Your mom means you don't get same happiness as white ppl do in the white ppl country. Born and educated in white ppl country, doesn't mean you get same treatment and happiness as white ppl.
I hope my future kids will be thoughtful enough to realize my side of immigration struggle too. It's always good to never forget how the journey began.
Your heritage is so very important! While I not Asian my father and grandfather grew up in extreme poverty, my grandfather was put in a work house as a little boy and he wanted a better life for his children and my father told me about their life and I'm eternally grateful and remember where I come from!!!

delpher32exe they can, although in this context you are looking at recent immigration to North America and currently it’s safe to say most immigrants to North America are of ethnicities other than caucasian. Most caucasian expats to Canada that l know are from Europe, New Zealand and Australia , and they are just really looking for adventures in a new country. They were not escaping economies in shambles, harsh conditions, crisis, war, sheer poverty, or dictatorship. They had opportunities in their country of origin, but chose to live elsewhere. Some want to stay, others move on.
I came here for diversity and freedom of living my life the way I wanted to. I know some Hoa people... Very similar stories to his parents, right down to the hidden jewels and escaping pirates. They're comfortably middle class Americans today, kind of amazing to think about.
It is amazing what people can go through and you simply have no idea. I grew up on the nasty end of some accusations that are ironic if they knew the truth, so I’ve been curious about what stories other people lived. I met a woman who’d lived in seven countries around the world, and my Southern state was her least favorite because of the climate and the people not being very welcoming (it is exceedingly hard for new people to break into the area, and if you’re not white, well, the odds don’t necessarily get better). She’d lived this really interesting life with hardship and trials and amazing experiences and all these cool places... and we we’re just, sitting next to each other for a while. You never know what people are going through.
@@SunflowerSpotlight She chose to stay in a state that wasn't welcoming and she didn't like the weather ? I wonder why? Free health care? Free money? What kept her in a place she didn't like? Fake news!!!
@@SunflowerSpotlight That's very true. In high school I lived in one of the sponsor cities for Viet notables who were evacuated from Saigon in 1973. A child of a military school teacher was my niece's classmate. Our neighbors were working, in America, as dishwashers and lawn maintenance people; in Saigon they had been people of influence. And their lives were still massively better than the boat people; think about the Syrian refugees in Europe, except the Vietnamese boat people were talked about in the news....

I’ve had three Asian friends over the years, one was from Indonesia, one from The Phillipines and one from Thailand and they were all really funny dudes! Genuinely good guys as well!
Not really, I'm white and get all his jokes. My mum always found boyfriends 30 years older than her and life in the 1920s and 30s was pretty harsh too. Like taking you bicycle 40 miles to work and then return in any weather. Poor people could not afford a car. So you easily get the picture of everything was bad. When they then were together with their brothers and sisters you could hear they were as reckless as any teenager is today (just in another way)

On the contrary, many white people had to leave their countries in order to escape poverty and persecution. Many were slaves or indentured servants or had to survive in difficult conditions.

Can relate to him. One time I made the mistake of complaining to my mom how studying for my bachelors is difficult. She then told me if you cant handle school work, how can you handle life? She worked a full time job while getting her degree in accountancy and still get top marks. It was difficult grpwing up because she has high expectations but i realized it's because she was prepraring me for real life.
