  • There’s a perception, especially in southern Africa, that domestic consumers aren’t interested in homegrown baobab products, preferring instead fancy imported products from other parts of the world. But that’s not true. It just requires some innovative entrepreneurs to present baobab products in a way that local consumers want. I was in Malawi recently and I saw a very creative brand that are doing wonderful things with baobab juice on the local market. Here’s a quick Behind the Scenes look.

Baobab trees favour to grow in areas with less rain fall and hard clay like soil. This is why it's found in some parts of Africa and some don't have it. I used to live in Nyanga- Katerere area and all that region is full of these trees. We used to make porridge and (mahewu) a traditional drink usually made from sorghum flour, finger millet flour and I can say most grains. Very health even without sugar it still taste nice. Thank you for reminding me of my childhood ❤️😘
