    Thank you for this video. It was very helpful. I am a new RV tech IN KC Mo. and just getting started I want to specialize in awnings and canvas RV products. Look forward to seeing your other videos.

    That’s the spring end comes off and unwinds. How many turns do you put on the spring when you put it back in so that it has the right tension

      that's based on the size of the awning its no one set number

    Thanks for posting. Can I assume that if you unpinned the left side first and then untied your straps, you could then pull the arms all the way out (manually) and then roll it back up with the motor? That should keep from having to rewind the spring? Not sure, but I imagine that is how I might try this. I'm still looking for best option since I've never done one before. Thanks

      @@rvtechpro yeah, after I thought about it, that wouldn't work. I just finished mine yesterday and I left mine pinned the whole time and after I put the tube back in the awning and put the motor back in, I rolled the tube and awning back up by hand until I got to the top and then put the heads back in the arms, put bolts in and hooked up wires, and then pulled the pin. That way the pin was installed and pulled out at the same location. It worked perfectly. Thanks for posting your video, it helped me a lot.

    So once you detension it and roll it back up ,the tension will return to approximately what it was when you first pinned it?

    • @rvtechpro
      @rvtechpro  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      no because the spring is to help the awing roll up and overcome the shocks

    Proper bit is 5/32

      Dometic™ A&E 3311579.016 OEM RV Awning Arm 3/16" x 1" Oscar Rivet - 10 Pack
      The recommended hole size for a blind rivet is typically between 0.1mm to 0.2mm larger than the diameter of the body of the rivet. For example, if you are using a 3/16-inch blind rivet, the hole size should be between 5.0mm to 5.5mm
      5/32 is way to small for a 3/16 rivet
