@@Quaxly6The lesbian statistic one. It left a bad taste in some people. I get it. But then you have some trying to be racist to them because of it. So a double edged sword
27:50 Jinx gassed Piltover with The Grey, but because it's so much more open up there, The Grey had more air to disperse eventually. So the city still got gas attacked, but people weren't so trapped and the gas wasn't so dense that it was a massively lethal attack. During Ambessa's speech you see her approach a child with bloodshot eyes and a gas mask. He was a victim of the attack.
@@McSireson I feel like there's a certain character designer in fortiche whom is just in love with Viktor's model, cause that kid isn't the first in the Viktor clone collection 🤣
@@prodigous21 The Zaunites do have polluted air but it's not normally the Grey, as that seems to have been contained until Caitlyn started using it strategically in her hunt.
I think the sad thing is she wasn't changing, she was already changed. The moment she decided to gas Zaun, she wasn't the Caitlyn who would give up her gun for a Zaunite or hug a man even the people of the Undercity has turned their backs to.
Clarification yall asked for at the end: Jinx rerouted the gas back to the Piltover with paint/color in it. How I understood what happened, it dispersed quickly due to the open space of Piltover, while in the undercity it had no where to disperse. It was basically a “fuck you” back to Piltover, “You gonna poison us? Okay take it back.”
Jinx really is a Deadpool like genius, isn’t she? I just now realized that Powder isn’t the jinx. It’s Vi. I mean think about. Despite their origins, everyone Vi encounters has had a bad experience with the corruption of the world.
I think it's not just that Vi saw that people care about Jinx. She didn't want to recreate the trauma of enforcer violence that she and Powder experienced, the only way to prevent that was to get in Caitlyn's way.
Literally, a child was near Jinx's head!! Nobody ever sees that Cait was about to shoot a child! They immediately blame Vi because ye, Vi said take the shot *when you have it*! Cait had a head shot but missed and shot a finger! The next one was a child involved!! Cait didn't have the shot, she's barely stable, Cait is a great shot but she's not thinking straight and is on a war path! We should not be blaming Vi fully for that whole situation when Cait "Don't launch a full invasion because innocents will be hurt" was willing to take the shot while an innocent was there and near the head of the person she's trying to shoot! I don't get why nobody sees that! Cait is being a hypocrite!
22:50 This is actually a really important point this season, where Zaun always takes the brunt when things go wrong. Hence, Ekko's line: "When it rains, we're the ones that get wet.". And earlier in the season, when Salo is in the room Jinx bombed, it starts raining and he's genuinely surprised to be feeling it. Whenever Piltover messes with something, it's always Zaun that suffers the repercussions.
@@Noah-xd5fh I don't know if you saw the Korean movie Parasites, in one scene it rains and while for the wealthier off it was just a common rain, for the protagonists practically have their entire house flooded.
not even that,if that was the case, her mother wouldnt have a gold coffin adn statue, she would have to toss the body on the river as jinx did with silco or to let the body were it was as vi did with vander lmao
@stinker8 The gas allowed them to move through the underground without harming anyone as opposed to a full scale invasion which would've caused a lot of casualties.
25:50 Another interpretation I saw on twitter was that Caitlyn shooting Jinx's finger off instead of her head and the 3rd shot where even though Caitlyn's scope meets Jinx's head the bullet hit's vi's gauntlet instead even though vi stopped moving when the bullet was shot indicates that Caitlyn was missing. Caitlyn was so focused on revenge and getting to jinx she wasn't taking the time to properly calm herself while aiming after the first shot.
Pretty sure that narratively, if Caitlyn is focused on protecting people she will always hit her target. It's when she's overcome with her need for revenge that she starts missing. "What are you shooting for?"
the thing that drives me sooo crazy about the jinx/isha/cait/vi confrontation is that for vi, it was a lose-lose situation. either caitlyn misses & accidentally hits isha (child witnesses enforcer violence), or caitlyn kills jinx in front of a child who cares for her (child STILL witnesses enforcer violence). Either situation parallels vi’s own past trauma. In that moment, it wasnt about jinx (at least not entirely). It was about vi’s catalyst for violent change about to be recreated and forced upon this child. Caitlyn said she understood how vi felt seeing her parents die, but demonstrated in this moment that she doesnt and literally CANT. caitlyn has never been on the other side or enforcer violence. the child didnt even compute to her-isha was just an obstacle to be avoided, not a person that will carry this experience forever. But vi’s been on the wrong end of a gun. She understood that no matter what, no matter who got hit, if she allowed caitlyn to shoot, vi would be recreating her own trauma. And THATS why she stopped cait" To quote a post from tumblr a youtuber commented.
Dam if only there was someone nearby who has been shown to be extremely strong could have easily gotten the child off jinx Vi made a choice weather it was right or wrong we will have to see but she made the choice when there were other choices
@@kira0080 I guest we'll never know. She literally shoot a fucking finger out out of jinx hand to save Vi. I think Vì just not ready to let Jinx killed.
15:48 yes she did? She had multiple times she coulda taken the shot. And the fact that she can blow off just one finger like that she most definitely done it accurately.
@@XDrakarXx she moves her head for a literal millisecond my guy, let's be real for a minute she's not hitting that shot, we literally see VI jumping front of them as soon as her head is lifted up for that millisecond.
You all forgot something, Caithlyn already missed when she cut jinx's finger off insted of taking a head shot, also the little girl head was in right in the middle.
Really love the detail in the VI vs Jinx fight that while Vi, Sevika and Cait were HORRIFIED and HURT by the chaos energy of the Hexcore and magic, Jinx THRIVED in it. She's someone who understands chaos on a fundamental level, and uses that to her advantage. Like tossing her signature weapon in the air, jumping to catch it, THEN firing. She is very much a "chaos is a pit" type. But she doesn't see the chaos as never ending darkness thrown upon the world. She sees chaos as clarity.
@@DarkChaos1986 She then got up like it didn’t happen, and proceeds to throw hands against someone still using giant heavy paperweights, and was holding her own bareknuckle. After the Shimmer boost, Jinx is a _bit_ of a freak of nature.
18:15 the thing about Cate is that she is a highly privileged person with significant wealth and support. In the first season, she was the only one in Piltover who attempted to protect Zaun-and that was only because of Vi. Cate knew what was happening in Zaun and even advocated for it before the Council. However, when she directly experienced the tragedy of losing something important, she went unhinged. She received a large funeral, a costly coffin-likely worth more money than Vi ever saw-and a grand statue and memorial, with support and understanding from the community, while Jinx buried her parent in the water, alone. Vi, who had witnessed enforcers kill her parents, was tortured in prison, and saw people align themselves with Silco, worked to broaden her perspective for Caitlin. But Caitlin never tried, and couldn’t manage, to do the same after going through what Zaun faces daily. To me, this highlights how money and privilege can affect someone who seeks revenge. She abused vents, gassed people, and was ready to kill a child.
In episode 2, Smeech says that the Grey is just factory smog that's trapped underground. We learn from the Kiramann tapes that the rise of industry in the fissures increased air toxicity, aka factory smog, and during her time in the council, she had architects create a ventilation system that would keep the toxic air away from the rest of the undercity residents. However, all it did was trap the smog underground like Smeech said. They didn't fix the problem, they just put a big bandage over it. Jinx rerouted the vents to cause the Grey to blow up towards Piltover instead of stay underground, but the factories in the fissures still exist. As long as the vents remain rerouted, years of that smog is now polluting the air in Piltover. I think Jinx's critique of the "Janna bedtime stories" was that their breathable air wasn't due to some wind goddess saving them, but because the factory smog was still there and just being hidden away by Piltover, ready to be weaponized against Zaun at any time.
the pacing is awkward tho. theyre running thru plot points at break neck speed, especially Viktor's arc from dead to alive to leaving to becoming Jesus lol. the characters and viewers aren't given room to breathe. But yeah, other than that it's not all horrible still a great show.
@nabihat.1426 The pacing is perfect. The momentum and tension that is necessary for the stakes is there at all times. But to each their own. House of the dragon should have taken notes. And Viktor never died, he was injured and was already connected to both shimmer and hex tech, that was literally his story in season 1 lol.
18:11 "Don't see any issue"? I'm sorry, how did y'all forget there was a CHILD RIGHT NEXT TO HER HEAD!? There was too high a chance of Caitlyn blowing Isha's head off too for her to take the shot. She let her anger and grief cloud her judgement and started acting like Jinx. Yes, Vi could've just pulled the kid off, but she probably didn't want to send her down the same path as Powder. Or maybe someone caring about Jinx sparked some new hope, but however you want to spin it, there's still some fault and rash behavior on Caitlyn’s part.
@@icedcoffee-lf2nk and if that child watches someone they look up to get their brains blown out and becomes another Jinx, how many more people will die? Vi is fighting for what is right, Cait is fighting for revenge, that is the difference here.

@@raec5426 yeah vi hesitated at first while jinx was talking to her but if you rewatch, isha rushed them BECAUSE vi was about to punch her out. as soon as jinx said “it had to be you”, vi drew that fist back.
3 reasons Caitlin could miss: she's disoriented, all the Hextech glitching including her gun, and she clearly shot Jinx's finger off when aiming to kill her. And with the Grey, it seems to be due to Zaun being a mining town and only the Kieraman's attempted to help by creating those value shutoffs to help the Under city. Now it's being weaponized by Caitlin. So, Jinx decided to send it back to Piltover with the colorful display. Give them a taste of their own medicine. And Ambessa pointed out the effects with her closing speech, showing the child with an air mask and red eye.
Somebody said that killing jinx there would have created another jinx in the child, so the cycle of violence would never end and I believe that, vi made the good move.
Ignoring Isha isnt a genius with a leading mob boss parent figure if Jinx dies, how does not killing/imprisoning her close the CURRENT cycle of violence? Even My Little Pony and Care Bears arent as vainly optimistic to pretend a world shifting serial killer can be tempered with a talk. especially when VI did everything wrong during the finale last season.
I dont blame Vi for stopping at the end there, when that kid came out it probably gave her a huge flashback to how they were when they were kids. This child was willing to die for Jinx and she saw that, on top of the fact that Jinx was completely resigned to dieing there and probably wanted to for a long time.
An insight that some fans seem to overlook regarding Cait's advance v. Jinx is the whole moral imbalance behind her shot. I've been seeing a lot of casuals go "she wouldn't have missed." That's not the point. I think even Vi never doubted for a second that Caitlyn could ever miss that-point blank, rather that if she did off her, it would forever scar Isha and that's why Vi kept wanting to stop Cait. Sure, she wouldn't have missed and killed the primary subject of her objective. But at the cost of shrouding the very moral high ground her late mother stood for and has now posthumously passed on to her, to which we do see being a factor to her being manipulated by Ambessa.
Yeah and that's why Vi should've said that instead of "you could have missed". Then Cait wouldn't have thought Vi switched sides, been alone later which made her open to Ambessas manipulation since her main idol figure she could look up to got murdered by Jinx :) So again... Jinx caused all the harm that came after and people are like "poor girl..." =_=
@@jos-josradvanji6203 Jinx _seemed to_ not bank on surviving the encounter. Definitely wasn’t counting on Isha making herself collateral damage, and despite having a bomb set, wasn’t intending to use it (yet?). And Caitlyn was the one who plugged that battery in Jinx’s back; wouldn’t have gotten that smoke to vent without her sending it to them.
That cdc study it showed lesbians had high rates of abuse but most of that abuse was in their prior heterosexual relationships - so not at the hands of women.
Season 2, so far, has continued the excellence of season 1. The animation, plot points, dialogue, characters and action all just work perfectly. Between this and The Penguin, episodic tv has really hit a high note! Also, If Zaun & Piltover story is this captivating I can't imagine how the other parts of the Runeterra will be like.
The show establishes a few times that bullets fired from the Hextech rifle can punch clean through most things. When Cait was trying to take the shot, the kid was still either covering Jinx, or had her head on the opposite side of Jinx's head from Cait's vantage point. Even if she successfully fired a round into Jinx, it would have passed through and killed the kid too. Cait wasn't thinking.
Its like people saying Oct 7 Oct 7 ignoring nearly a century of constant humiliation and oppression, then using an outburst incident to go even further
@praisethefirstborn6226 it was suppose to be 5 season, but they say it would be too expensive. That why they change it to 2 season instead. It still cost 250 m tho
17:55 This statistic is used in a misleading way, especially by homophobes. People love leaving out the part on the survey talking about the majority of the perpetrators of the domestic violence being men.
27:40 I think jinx was genuinely planning on dying and the colorful vented out air was supposed to be "fireworks" and for the topside to be like "yay jinx is dead" but because she's jinx none of her plans ever work out so she lived 😂😂
The other option was Ambessas invasion which would have KILLED a ton of people. Cait actually took the less lethal option and only to get people to move away so they don't get into the crossfire.
There's a difference between a tactical team using grey in very specific locations for military purposes and just sending ALL the gas on civilians. I'm not saying using biochemical weapons is okay but at least they used it on actual mafia type villains.
25:50 The point isn’t that Caitlyn’s not a good shot She is, but only when she’s calm under pressure. They showed it in season 1. She almost lost at the shooting range because. She needs to settle. Her mind is a mess. In that fight alone, she had a clear shot of jinx, missed and got her finger Another shot at jinx, missed and got VI’s gauntlet She wasn’t in the right state of mind, that shot had red flags all over it
hi guys I love your reactions and I've been following your channel for so long now I really enjoy your content! Idk who is your editor but I felt like I had to add a thought regarding the rather misleading statistic they shared on *that* scene of cait hitting vi. The study in question included lesbian women who previously had a relationship with a man (before coming out) which really alters the actual statistic since the very same study showed almost/or more than 90% of straight and bi women were or had faced violence by their *male* partners . Now before some idiot comes yapping and assuring I'm trying to defend caitlyn's actions; I'm not, but I don't think is the best course to share information that is not completely factual and that could be rather harmful on the portrayal and generalization of lesbians.
dont think anyone would be using it for the generalization of lesbians here . i have not seen nobody coment about it apart from the ones that are criticezing it
17:55 This research was not reliable at all though, as only 1.3% of the women who participated in that survey were lesbian (as literally stated in the research itself). There’s also so much more in the research itself that shows that lesbians, in fact, do not have the highest domestic violence rate. A youtuber by the name Katherine Sloan has made a video analysing the research and discussing every misconception. Sorry, as a lesbian I am just so sick of keep having to hear this argument when it’s not even true.

At least Cait only wants the one gone that harmed her. Meanwhile Jinx killed Vis family, Caits shooting teacher AND Caits mom despite none of them having done ANYTHING to her. Mel from S1 E8: "She should have a kind, fat face. Clever, to charm her subjects - but pliable so we can mold her". Sounds an awful lot like Caitlyn right about now.

Couldn't have worded it better😂. I understand her circumstances because it was her mom, but I just can't seem to care for any of the piltover people lol.
LITERALLYY like their reaction to what Cait was doing made me think of this one creator I saw that addressed it and that basically said “I find it frustrating the conversation has become centered around justification bc there is no justification for committing a crime the very person you are attempting to avenge was opposed to. The logic that propels this mindset, the realization that even the people that sympathize w the marginalized may not perceive them as people, is gripping. It’s smth that forces the audience to confront the question, do you truly sympathize with the marginalized or is your empathy contingent on their willingness to accept their abuse? Do you have the ability to see the nuance in the people and groups that have potentially harmed you or do you condemn them all under the same label?”
One thing I noticed is how Sheera was seemingly okay with Zaun being poisioned by the Gray and cracking jokes, but the moment it gets sent to Piltover it's a problem deserving worry. Just an observation.
@@KXdareK they already didn't like jinx, and in general they like genocidal characters. Also the top siders are rich, with more resources, are privileged and live nicely soo yep😂
18:00 the thing about that survey is that it's not about lesbians's prsent relationships but was about women's previous partners (mostly men). meaning women who have been with men before getting into relationships with women have faced abuse. and since you know in a lesbian relationship there are two women the percentage of previous abuse by men is gonna show the double.
I really don't know why Vi agreed to gas her people, but I hope Jinx or Ekko speaks up about it. Zaun also has a huge homeless population so people definitely died from this.
Also the grey poping up in places seems to be a natural disaster(though it definitely wasnt natural in this case) in zaun so any one who lives in zaun should already know to run.
27:30 Just to answer your question, yes, she did get rid of the Grey. Probably the "color attack", so I call it, was part of a plan that meant to actually set chaos in Piltover. I don't know why, to be honest. Probably Sevika actioned the bomb too soon. That's why Powder tried to stop her verbally. Hope I was useful, love your videos! 👍 Have a good day! 😊
The statistic about domestic violence seems kinda weird to put there especially since it says Partner. not only have many lesbians had multiple male relationships before realising or being strong enough to come out and date a woman. the usage of this data is often used in a fucked up way to say that all lesbian relations are abusive. that's false. it merely shows that a lot of queer women have been a victim of abuse whether that's at the hand of a man, a woman, or anyone else in a couple.
@blueblazedemon It may seem not serious to you but many people do believe that false stat and it causes alot of harm towards queer women. With the audience they have perpetuating that kind of thing only makes it worse.
i would like also to add context for 18:01 third of lesbian women who have experienced such incidents have had male perpetrators ,so when are two women in a relationship, there are more people who have experienced sexual violence than when there is just one woman in a relationship, alot of lesbian dated men before
Just an FYI for that stat about lesbian women experiencing DV- if you read the report, 1/3 of that number is DV committed by men. Just because someone identifies as a lesbian doesn't mean they've never been involved romantically with a man. The highest reporting of DV was among bisexual women (over half), 90% of which was committed by men. It's important not to make assumptions when reviewing data that can lead to incorrect conclusions.
@@Robin503 The questions "what is your sexual orientation?", "have you ever experienced violence at the hands of an intimate partner?", and "what was the gender of the intimate partner who used violence against you?" are all separate questions & rightfully so. My grandmother considered herself a lesbian for most of her life but still married & had 7 kids with (and was abused by) my grandfather before she knew enough about herself to know she was gay. Why wouldn't it be relevant to the report that she's both a lesbian and has been abused by a male intimate partner?
@@wrathofthelamb318 Yeah, it'd be one thing if it just pointed out that domestic violence can occur between two women (since there's probably some (hopefully small) portion of the people watching who think women can't be abusers) but the way it was contrasted with the numbers for straight women (and conveniently leaving out the stats for bi women even though they're the most likely to experience abuse) is the kind of attempted "gotcha" I normally only see from homophobes & incels. Shame on whoever decided to include it in that specific way.
The grey is a dense gas made from the pollution of the underground factories, there, deep in the fissures the gas doesn't have where to go so it accumulates but when Jinx vented the gas to the topside the gas dispersed naturally, some people got affected but it wasn't for long. But that wasn't the solution to the pollution problem because the gas is still being produced, Jinx used the gas more as a message to start conflict with topside.
The song during the fight is an ancient shuriman prayer to the wind goddess Janna. Janna used to guide ships across the seas safely, but as time went on people forgot about her. Then they began praying to her again when the Grey was rampant. They prayed to her for fresh air.
In the game Caitlin's ultimate move cannot be dodged or miss, but it CAN hit a person its not intended for if they hop in the way of the shot as it travels to its intended target. And it stops at the first person it hits. So good supports will position themselves between the target and the shot. So that lil kid playing Jinx's support in the show is doing an excellent job, technically. Thats the exact thing a pro player would have done in high level play is try to bodyblock a Caity ult for their ADC (Attack/Damage/Carry) Jinx by hopping in between the two.
Edit: Apparently they already watched the Ambessa music video on the rewatch season 1 stream This was in a comment under Roshi's but you guys should really watch the Ambessa music video called "Blood Sweat & Tears" by Sheryl Lee Ralph. It's so good and give a tiny bit of insight into her origins. PS. We should upvote this to they see it
The gun has been glitching out and even when it stopped Cait missed her first shot and hit her hand. Despite having a clean line of sight to her head. Plus, she didn't give a damn about the kid. She would've felt bad after, but in the moment it was obvious that she didn't care
The statistic you guys cited about lesbian intimate partner violence is a common myth used to further right-wing reactionary attitudes about lesbian women. The reason lesbians report at higher rates to have been abused at some point by an intimate partner is because many of those lesbians were in relationships with MEN before coming out, and likely *due* to coming out as lesbian were assaulted by their male partners. There is no factual basis to the claim that suggests that lesbian women abuse their partners at higher rates than straight women do.

Jinx gassed Piltover with The Grey, but because it's so much more open up there, The Grey had more air to disperse eventually. So the city still got gas attacked, but people weren't so trapped and the gas wasn't so dense that it was a massively lethal attack.

HYPED FOR ACT 2 TOMORROW

3 reasons Caitlin could miss: she's disoriented, all the Hextech glitching including her gun, and she clearly shot Jinx's finger off when aiming to kill her.
Then Cait wouldn't have thought Vi switched sides, been alone later which made her open to Ambessas manipulation since her main idol figure she could look up to got murdered by Jinx :)
So again... Jinx caused all the harm that came after and people are like "poor girl..." =_=

Cait showing her privilege privilege, because she can afford the revenge

Vi was against Cait shooting because the kid was blocking the shot and Cait wanted to shoot anyway even if it meant shooting the kid

Good catch I totally forgot about that detail
I really don't know why Vi agreed to gas her people, but I hope Jinx or Ekko speaks up about it.
Zaun also has a huge homeless population so people definitely died from this.
To be fair, she had a point that it would clear the streets. Alot less of a chance you would get shot if your already running from the smog
Vi pretty much did it for Cait, it's obvious that she didn't enjoy being an enforcer at all.
Also the grey poping up in places seems to be a natural disaster(though it definitely wasnt natural in this case) in zaun so any one who lives in zaun should already know to run.

I won't lie, first time I saw the conversation with Lest, and she said, "I didn't hear anything." I actually screamed, "LIES. YOURE 90% EARS."
I think it’s mainly used as a joke, I don’t think the editor actually thinks lesbians are abusers and more violent than straight men
@rank1562 Joke or not it causes queer women to experience more homophobia.
@@wrathofthelamb318so what then it's a joke not meant to be that serious or deep watch the reaction or don't 🗿
@blueblazedemon It may seem not serious to you but many people do believe that false stat and it causes alot of harm towards queer women. With the audience they have perpetuating that kind of thing only makes it worse.
@@blueblazedemonit seems like a joke until men use it to harrass lesbians yall are weird
i would like also to add context for 18:01 third of lesbian women who have experienced such incidents have had male perpetrators ,so when are two women in a relationship, there are more people who have experienced sexual violence than when there is just one woman in a relationship, alot of lesbian dated men before
more people need to see this comment and like it so that roshi can see how it can be harmful to spread this kind of misinformation
Yeah if you analyze the stats from CDC lesbians actually have the lowest abuse stats (29%) and the highest is bi women by their male partners
LOUDER
Isn't a statistic about lesbian women only suppose to contain reports on lesbian women..?
Wtf kinda report is that..?
I hate the fact they put that there when its so misleading. It feels like a micro aggression.
Thats only 3 episodes its already crazy this season is going to be absolutely amazing , the animation my god i cant get over it its so beautiful
LMAO the censor?! 4:52
The song during the fight is an ancient shuriman prayer to the wind goddess Janna. Janna used to guide ships across the seas safely, but as time went on people forgot about her. Then they began praying to her again when the Grey was rampant. They prayed to her for fresh air.
Roshi when Vi won't let Cait kill a child: 🤬
Roshi when Cait becomes Piltover's Mussolini: 🤩
In the game Caitlin's ultimate move cannot be dodged or miss, but it CAN hit a person its not intended for if they hop in the way of the shot as it travels to its intended target. And it stops at the first person it hits. So good supports will position themselves between the target and the shot. So that lil kid playing Jinx's support in the show is doing an excellent job, technically. Thats the exact thing a pro player would have done in high level play is try to bodyblock a Caity ult for their ADC (Attack/Damage/Carry) Jinx by hopping in between the two.
Edit: Apparently they already watched the Ambessa music video on the rewatch season 1 stream
This was in a comment under Roshi's but you guys should really watch the Ambessa music video called "Blood Sweat & Tears" by Sheryl Lee Ralph. It's so good and give a tiny bit of insight into her origins.
PS. We should upvote this to they see it
They ended up watching it over on Twitch during their rewatch of Season One
The grey is produced in the fissures naturally so it'll regenerate over time. Jinx just hit them with the current collection of gas

@gustavosouza7705 maybe if the two are people who need to be put down but when it comes to an innocent child that's another story
Killing Jinx wouldn't have made any longterm gain. There would always be another Jinx.
Vi: "I don't want you to change."
Caitlyn: "A'ight, Imma crash out."
Thank you

Most lesbians have experienced abuse during prior heterosexual relationships. So mostly not at the hand of other women. I really hope you address this :/.
Why would they address this? It was a joke that was on the screen for 2 seconds and didn't imply any type of narrative at that moment.
