Glad you played level 42. So Good. The title of this one reminded me of another seldom played track from the 80s. Spandau Ballet goinfg all funky with Chant No 1 .
Mark King is my second favorite bass player only behind the mighty Geddy Lee. Crazy how they can BOTH sing over the most complicated bass lines. Like juggling 5 balls instead of four. lol You HAVE to do either Starchild or Love Games. Total ear candy.
I have seen them twice - way back before they hit the big time and they were incredibly funky jazz oriented, of their better known stuff try “Hot Water”….that is funky.
You very likely already heard this song if you bought the US version of "World Machine" in the 20th century. Anyway, the Powermix version of this song is really great. There are extended releases of many of their classic songs, but it's a minefield if you're looking for songs to listen to for the first time for reactions. "The Sunbed Song" and "Sirens" are a couple of excellent works of theirs to listen to next.
Sorry MightyV , even Mr Kings prodigious skill on the bass can’t induce me to like this . Amusing how you introduce the vid with a list of all their triumphant hits which I wholly agree with 😅.. but we get … this 🤯 👍🏴
This will be the last Mondo Rock song I insist you try. After that, I will suggest Daddy Cool's ''Come Back Again'' (which was covered by Long John Baldry). I really think you need to do '"Come Back Again'' while the Ross Wilson iron is still hot. *Mondo Rock - Come Said The Boy (1983) (AU) (Extended Video Version) Refreshed Video*
Can't beat a big of mark king, slap n pluck, to think mark started as a drummer, and only took up the bass and vocals out of nessecity, not a big fan but love the sound of that graphite bass 🏴✌️
@@SPKdesign1 hi pal, aye he was on the radio talking about it years ago, and he telt the interviewer he likes to use a " all graphite bass" to be honest it's the first time I've heard of such a thing 🏴✌️
And I’m struck by how prophetic this song is and how it resonates with all that’s happening in this crazy world.
Love a bit of Level 42, great band!

Fantastic! ❤
Nice!!! I love that you can appreciate the bass lines! ;) One of my favs is Lasso the moon. I think is the only song that plays a fretless bass :)

This is alright, I believe this is from around '84, I've always preferred their earlier stuff such as, "Sandstorm", and "Starchild".

Try the live at Reading 2006 ❤
And what have we got for our goonies today.Level 42. Good choice. ❤
Probably the best synth bands of the 80s. Then again, what do you expect when they come from Yorkshire?
Controversial! Human League, OMD, Depeche Mode?
Level 42 were a great band though :)
@@lordlockdown64Heaven 17 , Yazoo , Gary Numan , Ultravox also … think you’ve been caught exaggerating with yer pants down again col eh ?… 😅
