    • @thewanderingchef2955
      @thewanderingchef2955 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Not at all, I started the business because A, I dont eat meat and the selection for vegetarians is slim.
B, the available options are incredibly expensive.
C, the paperwork involved if I make meat based meals is restrictive.
Having been vegetarian since 10 years old, then becoming a chef at 18, meat has played a large part in my career and I understand its significance to some people.
I hope you are not too devastated by my rational mindset ;-)

@@thewanderingchef2955 lol. Not at all. Just banter on my part. One of my son's is a vegan, and it's made me more aware of some of the issues and sensitivities around the subject. But it made me smile when Marek mentioned the "vegan" meal and then through in the meat.

When very young we pitched a family tent in the lake district by the side of a babbling stoney mountain stream. Lovely. That night it pissistantly rained. The next day was bright and off we went for our lovely walk, not realising 10 billion trillion zillion cubic meters of water was rushing down the mountains to the valley. When we got back...... everything was gone. Just water. 😮😮😮😮
Luckily..... some very beautiful people had spent their day packing up our belongings and tent and repitching us up on higher ground. How beautiful people can be in camping world. 🙂😎

I went camping when my sons were little. There was three of us in a two man tent. All was well until it started raining heavily in the middle of the night. Toilets were not close by so I had a pee pot arrangement where if I needed to go I’d use the Tupperware container I’d bought for that very purpose. Three on an air bed akin to a trampoline meant if someone moved we’d all feel it. I was weeing into my pot when my son who was sleeping moved thus sending me and said pee pot tumbling over! The boys slept through it but I led there until day break unable to move and being surrounded with my own wee. I will never camp again. 😢

We borrowed a family members tent, pitched in an empty plot on a camping field! Went to have dinner out, came back to find the family nearby had run over our tent with a car and witnesses were very pleased we wasnt in it!!! The family denied it, but consequently apologized 😮 we had to replace the tent! No compensation for us! Since then we purchased a motor home and then that led to being full time vanlifers ❤

Excellent video regarding the respective merits of camping. It can be fun when you're young and with mates, but its novelty vanishes with age. I am middle aged and like good hotels with restaurants, bars, heating and comfy beds. This also reduces the risk of werewolf attacks.

"If so, what is wrong with you?" Excellent!
I know what you mean about the camping though. I've been really trying to push through the pain barrier myself...killer mice, less sleep, being cack handed at "putting things together" ...etc, etc.
Truth is, I've had some lovely moments too. Last time upon waking, I packed up and after a wee wander made myself some coffee and had 10 minutes of watching two otters playing about 20 metres away from me. The time before I slept in a Bivy Bag (VERY easy to put up!) on top of a mountain and drank my morning coffee miles from anyone with the most beautiful view imaginable. Plus the sense of achievement, and overcoming my fears.
I'm trying to do it more often (been sleeping in a tent in the garden sometimes) to get better with the equipment, and simply for it to feel more normal. I'd like to get to the point where I actually look forward to camping trip...

teens and my lingering memories of those trips were having cold tinned tomato soup for breakfast in the first trip (we kept our money aside for the pub) and finding a dead wasp in a can of nearly empty lager. Third occasion was at the V97 Festival where i experienced the horror of festival hygiene facilities. Fourth and final time was in my back garden with my eldest, then aged 4, and we only lasted 2hrs - we were both terrified of creepy crawlies getting in. I’m NEVER planning to go camping again

I like being in places you can only get to after a couple days of hiking, but all the prep work before you get to the trailhead is enough to dissuade me most of the time. I probably would’ve abandoned camp and walked home if I saw someone looking at me from a cliff in the night. There’s a very sad story from when I was a kid, please ignore if you don’t want to get bummed out-back in 2006 a woman and her daughter were shot and killed while hiking in a popular spot near me, and the killer was never found. I think of them every single time I got out hiking or camping, and absolutely freak myself out. The Pacific Northwest of the US is a spooky region

We set the tent up and then gale force winds that evening practically destroyed it. We returned to the mainland the following day, with our tails between our legs.

It's both of ours favourite film. I decided on my 2nd date with my now husband, when we watched it together 12 years ago, that I'd one day marry him as he sat quoting it word for word - somehow he ended up doing all buttercups lines whilst I voiced all dread pirate roberts...
