That was a great video of the history of the Surf and the night the music died. I will definitely make the trip there to see all the nostalgic items and memories of the Surf Ballroom.

They have concerts there and it is still used. The Winter Dance Party was canceled in 2021 but I went to the WDP every year from 2014 through 2020.

It''s a special place,. It's been there since 1947. It's one of the only "original ballrooms" left in the nation. It is now on the list of historic places. It's landmark that's why they preserve it. Many other famous performers other than those 3 have graced that stage.

I was just at the Winter Dance Party celebration last weekend at the Surf and saw Don McClean perform 'American Pie' on February 3, the anniversary of the day the music died...pretty surreal.

Dion Dimucci was the fourth headliner there that night in 1959. Strange how nobody ever mentions him. His story about that night is here on his channel on TH-cam. He has some interesting details to add about the "tour from hell" that he was with them on during that tragic night.

Loved your video and your narration style. Fortunately, we will go there this weekend. I really hope you can make it to Lubbock to see the Buddy Holly Center.

I'm from Ireland and like you I was shaking and had goosebumps on my arms when I got to visit sun studios it was incredible, to be in the footsteps of your heroes, the original grand ole opry building has a great feel too.
It's funny though when I went to Graceland I felt no buzz felt like I was intruding.
