Rosalie Carbone is actually a pretty interesting character in her original appearances in the Chuck Dixon stuff, but nobody else ever knew what to do with her.
Ethan: "Is there a test I can run to see the difference (between an LMD and a person)?" There was, but then they started catching onto our whole "tortoise in the desert on its back"-thing...
I’ve been loving these old forgotten events that explain what the hell that random tie in in Peter David’s Hulk run was about Lifeform, Over the Edge, Evolutionary War was awhile back but that one counts too
Honestly the episodes about all the dumb events are my favorite... I kinda love when comics are silly and stupid. Probably why Secret Warps is one of my favorite reads.
This seems like an episode that might not attract as much attention, even though my favorite episodes are the ones where Sal starts off tell us the deep lore of what was happening at the offices. So here’s a comment to help the algorithm!
If this can get an episode it gives me hope that one day we could get Ultimate FF on the couch. I need to hear Sal talk about this book, it’s absolutely unhinged.
Over The Edge is Basically Marvel Street Level Characters Going on High Octane Adventure that Ties together God Help Us The Edge is So Sharp it Pierces the Flesh & THY Soul
keeping me company while going thru 24 hour bug or gastroenteritis, which I honestly thought didn't exist that people made it up to call out of work...well i'm here on my day off to tell yall it does indeed exist, called the Norovirus, apparently, I almost reached hospital dehydration but finally able to hold fluids and eat and watch this. all peace always
Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday! It's an all new Back Issues with hilarious jokes and amazing action! Your sub gives you the whole channel but you'll only need The Edge!!!
I truly believe the lack of willingness to have cohesion in the marvel universe is one of the biggest reasons punisher is always just on his own or depicted as a goober way out of his depths when he should be the street level version of Thanos. Highly destructive making it everyone's problem with plans upon plans that always end with him either winning or escaping after drastically changing the landscape.
I seem to remember that there was also a tie in issue with Spider-Man during the Maximum Clonage Part 2 when Punisher was still acting like a lunatic and was after the Jackal. Is that technically a part of Over the Edge or was it just a convenient mechanism to incorporate the Punisher so the readers who were reading the clone saga could be informed about what was happening in the Over the edge series?
37:08 People complain that Marvel hates their Punisher fans, looks like its nothing new nor exclusive to them. Also, please bring back Savage Screen for the Dolph Punisher movie. I
Sal, Ethan and Ben! Agents of Shield season 4 has an absolutely superb LMD arc, it’s one of the best ones of the series. Also Ghost Rider. But mainly the LMD thing
Just came home from laying down some cement on a pool foundation. Have some fries and nuggest with fried saltfish with onion pepper escosivece sauce. Nothing like 90 mins feature length back issues with a bit of "super tangie" after😂😂
I read the two Double Edge issues as part of my lengthy Punisher read through, and they're so completely insane I have no idea what they were thinking. The multiple villain plan pile up that kicks it off is just... what?
On the LMD talk, Dum Dum has been a LMD since SHIELD was founded. He didn’t know until he got shown the warehouse his spare bodies are kept in. Later he found out his body was still alive but deadly wounded after a mission with Nick after WW2 and he’s not an AI but actually the almost dead body’s brain sending signals to the Dum Dum LMDs so he can walk around etc. Basically his body and brain is safe while his new bodies can do things without worrying about dying.
That's because it was actually the real Dum Dum, whose consciousness got transferred into an LMD body when he got too old to keep fighting himself. It was a whole thing, don't worry about it
Wow. I remember having a random issue of Hulk as a kid where they had the funeral for Fury. Lmao. At least I now know why Punisher killed him after all of these years.
I wouldn't say "missed", Sal. Also, I'm sad to say this was during my time reading floppies. So I DID read this story line. One of the few times I picked up books from The Punisher series back then.
The MARVEL EDGE imprint is what the MIDNIGHT SONS imprint became, when the SONS events fizzled out and the new Editorial Departments began. Marvel were all about BRANDING at the time, including nifty custom trade-dress, like the Midnight Sons "dagger" (which also became a minor factor within the storyline as well [the Sons all got it as a mystical TATTOO].) The Edge logo was all "sharp". Haha
Wow that's sad that the only time Marvel had a female editor in chief is when they had 4 identical editors in chief. That's actually insane that they've basically never had a female editor in chief, maybe it's cause they've just had less editors in chief then I'm thinking but I highly doubt that, sounds like something needs to change
I remember the "Edge" corner of the MU. Daredevil,Doctor Strange, Hulk, etc. And only remember the funeral of Fury because it was in an issue of Hulk. Maybe I'm wrong but didn't Dr.Druid get a mini during this time!?
Great back issues episode guys on Marvel over the edge and honestly for me this story looks so weird and very 90's with its artwork but overall as a punisher story it sounds like a mess in my opinion.
Being the stay at home hubby for She Hulk would be nice til she comes home and the chores aren't done, or you didn't set the chicken out to thaw 😅😅😅 makes her angry lol👊
Ironically, I watched this video because, while I bought the entire Midnight Sons / Marvel Edge line off the spinner rack, my main interests have always Doctor Strange focused, and I wanted to hear how you guys reacted to that bat-shit Dr. Strange issue... Only for you to go: "yeah...no. We're not touching this thing."😂 The fact that, pretty much the ONLY aspect of this crossover non-event even being a part of this issue is about 2 panels of Nick Fury ringing Doc's doorbell and being ignored, only to walk away. Obviously, the Doc team maliciously complied with the crossover edict.
We're edging today boys.
😂😂
Brace yourselves
Wild 😂
Does this mean Sal is our edgelord?
@@FlossyBottoms 😂😂
I love the running theme of sal getting harder to hold back in the thumbnails of all of the marvel event episodes
They have to stop him from going over the edge
And then in the Spider-Man juggernaut one he’s so far gone they don’t even try lmao. Nothing can stop the Salernaut
Ethan: She-Hulk would crush you. Sal-It would be worth it. ....................Yup.
Thank you. I was so confused.
Never a truer statement has been uttered at the beginning of a Back Issues
Death by snu snu
Incredibly correct
Giant green Amazon snapping you in half
There are worse ways to go.
I’m really grateful for these episodes in particular because there’s no way Marvel wants this stuff seen lol
Sal's like an archaeologist.. or something 😅
Ethan jumping on the Dr Strange flesh room joke before Ben was a twist i didn't expect.
Over The Edge crawled and still managed to stumble on itself so Marvel Knights could run.
Exactly
And Marvel Knights ran pretty eagerly so Marvel Max could fuckin sprint
Thanks for Edge-ucating me on this book I’ve NEVER heard of
Useless Trivia - Rosalie Carbone showed up in the second season of Luke Cage on Netflix.
Oh my God you legend!!!!!
90s Marvel, Edgy edging!
The razor edge
Rosalie Carbone is actually a pretty interesting character in her original appearances in the Chuck Dixon stuff, but nobody else ever knew what to do with her.
Ethan: "Is there a test I can run to see the difference (between an LMD and a person)?"
There was, but then they started catching onto our whole "tortoise in the desert on its back"-thing...
To be fair, the test only works if you make sure the testee doesn't have easy access to a gun. That's just Testing 101.
I’ve been loving these old forgotten events that explain what the hell that random tie in in Peter David’s Hulk run was about
Lifeform, Over the Edge, Evolutionary War was awhile back but that one counts too

Marvel's editorial issues have given ways to many gems over the years
11:34 legends say that if you say Edge 4 times, the wrestler will pop up from your room and spear (tackle) you.
Its always a good episode when Sal causes the guys' heads to explode with these stories. Keep up the great work! 🤣
Back issues notification? Gotta stop what I’m watching and watch the new back issues
Marvel is one step closer to the edge… And they’re about to break lol
I understood that reference
If this can get an episode it gives me hope that one day we could get Ultimate FF on the couch. I need to hear Sal talk about this book, it’s absolutely unhinged.
Sal Comic Quest episodes are my favorite, uncollected stuff is usually pretty bonkers.
Over The Edge is Basically Marvel Street Level Characters Going on High Octane Adventure that Ties together God Help Us The Edge is So Sharp it Pierces the Flesh & THY Soul
40:00 Almost like Marvel didn't have editors who did their jobs.
Less than 2mins in - Ben: "So over the years you've edging yourself". So Naughty. LMFAO!
Anybody else now want to see Punisher develop a vendetta against Kiteman?
Half of this is an edgying Punisher story. "The 90s were weird" is an understatement for this! I'm glad mr.Defalco "left" before this craziness😂
0:01 Truer words have never been spoken
keeping me company while going thru 24 hour bug or gastroenteritis, which I honestly thought didn't exist that people made it up to call out of work...well i'm here on my day off to tell yall it does indeed exist, called the Norovirus, apparently, I almost reached hospital dehydration but finally able to hold fluids and eat and watch this. all peace always
Sal comic quests are such fun episodes but man do I never wanna read them. Bloodlines was dreadful
Watching this then I gotta check out Terminator issue 2!!OutToday!!Thankyou ComicPop
Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday! It's an all new Back Issues with hilarious jokes and amazing action! Your sub gives you the whole channel but you'll only need The Edge!!!
Not to be confused With The Band the Edge most popular for their Hit Single Tonight Alive From The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Rise of Electro
It's a really good episode when you have to apologize at the end of the episode lol
Another great episode. Always enjoy seeing ya'll cover odd stories.
Over the edge is the name of a old WWE/WWF ppv.😂😂
37:08 People complain that Marvel hates their Punisher fans, looks like its nothing new nor exclusive to them. Also, please bring back Savage Screen for the Dolph Punisher movie. I
i love over the edge! its my favorite animated comedy/heist movie!... wait
Sal, Ethan and Ben! Agents of Shield season 4 has an absolutely superb LMD arc, it’s one of the best ones of the series.

Great episode!
This story had me on the edge of my seat lol
I read the two Double Edge issues as part of my lengthy Punisher read through, and they're so completely insane I have no idea what they were thinking. The multiple villain plan pile up that kicks it off is just... what?
Wow, a new episode, and a reference to Wes Craven's best movie 'Shocker'.
All my LMD's would be of Wolverine bc the magnet test won't work on him. mwahaha! I've fooled you again!
Didn't Dum Dum Dugan's LMD actually become sentient?
That's because it was actually the real Dum Dum, whose consciousness got transferred into an LMD body when he got too old to keep fighting himself. It was a whole thing, don't worry about it
Awesome episode.
A perfect quintessential back issues ep, will be returning to this one again
Anyone remember when there were a number of replacement Punishers? I never read the story but I recall seeing the trading cards.
1:19:47 Hey, a sailboat!
I saw the ad for Mallrats in so many comics as a kid, I initially thought that's what Ethan was looking at.
The MARVEL EDGE imprint is what the MIDNIGHT SONS imprint became, when the SONS events fizzled out and the new Editorial Departments began.
Marvel were all about BRANDING at the time, including nifty custom trade-dress, like the Midnight Sons "dagger" (which also became a minor factor within the storyline as well [the Sons all got it as a mystical TATTOO].)

I see GR 2099!
Perks of Patreon
The Penance Stare is about guilt you have to feel GUILTY for you're actions and Frank genuinely doesn't that's why it's ineffective
Edge!
Oh, _Marvel_ Over the Edge.
I thought this was gonna be about the best episode of _Batman the Animated Series_
That's cool though!
There is nothing that makes me happier with this channel than seeing a marvel event that I know absolutely nothing about
Wow that's sad that the only time Marvel had a female editor in chief is when they had 4 identical editors in chief. That's actually insane that they've basically never had a female editor in chief, maybe it's cause they've just had less editors in chief then I'm thinking but I highly doubt that, sounds like something needs to change
I can't get the Spider-Man magic eye trick to work, maybe it's TH-cam compression?
I remember the "Edge" corner of the MU. Daredevil,Doctor Strange, Hulk, etc.
And only remember the funeral of Fury because it was in an issue of Hulk.
Maybe I'm wrong but didn't Dr.Druid get a mini during this time!?
Druid by Warren Ellis, but it turned out out it was an ongoing that was canceled before it shipped.
Woohoo another Sal Com(ic)quest!!!
You guys just won my year end recap…for minutes watched.
Edit Back Issues with 7,738 min…
More punisher let's goooooo.
I still have a stack of the old holofoil cover sheets they gave out at cons for this event.
Does Nick Fury’s son Scorpio ever interact with Nick Fury’s hidden secret son Nick Fury jr who is now the stand in over at SHIELD thanks to the MCU?
I think he died before Jr. was created.
Please do the bold and the beautiful comic book it is a good story by Steve Englehart Art by Norm breyfogle dormammu vs mephisto
Over the edge! Underwhelmed
Wait so there was an imprint that was Marvel Knights before Marvel Knights?
Bingo
I hope you guys cover Jenkins' Inhumans oneday.
re: Magic Eye - There's a subreddit where people are still making them!
I saw this ad and was like what is this?
The Omega issue should be called "Double Sploosh"
It would be worth it 😮💨
The entire episode all I could think of was the song "The Edge of Glory" by Lady Gaga
Great back issues episode guys on Marvel over the edge and honestly for me this story looks so weird and very 90's with its artwork but overall as a punisher story it sounds like a mess in my opinion.
It’s like a pizza cutter-ALL EDGE! Also no point
Oh good I needed this EDGEucation
His name is Doctor Leonard Samson!
His name is Leonard Skivorski Jr.
@comicpop Damn that’s news to me, lol. From what I can find that looks like a Jeph Loeb addition? Anyway touché
The 90s were definitely something else, for better or worse.
Being the stay at home hubby for She Hulk would be nice til she comes home and the chores aren't done, or you didn't set the chicken out to thaw 😅😅😅 makes her angry lol👊
Ethan's going through the same type of mental gymnastics that comic readers have to on the regular 😂
Drinking game: drink whenever they say edge
Peg Bundy - Mob Boss
my middle name is edge, and my surname is marvel. so this must surely be my Comic Event lol
The most 90s name of all 90s name
*The Edge*
Why were the ’90s so edgy?
The envelope don't move if you don't push it.
This is the year for: Trinity War
YES!!!
Take a shot 🥃 every time they say "edge" and embrace death's sweet release.
We're not touching this thing."😂
The fact that, pretty much the ONLY aspect of this crossover non-event even being a part of this issue is about 2 panels of Nick Fury ringing Doc's doorbell and being ignored, only to walk away.
Obviously, the Doc team maliciously complied with the crossover edict.
So after this Frank runs a crime family, which is basically a non-magic version of when he runs The Hand?
aka Green Hornet
So, this is "Punisher: Office Space"?
Something something edge
I was hoping to see that last panel lol🤤
Marvels been edging since the 90s aye
🔥🔥🔥
Ngl i was thinking n over the hedge crossover before I clicked it idk y
