    Can you imagine what the electrical installations are going to be like in only a few years? Lutron among other companies are paving the way to make installation easier.
    Let's just hope that it doesn't go too far otherwise will we be seeing more DIY-ers than there already is start thinking that they can install it just as well as a professional. Great kit Lutron, thanks for the review Joe

    Oh my God I just took over as head electrician at a ski resort built in the 60s, light switches in the middle of hallways, banks of switches behind bars, lights switched at the breaker panel. This system is gonna be my new friend 😂 I knew Lutron had something that would work 🤙

    What's the difference between absence and presence detection?

    • @aycadonaghy1267
      @aycadonaghy1267 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Kevin, great question. Presence detection (otherwise known as occupancy detection) triggers the sensor to bring the lights on automatically as soon as you enter the room (its range) and it will timeout after the set amount of time when the room becomes vacant. Absence detection (otherwise known as vacancy detection) won't trigger the sensor automatically to bring the lights on as soon as you enter the room. You have the choice of whether or not you would like the lights on and will press a switch or dimmer on the wall to trigger the lights. The sensor will only act to turn the lights off once after the timeout time once the room has become vacant. I hope that explains it. Ayca Donaghy (Lutron)

    Dude.... 9:45 blew my mind! So, after many jobs and accumulating enough powpaks, dimmers and a hub, I've got questions. Caseta... wtf? No jive with Vive. And why in the hell cant I turn my lights off from Greece? In the event I ever get there... great vid bro

    What about multiple packs in every individual room? I’m having interference issues in an office building

  • @dexwhitmore

    I like the idea but my eye is drawn away as the packing (or at least how they appear, makes them look like bottles of aftershave 😂

    Fitted kinetic switches for lights in a 60’s wired garage meaning no messing with old wiring. Nice review 👍

    What does the adv button do ?

    • @aycadonaghy1267
      @aycadonaghy1267 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Titch, apologies for the delay in responding to you. The ADV button on the RMKS-16R-DV is used to reset to module to factory defaults. (The process is: "triple tap, hold, triple tap" so don't worry it can't easily be reset by mistake by someone who doesn't mean to :)) Regards, Ayca (Lutron)
