Phenomenal technician come to mind when i watch your videos. Thanx for sharing. BTW 🖕🏾Shout out to HVAC/R TH-cam police 🚔. They are like armchair quaterbacks. Sometimes you just have to trust your knowledge and experience. Most jobs are not done in a laboratory setting. They are real world. You do the best you can with the given circumstances.
Thanks for the reminder to go grab another spray bottle for big blue. Working on refrigeration stuff and having to add gas usually means chasing a leak.
Looks like you have every refrigerant that was ever made on your truck 😮when you said you guys do everything, you weren’t kidding. It’s so cool that share the equipment you work on.
407C is actually a pretty common refrigerant for chillers, at least in Germany in come across a lot of them build in the early 2010s. Aermec, Airwell and Galletti used it a lot.
it’s very cool to see new industrial places that you are working in the recent videos , continue with your great work to fix long due equipment needing a good repairman !
Did this work for 30 years, glad I don't have to deal with it anymore, only ever used was r12 r22 and r502 covered every thing... that was a long time ago....
Wow,that unit looks like it has been through hell, and it still runs. Nice job cleaning up the mess and keeping it running. Great video. Thanks for making it.
Im very familiar with refrigerant dryers. Not that large...but they do the same thing. We still have quite a few buildings with pneumatic controls and equipment. Another great video Rick...thanks for sharing
I’m not sure if you’re trying to be funny or serious but either way if you’re gonna judge my whole channel with one repair then that’s up to you. There’s 450+ videos to see whether or not to use nitrogen to make a repair. If that’s the only thing you walk away learning about in this video then that’s on you.
@HVACRSurvival crap man that's my bad. I wish I could say I watched all your stuff but everything I see is your my tech idol. They teach us the rules, but in the field it's not the same. As the professional on site you're trusted to make the call on what's best. You kill it. Sry for seeming troll-ish
That thing is pretty neat. I feel for ya about wondering what the engineers were thinking when designing the system. It’s almost like the refrigeration system was the last thing they worried about. Good Stuff Rick!
We seem to have similar days. From ice machines to air dryers and everything in between. You should see the chiller units we work on for residential Custom home Ice rinks
Those air dryers will have a hot gas bypass valve built into the refrigeration side because it has no way of knowing when air is being used or it’s not. So it needs a way to put a artificial load on the refrigeration side during times of low air demand.
23:44 was the point in this video i decided to subscribe, I was like hey i thought i was the only one that said this. its good to see a craftsman at work. I like your 1/4" sleeve trick. Is there an engineer out there that will shun you for doing that for any expansion issues? im curious cause im about to employ that trick on some of the repairs i do.
Yeah, the good ole days-12, 22, 502 and maybe some 11. Recovery machines, we don't need no stinkin recovery machines. Dump to the atmosphere. Hello Montreal Protocol...☀🔥😳
The DRN alarm triggers annually on run time. Once a year. You hold reset for like 10 seconds. Its to be sure customer gets a tech out yearly to check the machine. You take the top off the drain valve. Hold reset and it will clear alarm. install top of drain valve done.
I am doing the same repair nearly the same unit. Why they have laid the fridge lines and capillary on the deck is not good.Of course there’s vibration friction equals refrigerant leaks.
Nice job but I don't think I could deal with my tools getting full of crap it would drive me insane, and don't mention the cleaning of the cap tubes I would have to do... which would probably extend to the rest of the machine, even tho pointless, its my condition 😅
Now we have r454b and R32 to add to our vans.. I'm going to need a trailer to haul all the different refrigerants. It's about to make me retire from this business..
Everyone's different, but I'll take my nasty, dusty, muddy, muggy paper mills over residential or restaurant work any day of the week. Light commercial isn't bad but it's so boring, just rooftop after rooftop after rooftop.
the test pressure loss of 1psi over 15 minutes, is either lack of temperature or voltage compensation. then again it's not many-thousand dollar lab test gear 🤣🤣
Thanks So Much For Watching My Videos! PLEASE HIT LIKE! It really HELPS me grow and that gives me more reasons to keep quality videos coming...

Love your excitement Rick 😅
There's no extra charge for that! 😁😏

Rick, you are so versatile !
Im a previous 12 year air compressor tech. Beko are beast of air dryers.
Interesting, I didn't know where they ranked. Thank you
Nice troubleshooting and nice vid ... Appreciate you sharing your knowledge
Wow,that unit looks like it has been through hell, and it still runs. Nice job cleaning up the mess and keeping it running. Great video. Thanks for making it.
Thanks brother👍👍
Nice work Ricky, not many people would wrap the capillaries like you did, but you are top Notch.
You are very knowledgeable, i like watching the variety of equipment you work on.
I appreciate that! Thank you!
Im very familiar with refrigerant dryers. Not that large...but they do the same thing. We still have quite a few buildings with pneumatic controls and equipment. Another great video Rick...thanks for sharing
Thanks Jason!
"No not using nitrogen..." hell yeah, you're the onsite pro, its your call.
Great content from your channel, par for the hvac course 🍻 sir!

I fully appreciate that. You never know sometimes.
Good job Rick.

Good work Rick
How flexible are those dualy torch tips?
Haven't tried those or the "Captn Hooks".
They're flexible, the tips are soft copper, I only adjusted a little bit from 3/8 to 3/4. Anything bigger I use my rosebud tip
We seem to have similar days. From ice machines to air dryers and everything in between. You should see the chiller units we work on for residential Custom home Ice rinks
That sounds fun. I’m getting more into chillers finally, no skate rink’s near me tough
Really well done. Thank you for taking time and making these!
Awesome 👍👍 thank you!

Enjoyed it. I've fixed cap tubes that way plenty. Not a fan of 407c, just saying. Thanks for posting.
I havent had many problems with 407C. Thank you for supporting the channel!
Nice work Rick. Man what a mess.
Man you work on so much friggin awesome stuff that I’m sure is not easy to film and think and fix all at the same time. Appreciate it bub 👍😎🤜🤙
Thanks Nathan!

Great job Rick!

I turned the ball valve off and tried that but it didn't work. The factory said there's a release I needed to trip but I didn't see one
good catch!
Another great job Rick.
Excellent repair 👍
Which calculator app were you using? Ive never seen one that complex before.
Real calculator
Awesome video you are have best video
Thank you so much 🙏👍👍
Never seen a tip like that I like it
It works great for small pipes.
Totally agree!
Trying to get to your level
You're too kind, I'm still learning everyday.
I think the company needs to ditch the sand blasting and switch to laser ablation.
I am doing the same repair nearly the same unit. Why they have laid the fridge lines and capillary on the deck is not good.Of course there’s vibration friction equals refrigerant leaks.
Nice work, great video. What state are you in?
Ohio
I see you have the testo 570s is that correct, Im thinking about the 550s or 570s testo claims the 570s has more features do you use them?
You’re correct I have the 570s. I’ve have both and I would go for the 570s because they zero out better and seam more accurate.
Great
What the inside of the vacuum cleaner feels like 😁
Tell me! 😂
😂 can't make this shit up. Nice job Rick
🤣👍👍
Ive never worked on one of those.
Nice job but I don't think I could deal with my tools getting full of crap it would drive me insane, and don't mention the cleaning of the cap tubes I would have to do... which would probably extend to the rest of the machine, even tho pointless, its my condition 😅
I'm OCD about my equipment as well but I also bought them to make me money so they're going to get beat up.
The compressor maybe is Mitsubishi on this thing?
It was Mitsubishi
that's as bad as working in a seed plant dust everywhere
I know this is a year old but I had to comment. HVAC/R we use R401a R402a R22 R404a R407a R407c R410a R488a R134a R290 R744 and Glycol.
That’s fine I check my comments unlike some channels. I appreciate the feedback

@@Bryan-Hensley I have 10 bottles now.

I fully understand, after you do it all over and over it can all get boring.
When I started working on restaurants, I stopped eating out.
the test pressure loss of 1psi over 15 minutes, is either lack of temperature or voltage compensation. then again it's not many-thousand dollar lab test gear 🤣🤣
You can see I had the temp probe on, it has compensation but like you said it's not lab quality and this was not a science project. 😁
