Visiting the Benerley Viaduct in Ilkeston is a truly awe-inspiring experience.
This iconic railway engineering masterpiece stands tall and proud, a testament to the skill and ingenuity of the engineers who designed and built it.
Located near the former site of the Stanton Iron works, the viaduct is a reminder of the industrial heritage of the area.
As you approach the viaduct, you can't help but be struck by its sheer size and grandeur.
The towering arches stretch across the valley, carrying trains high above the ground below.
The viaduct is an impressive sight, with its intricate detailing.
Walking along the footpath that runs beneath the viaduct, you can marvel at the amazing views from above. I passed a group of local volunteers who help to maintain its beauty and wildlife around it.
