I’m gonna stop dwelling on the past and move on, I’m gonna stop caring about what people think and I’m gonna focus on my own goals. Thankyou

There was so much needed advice here :).
    Things to do differently:
    1. Not respond to pettiness in order to protect my ego.
    2. Limit receiving advice to a smaller number trusted people with proven wisdom where there is mutual respect.
    3. Regularly make to do list and keep priorities in mind throughout the day.
    Hope you’re well Julia

I've stopped worrying about what people think about me. That has been something I learned or picked up from my mother. She's always taught me that how I act and what I say effects other people. But here I am well into my adulthood finding out that line of living has gotten in the way of my growing and maturing.

I agree I got better things, not to waste time with people who don't matter.

6:37 this is 100% message from guides because I was literally thinking about when M said to me “you should focus on thing that are priorities” and how I should do that
    here we are, that’s it.
And I wanted to make a list but don’ts is a great addition!
I love that! A list to keep me focused ❤️
Yeah cause I’ve been getting distracted by looking at what other people are doing instead of focusing on me and therefore moving the needle forward in my own life. When I was distracted I stopped making any movement, progress and direction.

Cutting down on facebook group discussions is definitely one to limit. Total waste of time and energy. Facebook is a toxic environment, mostly. Too many administrators and moderators are over controlling, don't follow their own rules and indulge in favouritism. Arguments run rampant and good contributors are bullied and accused of the very behaviours the bullies are getting away with. Having said that, I have joined your group. I'm sure it will be fine, but most aren't, I've learned to my cost.

Since realizing that my time is worth more than all the bullshit that I have guilt myself into doing that have not served me in a positive way. Thank you Julia for sharing , guilt use to run my life until I saw what was clearly happening for what it is. I didn't notice how much fear ran my life until I asked myself what for? You are truly amazing , the world needs more people like you.

Good stuff..as Theodore Roosevelt said "comparison is the thief of joy" I try to remember that but it can be tough but it is for sure true.

Yes! It is such a tough one, and none of us get it right all the time. But we continue to work on it and are gentle with ourselves in the process.

When you mentioned being right versus being happy, that made me think of something I heard years ago that I found to be wise. If you're ever in a situation where you have to choose between being right or being kind, go with being kind. Wayne Dyer said that.

I want to change the way I approach my day! I always think if I get all these tasks done I can spend time with my kids but never get that time as there are always "unnessary tasks." I would like to prioritize my day with 1) being mindful of my child's needs (taking more time to have fun, make a connection) 2) care of my home, when my home runs efficiently I feel great (calm and happier/ less stressed) and can focus more on my kids

What I gather from watching this video is prioritizing your time. If you focus on the wrong things, it may cause you to react negatively due to regret making the wrong decision. If you focus in the little things by procrastinating on the bigger things, you may realize what you did wrong, and play catch up, which may cause stress. Thanks for another well thought video as usual, which I intend to view in the near future. God Bless.

Maybe the reason why we want to prove our point so bad is because we want to be heard and understood by others after that wasn’t the case in our childhood so this aggression that is being expressed is just deep sadness and helplessness of an emotionally abandoned child 🤔

Thanks so much. Feel inspired to really be mindful of how I use my time because I'm stressed out and having tension headaches. You mentioned things that are "crucial', 'beneficial' etc. Can you tell us more about categorising our to do lists.
Completely agree with you about the soap box thing. I never engage in that and social media comes very low down on my list of stuff to do.

Gonna try not compare myself and just have energy for the things that are needed. As a teacher I find my energy gets zapped very quickly if I am not organised. If I can get all the admin stuff out of the way early, I think I will have more energy for the fun things like teaching and having a life outside of school

  • @brenta.7387

    Thanks so much Julia,
As I continue through the journey of life I have learned not to compare myself to others. It really takes away from your own accomplishments, and happiness. Additionally often times we associate success with the amount of material things we have, myself included. Well, it is not what it seems, the more things we have doesn't bring happiness and it also feels like being weighed down, if that makes sense.
I too also catch myself engaging in meaningless social media topics or comments at times. When I feel the urge to respond with my point or "put someone in their place". Rather than responding, I open a blank document and type my reply as I would respond. Often times in my "rant", it hits me "what am I doing"...then I close the document without saving. It's sort of like venting....After practicing this act of "bafoonery" 😁 a few times, it is easier identifying those moments and being able to step back and/or move along.

Wow, what powerful insights Brent - thanks for sharing with us. I wholeheartedly agree with your thoughts on comparison, and love your strategy for getting the 'rants' off your chest.

I went to a new GI doctor today, he was very rude ( walled off) cut me off, and wouldn't let me explain why I switched to him, from my former GI ...what I needed to say was very relevant, to my concerns and why I felt I needed a second opinion. NOW I have been over thinking all day if I should use this rude doctor? ( I was walking in a cloud all day after my appointment) plus there were 2 more things about my health that I never told him, because I was taken back by the way he was so rude...not even a Hello I'm Dr xyz...shack my hand - nothing.

Organization has value, but when I find myself sorting out the nuts and bolts in the shed, I feel I've gone too far. Life has so much detail. It can be difficult to know when I've crossed the line between good enough and obsession.
