@@TheDriftwoodlover Agree. In addition to my husban's card and gift, I sent Valentines and gifts to my sisters, kids and family. Everyone of them thanked me and loved being remembered on Valentine's Day. Particularly this year, we're all looking for love and connection.
@@TheDriftwoodlover We don’t as it’s not a huge tradition in Germany. We never ever buy big presents so it was out of the ordinary lol.

What I adore is your teamwork and patience. No hurry, no mistakes made rushing things! Isn’t it amazing how popular wall paper is in the UK and Europe. Not so here in the US and frankly I would enjoy having one or two of the papers you have featured in my condo home!
Same here in Australia we don't like wallpaper much here it seems old fashioned but I do like what they are doing to decorate the front room even though its not to my tast ( too fussy ) I wish them well - a very nice couple !!!!!!
@@philipcollins2691 Old-fashioned or not, (and what is fashion anyway? just someone’s opinion they’re flogging) what could be nicer than adorning your walls with beautiful designs ?! (Rather than blank uninteresting paint)!
My husband and I put up beautiful wallpaper in our kitchen and dining room back in 1998 and it still looks great! I know it is not in fashion anymore here in the US, but I live with what I love!! 😊

I love how your house has separate, dedicated rooms, rather than the ‘open concept’ that people here in the USA seem to desire. So cozy and warm.
I think Germany has more of open concepts as well because in general rooms are bigger than in the UK.

Love how you’re redoing your whole house room by room. Not in a rush but wisely and with love. Like how you plan every detail so diligently and therefore get the greatest results. 🏠 ❤️☺️

The rail in the dining room is called a picture rail, in Victorian times they would hang pictures on chains from a little brass hook which hung from the rail. Love your ideas for both rooms.

Hello there from Nebraska! I think you could reuse your bedframe in your garden as a beautiful stake for a vine...or backdrop for flowers. It will make an interesting conversation piece...you could even spray paint it a different color!
If you were in the USA, many of us would be arguing about who gets to take things home! Thanks for your updates and sharing your surprise Valentine’s Card with us!
Prehaps a charity shop will take the bed ends. The British Heart Foundation accepts furniture.
Yes, we donated many times to The British Heart Foundation but will check again for the bed ends, thanks for reminding me.
I've seen bed ends nicely incorporated into a garden. You can even let vines grow over it. Not sure what kind of garden you have, but do consider this option.
Or Emmaus if you have one near you might take it they up cycle furniture or just sell it on. The really great thing about Emmaus is they take on homeless and out of work people and teach them a trade whilst they’re working.

I am in love with your fireplace surround and your furniture in the dining room and the bed. The wallpapers are going to be perfect! Can’t wait to see the progress.
So lovely! The border in your dining room is called a ‘picture rail’, before screws and rawl plugs people would wire their pictures and have brass hooks that hung on that rail. You will see it in some films and old places. I love them, they’re such a gorgeous feature, especially with wallpaper and paint above, you can get so creative! You are making a wonderful home ❤️
Thank you! Yes, we sometimes forget the words as we always speak German in between takes so we try to tackle 2 languages simultaneously.
I think they were used because the walls were plaster. I have plaster walls and still use the picture rails.
You could do a couple ornate antique brass hooks on picture board, then use silk patterned wide ribbon to hang paintings down the wall...very Victorian. Touches of moire teal ribbon or lovely tapestry sewn strips for picture hanging would be very beautiful with chosen wallpaper. Could you open an arched doorway to connect dining room to another room like kitchen or snug? Or have a short arched opening called a butler cabinet...it acts as a passageway entrance that joined the kitchen and dining room. Love Victorian era and also lovely English cottage floral wallpaper, furniture and cozy bedrooms. You both have excellent taste!

I loved the wall paper you’ve chosen. Botanical pastel prints will always be in good taste. The wardrobe would look so nice built all the way up to the ceiling, but then it depends on what is right for your needs. I want the gold tie backs with the knots on them but I live in NY. 😭

My parents keep their Valentines cards to each other (now the same cards since 15yrs) and write/add a new message to each other each year.. Lovely idea😊.

if you look up Marianne North she was born 1830 and at 39 became a Artis and travel around the world she painted Flowers they so beautiful she was born in Hastings where i live East Sussex her Paintings are in kew in london on the north side if you look her up you will see her work amazing lady a pioneer. Love your wall paper you saving its great you dont hear people doing that your home is beautiful. love your video.

My vote is to take the wardrobe all the way up! to the ceiling and perhaps your upholstered bench can go up to the Attic Room.
That border is your picture rail. You can hang art work, mirrors etc. without using nails. The hooks are easily available in brass or chrome and you can use cord, twine or chain. Your framers will probably have it all and be able to advise. XXX
Yes we know lol, the thing is because we speak German in between takes, we sometimes can't think of the word :) We have some lovey ideas for pictures already.
I do like the table and chairs. The honey color is beautiful, all the furniture is nice. I usually like dark dramatic lines but those simple lines will be beautiful with the wallpaper! Have fun

I love love your house. Your wallpaper selections are beautiful. I love how the English use wallpaper, not so popular in the states. I've always done all the painting in my many homes but never attempted papering a wall. Your color palettes are just what I would have chosen. I'm in the midst of choosing my designs & colors for my apartment. I'm much older now & it takes me a little longer to paint, but I still love the transformation it brings. Can't wait to see your finished product. 🙂❤

Thank you! I’m afraid not. It’s a huge bench, it wouldn’t even fit through the upper staircase and would be far too big for the space.

Yes, really lovely, we don't celebrate it as it's not really a huge tradition in Germany so we never buy huge presents for that day.

Could you use the bed frame in the garden as a background for pots etc if your only alternative is to take it to the tip ? You could grow some trailing plants on it .
We can't I'm afraid as we don't have a garden, just a small courtyard and the bed ends would take up far too much space.

I have learned it is an excellent way to create a neat, loving home.
It’s a beautiful room. I love the fireplace and I agree the mantle is gorgeous. I also love the windows with the cozy window seating. The whole room is lovely and has such potential. Joerg was so sweet to remember Valentines Day. How Romantic.

Love your house, the bedroom wallpaper and it matches with the footstool that fits in that cubby. Love the bed. Make the wardrobe go all the way up so you can store hats or something at the smaller part at the top on a shelf or two
So before you throw your bed frame in the recycling bin. You can see if you could use it outside on your patio. If you cut the legs off the head board it could be wall art. It would like nice against your bricks. The foot board could be stood on its end for a trellis. You could use the Ikea dresser as a side board in your dinning room. If you put trim on it you can dress it up to match your style better. Just until you get time/money to find something you like better. It's a good height and gives you plenty of storage. Just repurpose. It can be fun, to think a bit outside of the box. Thanks for sharing.

The window treatment will be beautiful and I love the wallpaper! When I saw Joerg’s Valentine on the table....It brought a memory to mind....when Moosie and I married 61 years ago, he had “Iche Liebe Dich” inscribed on my engagement ring.....and on Sunday, Valentine’s Day this year, we had breakfast in the garden and he had several beautiful versions of the song playing as we ate! ❤️❤️Moose and JOERG seem to be eternal romantics! ❤️❤️ We Love watching all your videos! ❤️ Nanny

The gold chandelier would look elegant and very pretty above a clawfoot tub in a big bathroom. I would spray paint in an antique gold or soft, creamy white.
Use your headboard in your garden to grow vines on or climbing roses. I love your mantle too

Aww thanks so much! We used to love Laura Ashley when it was still made in UK but sadly has become very cheap looking with products made in China.
