I would've never bought that Ford if I had looked at all of the forum discussions. With fuel system and wiring harness issues. I feel for ya. if I had any more fuel issues I was going to ditch the whole system and get LMC trucks single large fuel tank and pump. Mechanical pumps have been in use for decades. @zmurray9499 I appreciate the replay. Yeah, this thing has been a royal pain. I bought it for my wife. She still hasn't even got to drive on the street. Replace a lot of the fuel lines new carburetor new plugs and wired new distributor. Only has 48,000 miles but sat for years. Previous owner left out alot of fine details. kinda funny, I ran across a ton of non-running 80s Ford trucks. Didn't think too much of it at the time but after owning one🤔🤦‍♂️ totally understand. Beast of a truck. You found a gem. I’m glad I watched to the end. I’ll have to try that reset, if I have one. I’ve heard some could be mechanical pumps and some could be electric. I am carbureted and since having to replace the carb and several other ignition related problems in 2016 when I got mine, it’s been pretty trouble free. The other day my external voltage regulator went out. So, I wonder if it threw an over volt or something to pop that reset, because using front or rear tank, I have the same running out of gas malfunction. I replaced the inline fuel filter, but still does it. I am only getting 3-3.2 psi on the line. Measured from the line coming in before filter. Time to go check the reset. Had no idea. Thanks.

    • @fivedogsranch9288
      @fivedogsranch9288 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well, pressing the reset didn’t change anything. It’s odd because I can pump the throttle and send gas to the carb; it’ll start, run a short bit, then die. Either tank!!

      @zmurray9499 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't know if you watched any of my other videos but I replaced the carburetor and got rid of the anti-vapor lock stuff. That truck never ran the way it should have. The guy I sold it to contacted me a few times because he was having problems. There was something going on with that fuel system and I had replaced almost everything. if I had kept the truck I was going to get LMC's kit that replaces both tanks with one large tank and use a mechanical pump. Those trucks were overly complicated with their wiring and fuel system. I have an 84 Chevrolet K 30, Pretty simple comparatively.

    the Struck mini-dozer is one of those pieces of equipment that have outlived its usefulness. the last time i checked, the bigger, more capable Struck dozers were in the $35-$45k range. you can buy several very good mini-track loaders for that kind of money and the track loaders have every kind of attachment you can think of. the Struck dozers are very limited in attachments. a "used" Vermeer or Ditch Witch or Toro Dingo with a standard bucket would have gone through this "forest of weeds" MUCH quicker than this Struck product did. sadly, while Struck was a great little machine forty years ago, it is no longer the "smart" piece of equipment to invest in now.

    What a beautiful machine. 1983 was the year that I got my first race bike, which was an '83 RM 80, and I almost shat myself when I first turned the throttle and hit the powerband. Before then, all I rode were four-strokes starting with my 1981 Honda Z50 before I was bumped up to my '80 XR 75. I was hooked instantly to that two-stroke power, and the icing on the cake was the authentic Full-Floater rear suspension system. It was like riding on a cloud over huge jumps and over the roughest terrain. Not long after that, I went racing at MX338 Southwick. Talk about addicted. Racing was better than any drug, I'm sure.

    I work on a lot of these older trucks and didn't know the 460 was still available in 85. Until I encountered a F250 identical to this one, yesterday. LMC sells good parts for them. But Dennis Carpenter is the best. They actually buy the original tooling equipment direct from Ford. Once its obsolete and they discontinue it. With LMC parts, I've encountered things like bolt holes not lining up. Or body parts just not fitting right. But either place has literally anything you need. To completely rebuild this truck.

      i had a gibson tractor to clear snow as a kid with a 6.5hp wisconsin engine and when i was fourteen i was working with a bunch of other teenagers on the tree farm and my experience on that tiny tractor gave me the confidence to start operating machinery and then right after high school i became a forklift operator for a few years for a warehouse And i drove a box truck and then i got into underground utilities and was a backhoe operator and then i got into delivering precast concrete and was a truck driver crane operator and now i have some equipment of my own but wherever i’ve gone i’ve met people with good experience who know the construction part very well but who don’t ever move up from being a labor to being an operator or a foreman and that confidence goes all the way back to when i was a child on my mini tractor. i think its a great teaching tool for kids.

    I’m trying to chase down an exhaust leak and tried ultra copper with no luck. I’ll give the ultra black a try

    It's been 3 years now. Realistically it's not a long time. Looking for an update... Is paint worth trying or just drop $300-$700 for brand new panels?

      It scratches fairly easy but I am content with it. My truck gets used as a truck and far from perfect. If you care about what it looks like then I would probably buy new. If you're not very picky you might be satisfied 🤷🏼‍♂️!! The paint has held up but I have avoided touching them.

    I have a hydroboost in my K20 with 1 ton axles and 36” tires. It had a standard vacuum booster system on it years ago and the hydroboost helps quite a bit when you have bigger axles and tires. It may not brake any better than a vacuum booster in a lighter weight truck but it does make a difference in bigger trucks especially when towing. My Mustang has it as well simply because there’s no room for a vacuum booster with the 4V 4.6. I just replaced the steering box in mine to go crossover steering and am getting ready to do this again so this video reminded me how much of a PITA it is to bleed so thank you for that lol.

      It was a serious process to bleed. But saying that I wonder if I would have just left it alone and driven it for a while. Topping off as necessary. If it would've been itself

      Worked, wipers shut off. But i ended up tearing the stearing column apart and replacing basically all switches. Wipers now work at normal speed. I did a video on the proceedure.

    The sing-song of the Minion while fast-forwarding through various parts of the video really added a nice touch. Got my own Magnatrac MH8500 brand new this spring, and it’s a BEAST, lots of fun with it. Best wishes to you and yours with your Struck machine. Respectfully yours, Alan Edited to change “song-song” to the “sing-song”, ciao for now!

      @@zmurray9499 Dunno why there’d be any haters- thus far, I’ve had nothing but fun with my Magnatrac, in both the work I’ve been doing and the experience, maintenance and the like. I’ve toured the factory in Cedarburg, met a few of the kind folks in the Struck Company, and it’s been a pleasure working with them. They’re a small company, were family-owned until just recently, and were purchased by a local businessman, so I suspect they’re going to remain a relatively small company, focused on customer service and making a quality product. Thanks for welcoming me into the community, I look forward to being a productive member. Respectfully yours, Alan

      It's very tight underneath the dash. The only thing that you can really film is the unscrewing of the disc and pulling the knob out. The button and the disc unscrewing is pretty much all you need to know. Somebody that hasn't done it before is looking for that information. At least that's what I'm looking for, there's always a little trick, hidden button or special tool with removing dash parts.

      And tiny dreamer.... and I wasn't critiquing your video as far as length. I was just saying that I could watch more of it without losing interest. Would like to watch more and do look forward to watching❤️
