Holy shit, your dawn island and sky island ideas blew my mind! I appreciate the nuances and attention detail this story has and am thankful that you can offer more details!
Another possible connection between Skypiea and Elbaf that I always return to is the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, which traditionally features giants living in the sky! I’m reminded of the large beanstalk that featured in Skypiea itself, and also curiously a giant axe that always stuck out to me in one of the cover pages later on (chapter 425 behind Wyper I believe) As always thank you for the great video, and hope you are keeping safe!
9:20 On the Impact event, scientists were able to discover the Chicxulub Crater at the Yucatan Peninsula due to gravitational anomalies in the area, which allowed them to formulate the theory in the 1st place. In Elden Ring, meteor impacts are utilized in a similar manner. In the game's deep history, gods like the Fell God & Elden Beast arrived in the Lands Between as meteors or stars from space. But more importantly, impacts from smaller meteors formed the floating island upon which Farum Azula was built, and led the astrologers and sorcerers to study the phenomena, resulting in the development of gravity spells. In One Piece's case, the impact of meteors might have been even more devastating. They must have struck in great number that it not only killed the dinosaurs, but also fragmented the tectonics of the planet itself and polarized the certain areas of the geography. Because all these random islands across the world suddenly exhibited inexplicable weather, they needed to be towed away to the equator of the planet, for either quarantine or study. The Red Line could be an end-point phase of this effort, since it is an amalgamation of connected islands. This would explain why these strange islands are only found on the Grand Line, why log poses are needed to traverse the region, and why Oars was known by the name 'Continent-Puller.'
I believe its actually nibiru the mythical tenth planet also known as tyche/X/nemesis the dark star. The lore fits perfectly. The ancient Sumerian Kingdom believed it was the home of giant winged gods(nibiru), the Greek thought of it as the goddess of fortune and fate(tyche), conspiracy theories have long run wild about the shadow government covering up a black hole at the edge of the solar system that might one day enter the inner solar system causing destruction(tin foil hat dudes). All that along with a connection to the letter x, archeology, alien gods, darkness, earthquakes.... Its all there I think I just need a little more red thread.
this makes sense of vegapunk saying the cloud making machine was gonna be important in saving humanity in the latest chapter. next arc is gonna be fun.
Theories I have about Elbaf: - I think Franky built Sunny to be retrofitted for Pluton or to fight Pluton. I'm not saying Franky did it with that intention or that Luffy would ever ask him to. But Franky had those blueprints for long enough and Franky is smart enough to have memorized them. He likely built Sunny so that he subconsciously made her super easy to turn into Pluton or fight Pluton if it was essential. If Sunny is damaged retreating from Egghead, I can see him using Elbaf’s Treasure Tree to fix her and that’s when he turns Sunny either into Pluton or the perfect Pluton counter. Because remember, Sunny is already made of a Treasure Tree. - Uranus is the god of the sky and Elbaf is inspired by Vikings and Norse mythology. I can 100% see a plot point where there is an item or a person named Thor who is then revealed to be Uranus because Thor is the Norse God of the sky and comparative mythology is a thing. - I can see Elbaf divided into 9 counties of districts like Wano was. Each district is named after a different world and each county is connected by a bridge system or super highway called Yggdrasil. - I think Usopp will end up leading a brigade or division of Elbaf warriors during the final war, and those soldiers will total 8,000 men. - With the symbolism of an Adam and an Eve tree(s), I could see the final war starting with the Adam tree falling after an attack by the WG on Elbaf and ending with the Eve tree falling after either the destruction of the Grand Line and/or the exodus of the Fishman to the surface world. - I think the eight circles on the outside of the sun symbol symbolize the eight islands that were followers of Nika: Alabasta, Jaya/Skypeia, Fishman Island, Wano, Sorbet, and now Elbaf. We hear Dorry and Brogy talk about the sun god in chapter 1106 and in Chapter 1107, one of the Giant Warrior Pirates has a sun tattoo. We have 6, we are still missing 2. I think Zou is more than likely one but we haven’t seen the sun symbol so I can’t confirm. And then maybe whatever Water 7 or Tontatta Kingdom (there seems to be a Tontatta with a sun symbol tattoo) were. - I think Elbaf has more information about the Void Century than the humans do. The giant lifespans are triple that of humans. So where it might be 12 generations back for humans, it might only be 3 to 4 for the Giants. Dorry and Brogy’s grandparents or great-grandparents could’ve fought alongside Joy Boy against the World Government. Also, the World Government has no influence over Elbaf so they never got a chance to censor their histories.
I think Elbaf Arc will highlight some strawhats, mainly Namis origins. Oda said Nami would be Swedish so the concept of norse mythology and vikings fits perfectly. Some other symbolism that could be relevant is the Adam and an Eve tree, sun and moon.
