Because the culture in the country that most of these kinds of movies were made has degraded past the point of recognition. The crappy movies are just a reflection of the fact we are living in an intentionally bad movie...reality has manifested into 'Idiocracy'
@@chitownbanginThere are still good movies, just not the ones that you see commercials for while watching TV. Do some digging. Don’t just let someone else decide what you watch.
@@SLURM187 wow you really made a lot of insinuations to "prove your point" there. I don't even watch tv to see commercials 🤷♂️. The movies today suck. We are at a uniquely bad point in history when it comes to the quality of films. The woke ideologues creeping their way into that industry didn't help. Hollywood indisers are saying the same and it looks like people here are agreeing with my sentiments.
I used to wander over to the neighbor's house to watch this as a kid in the 80s to get away from my broken home. This film was an escape from everything. I pretended that I lived in that old decaying apartment and ate at Riley's Cafe. Anyway, the years went by and I sort of forgot about it. In recent times though, the film has resurfaced in my life on several occasions. It still gives me that feeling of home and in a sense, I feel a part of me never left that old building. The film was such an inspiration for me that I wrote an album about it. Such a classic and I was lucky to have grown up watching it.
It's easy to forget how much you love a film, until it pops into your head again & the same gleeful excitement is incited. Thank you so much for posting this. Such great A/V quality.
Did you have to use a head cleaning tape or manual +/- tracking to remove lines of static? Occured at the top of the screen from a tape that's been used a lot. PS it's not a show, it's a movie.
I agree. I cried when the tiniest robot was stillborn, I cried when he came to life, I cried when he and his family left and when they came back with their civilization. The score, the characters, it’s 80’s magic at its best
I totally forgot about this movie! I saw it when I was 5 or something and remember being obsessed by it. Now that I just finished rewatching it being older, I can safely say that it’s NOT one of the movies when you watch years later and it’s worse than you remember.
A lot of us would have. I've seen baby animals die. Just lay still, close their eyes, and that feel of a living creature becoming an object. Mind goes back to this scene every damned time... That little nudge is what kills me.
Of all the ridiculous amd lame remakes and reboots these days why hasn't this movie been done?! It would be so amazing with all the electronic and technology we have around us today
First off I can tell you this you would not have just taken that TV apart. There would have been a capacitor that if he hadn't discharged it it would have fried his ass
Isn’t it strange that this movie was made in 1985 and it is 2024 and they are trying to get rid of the original batteries that we once used and everything for lithium power isn’t it crazy that this movie seems to have a message between UFO and the fact that batteries Are no longer going to be in the future

Parece que está película tiene algo de verdad detrás, supuestamente quien sabe si es verdad lo que dicen últimamente, que los ovnis en los cielos en realidad son seres vivos. De ser así entonces esta película le dio al clavo, intentando hacer una película de parodia.
I always thought this movie was kind of cute. My daughter and her son finally watched it tonight. Grandson was scared at first but ended up liking it, daughter gave it a thumbs down. Losing hope in this generation.......
Just watched this movie after years and it was still awesome but now sadly dated my kid shows no interest time they re- made this using modern special effects
My retired Navy grandfather took me to see this in the theater when I was ten. He also taught me how to fish and how to bowl. RIP Papaw
He must be proud 🦚
Wonder your grandfather gets a bit of nostalgia during the beginning of the film?
Well this unlocked a memory I completely forgot about for like 25 years!
Me too bud 😂
Why don't they make movies like this anymore I was fascinated by this

Cause no one cares about Art anymore, they only care about fallowing a pattern and hitting specific demographics based on charts and numbers.

A sweet charming movie. Both adults and children will love it.

they're gonna end up in pen for meter tampering lmao
It sucks to grow up!
Deep memory unlocked. I completely forgot about this movie. I used to love this movie as a kid.
Oh gosh it's so nostalgic - and I remember watching this show on VHS at the family cabin. Meant a lot!

Perfect practical effects!
I loved that old movies where they used real models!!
The CGI on some movies shucks!
Incroyable ce film, d'une inventivité génial, ce film je l'ai gardé longtemps précieusement sur une cassette VHS étant enfant 🥰
I love whemes the baby robot. He's so cute. I would love to have him

I can't believe Hollywood or Disney have not stepped up to try and ruin these movies.
Awesome Childhood movie 10/10 !

My childhood movie.. I like it
This movie needs a remake
Yeh not in the 2020s or at least not from Hollyweird, thanks.
No thanks leave the classics alone

No. This is a classic that deserves to be watched by many new generations. It doesn't need a remake.

I want to say Spiderman: Homecoming's Spidey Drone reminds me to come back here!
Exactly. All of the drones we have now remind me of this movie! Makes me wonder what other cool technology people mistook for ufos back then too.
I just saw Nope last night and it reminded me of this movie, lol
I was 4 years old when I first watched this
Why isn’t this movie on all streaming platforms? 2024
