. It’s just not relevant for the average player but still everyone looks at it and decide their class based on it and invite for keys based on it.
As someone who couldn't stand HPal wil Glimmer, I love the Lightsmith/AC playstyle. It's so much fun. It's the reason I moved to Pally as my main this season - I like being able to play multiple roles, and Pally has fun gameplay now in all 3.
They must revert the interrupt changes that they made before the start of the season. I don't think people understand just how big of an impact this made on M+. People overlap their kicks or say they aren't using them because the mobs just start casting again so they aren't effective. So people are kicking less and this impacts all other aspects of the key. Change it back Blizz and I'll come back and start healing again. Right now I'm playing Diablo 2 Res. because I love the game and it's my go to when I get burned out on the season.
Rshaman is a usless healer unless is a good group! mana issues make it kinda usless and the one shot mechanics and too dot dmg! But blizz lets nerf it😂

Holy Priest is just not fun to play this tier 😢Complete whack-a-mole snooze fest. Yes I can pump some HPS but it feels bad not playing Salv in raid because your AoE heals are trumped by others.
