This song is soooo 70’s sounding! Very different. Funky is a good word for it! ❤

I see there is comment on his voice sounding tired whatever, but again this intonation makes it different in a varied playlist, and to me results in a glorious piece of funk deserving of at least a 'D' rank.

I love Elvis doing this! I wish it was longer. His voice is so low and awesome! I think the background singers should’ve been more up front, as it is hard to hear what they are singing sometimes. I love it. To me, it’s not “meh”.

I thought this one had a lot more potential but Elvis sounds like he just doesn't care. I actually kinda like this song. Just wish they'd tried it again at a time when he felt better about making music.

it seems i am the only one, I have a hard time listening to this (album) and hearing Elvis so ..... tired? ... Lame... uninterested? It reminds me of some movies song recordings ( A dogs life ....)
He wasn't at his best at these early Stax sessions. Apparently at a later date he came in more lively. Songs aren't really terrible. Some have potential but Elvis just seem to not care really. 73 was a pretty rough year for him after the Aloha show. Think there was a lot of drug and depression issues and some hospital stays.
@@christopherdavey2622 I reckon at least 18 IMHO of his recordings to still be heard this year ignoring the Aloha highlights are some of the best in his career - then again even us Ep fans go on different musical journeys

half that album is rubbish with a couple of great songs on it. This ain't one of them.
