FYI - it would have helped a bit to know what year truck you had, but in the end it looks as though it's the same configuration as my 1981 C10 (I'm not sure what changed, if anything, between 1979 and 1980). Also saw in another video that you may not have had to remove the clear plastic part (the bezel?) and could just slide the new unit in place from either side and underneath but I haven't tried it myself yet.
I said 1984 at the very beginning. And you should be able to tell because there's no windshield wiper buttons on the dashboard, they are controlled through the turn signal lever. And I don't think there's anyway in hell that you could get that out without taking the plastic piece off the front.
