    Are the extra Caseta Wireless features enough to choose this over other options?

    • @dnoland77
      @dnoland77 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No.
      I changed my outside outlets to the Kasa outlet. Each of the 2 plugs in each outlet are independent and if I need manual control of them I would just add either a flic button or echo buttons.
      BTW, glad you are finally back.

    Wow, having your kids to turn on/off the lights is actually faster than using Assistant. What a wonderful family you have there!

    • @TechWithBrett
      @TechWithBrett  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's! I think the assistant actually beat her that time. I should do more races like that.

    I want these to be supported by RA2 Select. Lutron are you listening?!? Thanks for sharing, great video. Landscape lighting transformer control is a great use of this too.

    How does one safeguard against water when it isn't under a covered patio/roof. I know the unit itself is water proof but what about the connection from the lights to the smart plug? Is taping it with electrical tape sufficient? I see christmas lights in which nothing is used but that just seems like water will sneak in eventually when the plugs meet.

    Whats the point of being waterproof & weatherproof if the plug socket/wire connection is exposed & not IP rated??

    Is the default power on action editable? I wouldn't want the power to go off for a few hours and then have the lights come on and stay on as they missed an automation during the power outage. Is it of benefit to anyone outside of the ecosystem compared to some of the others. TP Link is pretty good with quality.

      No option to change. If it was off, it will stay off when the power is back on until a routi changes it.

    That plug cost more than the smart plug I bought my wife to wear 👍

  • @flightofapaullo72

    Definitely more expensive compared to a set of Merkury smart plugs at Walmart for $5 (clearance) $15 regular price.
    Great video as always! 👍

    $80.00 for an outdoor smart plug, you must’ve hit the lottery!!, Sorry, that’s corporate greed or lunacy!

    A Samsung fold with 27% battery life...a overpriced Lutron smart plug...really says it all right there....overpriced garbage.
