Was it a debut or re-debut? They said he was up and got hurt then went back to the minors to rehab. Or did I hear that incorrectly.

It was great but Nico Hoerner may have been more impressive. Stepping up from Double A because every other shortstop was hurt for the cubs. He went 3-3 4 RBIs, a triple and a few really good defensive stops all on the road with the fans chanting his name. Who doesn’t love a good debut

@chriskay1449 - He was 3-3 with a sacrifice fly, which doesn't count as an at-bat. And the reason for a 1.750 OPS instead of 2.000 is because the sacrifice fly still does count as a plate appearance in which he didn't reach base. It's the rare time your batting average is higher than your on-base percentage.

As a Brewers fan, I was in awe watching last night. I texted my mom after he caught the first fly ball at the wall to say dang, the rookie is having a night, and then he immediately caught the other one!

As a Reds fan, with sooooo much young talent on our team, and the Brewers being our main competition, I'm blown away by this kids first game, it's like your own Elly De La Cruz

I'm a Brewer's fan but I like the Red's. They can light up the scoreboard. Red's fans deserve a winning season hopefully not at the expense of my Brewers.

@@LL-er5zl I’m a cards fan. But sure. Elly will be a .270ish hitter with 20-30 bombs a year. Where he shines is his speed and ability to get into scoring position. But yeah sal will be like .260ish with maybe 15 bombs in a full season. Guy maybe had one ball hit harder than 85mph off the bat. Wasn’t impressed with anything he did. Catches were okay. Not great plays.

I went to high school with Frelick. I only talked to him a few times.
FYI I’m not a Brewers fan. I’m a BoSox fan.

I was there and proud to have seen it. One thing they did not show that at his fourth bat he had the crowd standing and chanting his name. Glad his family was there to see that.
