Ronnie was an influence on my guitar playing and I actually had a Budweiser Sticker placed perfectly 0n thr the back of my Ibanez Strat like Guitar in Memory of Ronnie ! He was a really good guitar player. Stranger was a really good Bar band ! Great guys too. Steve Vandergriff introduced these guys to me, Thanks Steve ! Steve is phenomenal too ! Great musicians!
I graduated from a western Ky high school in 81. My mothers parents made it in from Sarasota. They’ve been there since 73. Long story short I went back with them the day after graduation and lived for 5-6 years. The Playground South downtown Sarasota was the place to hear and see good bands. Most of the time. When these cats came to town it was a treat. Period
Oh how Love this band! Seeing their shows was always made for a great night out! My late husband absolutely LOVED this band and would drive ALL over Fla. to see them play. I'd bet he had seen them perform about 50 times (maybe more?)We lived in FtLauderdale (suburbs) 1988-89 til a year or so after he, my husbnd died (in'99) & I moved in mid-2000. My husband had already been a fan for YEARS. He introduced me to Stranger when we met (1986 or '87-ish) & I've been grateful ever since. Best gift he ever gave me was the joy of seeing the STRANGER BAND. OH! Such Good Times, Good Music and GREAT performances. I really miss seeing them play ans I am so sorry to hear about Ronnie too. This band was better than many of the famous rock bands in USA... better music, better performers and much better personalities too. They're Great guys. They always said 'Hi' to my husband or gave him a 'hello nod' while on stage, they cane to recognize him from being at so many shows. They'd come to the bar on breaks and sit w/us sometimes too. Greg was always nice.i think, one night my husband even sang one of their onstage at one show- that was a blast..esp for him! I so mis them
I saw this band in Tampa in 1984, for some reason was thinking about this song and found this video. Only took me 39 years to figure out who they were but I remember they were good.
Thank God people video taped them and had the good sense to keep it. Now Stranger will live on, long after those of us who have had the pleasure to rock with them have gone.
Used to see Stranger at Brassys in Cocoa Beach and a Mr. T's...... By far , one of the most underated bands that I've EVER seen.......They were way before their time with their Southern Driving rock style...... Ronnie was one of the best guitarists of all time...he could lay licks with the best of them....and also was underated...IMO he's right up there with David Gilmore (Pink Floyd) and even played a simular style, except Ronnie was more driving edge rock..... RIP RONNIE ...JAM ON !!!

I loved and still love Stranger as much as lynyrd skynyrd and the Doors! All 3 had Deep Florida ties and all three are my favorites! Stranger should have been as big as the other two but shitty stupid record label crapped on the Florida Van Halen! I always had fun seeing these Jam masters! Miss Ronnie big time !
I was in the video for "Hit and Run"...I am only there for a brief second or two...the girl in the red dress sitting and watching the juggler. I remember meeting Ronnie and he was the sweetest guy. I went to see them play after this video shoot, I can't remember where...the lead singer announced to the audience that Ronnie's wife just had a baby...does anyone know about this show or have video from it?

The greatest band that never was. 30 years later.. I STILL listen to them......their music still rocks better than almost any others!
