I did pretty much the same with the rear springs on my 1960 cj. I used a press about every 6" along the leaf. The results are great and they haven't gone down much at all in the 3 months since doing it. It actually rides smoother than it ever has.
yeah agree i think if i got aftermarket springs id hate it and be too stiff
I did the other way around .. to flatten old leafys to then cut and grind for knife making.. no heat and damn tough knives!
