  • I tried out the brand-new Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and in this video I tell you all my thoughts on the bike, including differences to the Trident 660 that I intensively tested this year.
    Thanks very much for watching. Take care and ride safe!

    And you always sound too humble and genuine !!!

    I love this bike, a cross between a street sport and a cross country tourer, probably reasonable on rough tracks too, basically a “do all” bike. Nice review and Jacket Juliane! 😊♥️👍🏽🏍

    Do you know what I like the most in your videos? That honesty with which you review bikes. Almost no one else does that. This one is my favorite in its class. And you covered all the reasons behind that. Thanks, Julianne...

    My next bike! I was going for the Versy’s 650, but looking at the Triumph I prefer the triple, the only think I don’t like about the 660, is the fuel tank! I wish it was a little bigger like the Versy’s! Next year I will purchase the blue, can’t wait!!! 👍😀

      17 liters and 350 km range is good enough for most riders. The triple engine sounds so good compared to the Versys.

    I have been riding for over 40 years and currently choose to ride at VStrom 650. I was really excited to see the launch of the Tiger 660 and went to the motorcycle show at the NEC (UK) to try one for size. I was super impressed with the size, fit and finish on the bike and have booked a test ride which will give me a chance to do a back to back comparison with my Strom. Cruise control is not a feature that would interest me, I only occasionally use it on my car, and I plan my rides to avoid motorways, which is the only place it would be used. The service intervals really interest me, I am a high mileage rider, so 10,000 mile intervals would be great.

    • @dk13cl
      @dk13cl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Neil ,How did your test ride go?
      I have a Vstrom 650 also.
      Looking at putting a sidecar on it and getting the tiger 660 as a stand alone to replace it.

    • @louislopez55
      @louislopez55 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would like to know too, but perhaps the test ride never happened. I owned a 650 V-Storm for 7 years. Once I test rode a Versys 650 and was amazed by the handling because of the 17” wheel vs the 19”. But I like the engine in the V-Storm better.

    • @neilmackinnon3371
      @neilmackinnon3371 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@louislopez55 The test ride did happen and I didn't like the Tiger as a replacement for the VStrom. It's a nice bike but a journalist in SA described it as a sports bike with a sit up position and high screen and that's pretty much how I found it. I am just over 1.82m and I found the foot controls too small and cramped. I also found the seat pretty hard and the ride at the back harsh although both those could be dealt with. The handling is excellent and the engine is a gem, but it's not the bike for me. The salesman suggested I try a Tiger Sport 850 if I did not like the 660.... but no one seems to have those in the UK, not even the guy who suggested I try one.

    • @louislopez55
      @louislopez55 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@neilmackinnon3371 Thanks for your answer! I’ve had 20 bikes in my life but the garage is empty at the moment. I’m looking and looking, it’s hard to get a test ride here in Arizona. I’m mostly interested in a BMW R1200R, a triumph Bonneville, and especially the NC750X. I am also considering another V-Strom. It will possibly be my last bike as I’m 63 and don’t know how much longer I’ll be riding. I would bet Triumph does some nice upgrades to the Tiger 660 in the next year or three. Probably cc and upgraded equipment at least. A reason to avoid any bike the first year or so it’s out, imo.

    • @neilmackinnon3371
      @neilmackinnon3371 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@louislopez55 I'm the same age as you and I have never done as many motorcycle miles as I am currently doing. I'm in the UK so the distances compared to America are very different but the VStrom seems to do absolutely everything I want. The Tiger 660 is a great little bike.... for anyone around 6 foot tall or under. A bit like the Honda CB500X which just ain't made for tall folks.

    Loved the video. I was looking at the Trident 660, but this is a brilliant move by Triumph. Best engine in class, and a 4.5 gallon tank. Only wish they had a center stand available for chain maintenance while on long tours. Cruise control would have been a nice option for the highway, but that may cut into the Tiger 900 sales. Also your English is perfect. You speak better than a lot of folks from Wisconsin. Merry Christmas.

    I've learned on a Street Triple, and got my license by the end of 2020. I immediately bought a Versys 650 (while we had lowered VAT ;-)), and I think it is a great beginners bike.
    After doing two 400km tours in the rain last year, I suppose I would prefer the Tiger Sport 660, because of the more powerful, and presumably less rough triple cylinder engine.

    Amazing info and review.
    I need a little more clarification as below.
    The specification and all are good. As it's a mid-weight tourer bike, we need performance as well as comfort. It's not launched yet, but from the images/videos, it seems very sporty without a tourer-type upright position, foot-peg position for long rides, and comfortable seat cushion.
    It seems like, the rider will get tired or get back and knee pain after a long ride.
    So its competitors like Versys and v-storm feel more comfortable than this.
    As you had the test ride, it would be very much help with your reviews for choosing this bike. We are so dependant on the reviews to make decisions on life-long investment on dreams to own a super-bike/tourer-bike.
    So could you please share the details?

    steht Dir 😍 4:12 looking great! - were you offered to swap your trident for this in 2022? or thought about it personally yet? or do you need something totally different for next year?

    Thank you for the information you provided. I'm looking forward to the arrival of this motorcycle in my country. You said you were happy with the height of the saddle. Could you please tell me how tall you are?
