To your point working outside the dealer with a vendor. I did this with Coleman to replace the middle ac ceiling vent as the manufacturer tightened the screws too tight causing it to break. Coleman sent me a new one. Also the shades. Got a replacement shade that failed. All without the 80 one way mile trip to a dealer and drama that goes with dealing with them.

Very true, glad Coleman agreed to send it direct. That's very helpful.

Why does the LED light strip need to come off? It seems the fabric could still slide out of the channel it is in without removing the light strip. Good video.

If you had a 3rd hand in the mix one could potentially slide LED out in reverse simultaneously when sliding awning out. I ran out of hands :)

I'm working on trying to do this with my awning right now, but my awning fabric does not have that little black cord to slide into the awning track. Any ideas on how to do without that?

I think the cord is necessary to slide into the track and keep it there. I wonder if you have another brand of awning perhaps? Or maybe they have changed how it connects?

Just curious as to why you didn’t opt to add the aluminum protective cover to you awning when you had it off?
Great videos, keep them coming. 👍🏼

Great thinking. Not compatible in my case. I was also surprised to learn the replacement vinyl fabric typically only runs under $300 if purchased out of pocket. The built-in aluminum cover might be a good option to consider if you have a more expensive grade vinyl/acrylic fabric and don't keep it in storage when not in use.

My RV is 8 months old the fabric was pulling away from the track. I was going to take it back to the RV dealer under warranty today I went out fabric completely came out of the track. Since that is the only thing holding entire shade to the RV it fell down and bent the framing on both sides. I assumed there was some sort of lock. If I was going down the freeway it fell down like that, I would have caused a major accident. These need a safety clip I think the reason the shade pulled out of the channel from the RV repeatedly pushing the wrong direction on the button motor control. Since it has no lockout to stop someone from doing that, you're causing the fabric to jerk on the channel it's being held in. Now the RV dealer says I should have brought it to them sooner now not going to be covered by warranty. Lessons learned Solera is a poor design.
