This is just Ramy and Marcello doing impressions of their own dads 🤣
And they hit it out of the park! 😂😂😂
Think so lol
Coming from an Egyptian family Ramy got it spot on 😂 then again we all have that dad
My dad was Nigerian and it’s still spot on.
Exactly!!
Marcello is becoming one of my favorite SNL cast members.
I agree. He is one of the best newcomers SNL ever hired!
Mine too. He is cute and funny
He’s so cute! And his reaction to the kiss. 😂😂😂😂
@@christinap-cI was dying laughing...funniest bit on the show in a while.
Like wise
As the daughter of an immigrant dad, I have zero problems with this skit
same 👏❤️
I got screwed, my dad likes the boy better even though he's the dumber of us. I think they share a brain cell
Same 💁🏼♀️
off course, you spend 12000 $ in Sefora,I wouldn't have a problem neither
Honestly, fathers treat us like their little princesses no matter how old, but mothers, oh, mothers, they should do an skit where the mothers favor their sons for being good for nothing lazy bums with no jobs but the daughters do everything right yet they still treat us like Cinderella 😂
‘Parkour-oh, he parks cars, like a valet, that’s good…that’s a good job!’ 👍🏻🤣
That’s a good yob
“Your son is not a friend, he’s property. Would you be friends with a mailbox?” Lmao 🤣 i spit my drink out
😂
i need an immigrant moms talk show immediately
Please add immigrant Asian moms to that lol
Maybe they can bring a couple guests in at once and make sure they’re of different descents
@@josephsmith23127Bowen Yang can play the Asian mom no problem

expeditiously! lol
I showed my Mexican dad this skit right now and he jumped out of his seat when he saw the white dad kiss his son
😂😂😂
Soy una Gringa, y mi también. Why do people kiss their kids on the lips? 🤢
@@ladyraven3418Right!? I physically cringed! It's so disgusting!
@@ladyraven3418 My family didn't but my ex husband's Greek grandfather did with his family.
@@libbyringo8419 whaaaaat we dont do that here tbh. we do lots of kissing but it's cheek-only! i dont participate though
The sweatpants with formal shirts is on point.
and the white socks and pants that don't require a belt - and the lawn chairs with the red container for gasoline in the background - well done -
🤣🤣🤣🤣 my dad’s favorite outfit.
so true omg LOL
So on point!
It's gotta have the oversized collar
That full body shake when he's talking about going to Brooklyn for coffee got me crying with laughter! Perfect!
The "kids so far apart" line went over a lot of peoples heads lol
What did it mean?
@@hitchhiker6407it’s that he said his son is 5 and his daughter is 51 lol
is there some other meaning to it? 🤔
My dad is also Caribbean and my youngest and oldest siblings are 20 something years apart 😅 hopefully there’s no more kids on the way 😫
@@hitchhiker6407 Caribbean men sometimes know to have many children over their lifetime.
They shud make an immigrant mom show, 😂
In their perspective, daughters would take the hit
It would be the same thing
They kinda did it with Pedro Pascal
They did. It’s the one with Pedro Pascal and Marcello.
Yeah, they should! 😂
They did almost the exact opposite, even the same joke about maxing out the credit card, with the Italian-American mom: m.th-cam.com/video/OXq0rM_1VHk/w-d-xo.html
SNL need to keep this skit. They need an African dad next lol
Yes, Nigerian
They could have had Kenan for that, but I will accept him as a Jamaican dad.
@@erikadlloyd5586plssss
@@erikadlloyd5586They did it when Daniel Kaluuya hosted. I keep telling them to bring it back. 😂🤣
Then have Bowen do the Asian dad.
The shaking legs are on point a latino dad thing
I was wondering if that was a conscious choice.
I’m pretty sure they all just have undiagnosed ADHD but if you say that they will say there’s no such thing as ADHD and they are too old for that. 😂
He don't have ADD, he just like to jump
@@justianowski Exactly what my dad would say while driving me to school with the left turn signal turned on the whole ride! 🤣
im crying that’s so on point
Ramy was a great host and this sketch was just smart, relatable, and of course funny. Marcello is a superstar ✨️
The socks & sandals for Baba jan … and the loafers for el Viejo … so perfect!
On my second watch I noticed Ramy’s socks pulled wayyy up. And him scratching his shins excessively. That plus little things like him having to set the shisha hose down in order to pick up the belt really makes it. 👌👌👌
I was waiting for Bowen to come out doing the Asian dad walk with his hands behind the back 😂
That would have been hysterical!
Next time. They also need African and Italian/Sicilian immigrant dad. (Though, Sebastian Maniscalco kind of covers the latter)
Hahahahaaa all Pakistani dads do that.....the stroll in flip flops with hands behind the back 😂
@@adnan9520i mean pakistani are asian
LMAOOO THAT'D BE PERFECT
Generational trauma is bad and all BUT we have to admit it does give us some of the best comedy moments in recent memory
@annacroixx yeah that's what I didn't believe about the sketch. It's usually the other way around. By the way how did your Thesis go
what generational trauma?
@@mishterkhalid3117 shared experience of how we were brought up by our parents and their parents, parents
Lol, yep most of the best comedy lines are based on facts. The amazing thing about comedy is walking that thin line successfully, delivering the punch and educating the audience at the same time. Or to put it simply, facts are what makes it funny cause everyone can relate to it.
“Why have a conversation when you can just hit ‘em with the belt!?” 😅
it's worse when you get both
lectures, threats and walk on eggshells behaving your best and still get belt on bare skin
My whole childhood flashed before my eyes! 😭😭😭
@@ColoringKaria I did laugh at this skit, but I know how it feels to have childhood trauma triggered unexpectedly and I'm sending lots of love to everyone feeling that way as a result of watching the video ❤
@@1midnightfish it still hurts

as an immigrant’s daughter, theres wayyyy too much love and understanding in this skit towards us😂 if i spent $5 he’d lose it😮
MARCELLO IS THE ROOKIE GOAT! 👏🏾 He nails EVERY skit.
That's why he got promoted to the main cast this year, alongside Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker. Yeah, it does come at the cost of getting rid of Punkie Johnson, Molly Kearney, and Chloe Troast, but what are ya gonna do?
As the son of an Arabic and Latin-American Immigrant, I can testify to the veracity of this.
you know you had to double it
And, I can testify to the veracity of seeing a lot of yt parents kissing their children of all ages on the lips, and vehemently defending their inappropriate habit.
@@braddyer91 The kind they showed on the sketch. Did you have problem with what they showed in the sketch, or are you just trying to troll with me?
Really? Do you have a sister? Because women and girls are notoriously subjugated in both cultures. Maybe not in the US, but in general.
@@braddyer91 typically the kind who are super permissive parents, have a Laisser-faire attitude toward discipline, and praise their kids for even the most ordinary and unremarkable actions or behavior.
The immigrants dad talk should be recurring.
I 2nd that
I agree. And whoever is hosting during that episode can play a new type of immigrant Dad
totally agree
Unfortunately SNL hasn’t done Father’s Day since the 70s
Def agree it was hilarious 😂 the Caribbean dad lord sounds familiar lol

😅
No chancla? 😅
As a child of a Tennessee farmer, mine did too.
That brings up bad memories for me.
Same here...dad kept it handy just in case we needed it...rarely used, his look or yell was all that was needed to make us scatter😮
Marcello Hernández is everything right now. i can't get over him, i'm crushing so hard 🥰
This is proof he's only gonna get hotter with age ❤️💜💙
Just go watch the hobbit as a substitute. Frodolito...
Same! haha
He’s ADORABLE and SO Talented!!
Me toooooooo ugh I love this man!!
This is one of the only times I have stayed for the whole skit (thank you attention span) because it was just THAT GOOD. I would LOVE to see more of this! Someone even mentioned doing one with immigrant mothers and that’s honestly a great shout.
Can we stop and give a moment of props to the most well executed piggy back ride I have ever seen from Andrew and Mikey at the end there, like that was just a flawless hop and grab into an exit stage right, like it's a small thing but it was so well executed it made it so much better

😆😆😆😆😆
That part was amazing 😂😂
This show is important for America, we need every ethnicity represented and this should be a recurring skit
Not positively though.
They are not representing in a good way. It starts in a subtle comedy then becomes a joke nationwide. Remember the Raju jokes for Indian boys by Hollywood?

The most accurate thing about this sketch is the fact that Marcello's name is Joaquín Antonio.
Nah, it's the belt and the incessant smoking, just via two different means.
Edit: OOPS, rivaled by the Brady character inappropriately smooching his son in the end. 🙃

I'm hoping they do now that SNL hired Emil Wakim (since he is Middle Eastern, though Wakim is Lebanese, not Egyptian).

Marcello's constant leg shaking is the most realistic thing about this skit😂
Marcello needs to be a permanent cast member ASAP.

HE ISN"T? That's a crime.
Wait he's not?? He will. He's absolutely brilliant.
He is

Best Marcello skit I’ve seen yet! Dude’s been getting better every week.
He’s got so much potential.
Naww, the best one was the Discovery of the New World skit with Bad Bunny and Fred Armisen. But I agree he rules
Oh man. They need to do a Mother’s Day bit.
Marcello is GOLD!
Oh my God, this is really good. I wish that this could be a recurring skit. Would be great to add a character with a better Caribbean accent or use a character that has a west African accent.
This is EXACTLY the chaos I need. Yes. (This could be sitcom, too)
Marcello is so strong in this!! I'm so exciting to get to see more of his acting chops as he spends more time on SNL!!
This is f****** genius. About time they gave Marcelo some rope to create gold. That guy is the best talent on that cast right now.
I ABSOLUTELY agree about Marcello, that is!
"The worst place in the best place." 👍
Ironically, there are tons of Latino and middle eastern immigrants in Brooklyn
@@mmrwyeah I mean it is just ignorant writing that causes jokes to fail to land.
I'm from BK and I rep it to the fullest. But unless you have or had immigrant parents who came to the US or lived in the US when heroin or crack was king, you'll never get this joke. Those were scary ass times.
Marcello is THE BEST reason to go back and start watching SNL
Dude, that kiss was the perfect jump scare. No one saw that coming! Bravo.
The way they are dressed is funnier than anything they could have said. Especially Ramy's slides. 100% accurate
I laughed out loud when they introduced the “sponsor” of the video - the belt! “Available everywhere you get pants!” Lol
I've never been one to share my dreams, but my new dream in life is to write the accompanying "Immigrant Desi Moms (and their deeply disappointing daughters)" version of this sketch. SNL - WE OUT HERE. 🙍🏽♀️
When the first brown woman hosts the show, this should be on it!
@@MC-su3sdHas there really never been a brown female host in all these years?? I'm so surprised but I i guess I shouldn't be 😭

3:18 the belt snap and Ramy's expression was unhinged and terrifying, and i loved it
My father came to the USA at age 32 - a fully formed adult - so this skit is very relatable. I love having an immigrant dad.
Lorne Michaels: plz make this a regular skit!! Glad u guys have continued the "protective mom" one 😂 Great SNL addition to the cast with Marcello!!

I agree that this should become a running sketch.
Having lived in the Middle East for 9 years and been friends with Arab dads, this is 100% accurate…and hilarious! Please do this more!
Why is Marcello still ridiculously attractive in this entire get up
Marcelo’s reaction to that kiss was incredible 😂😂😂😂
This is a skit where I wish Arab Dad from TH-cam had made an appearance, wearing his aviator sunglasses. "My son, Rudy, you know Rudy?..."
Rudy's dad would absolutely watch this show 😂

I actually think Arab Dad got a little cheated by this sketch with a side order of Steven He
This was the funniest SNL sketch in awhile. I laughed out loud many times. One line that isn't getting enough love in the comments was "Your kids are so far apart."
"My son loves Brooklyn. He says baba, I want to live in the worst place in the best place"

Ramy has such a likable personality and such a beautiful soul *which comes through even in sketches like this❗️*
Marcello was really good in this one! I feel like the sketch might not resonate as well w ppl who aren't the kids of immigrant dads lol, but I definitely think it worth becoming a recurring sketch based on Marcello's performance
I'm not immigrant but i'm black and it's pretty close to home, so it was damned funny,
AKA white people won't get it lol But that's the beauty of it. Why not have more sketches that are super relatable to people of color and maybe not to anyone else, right? (The jokes about Brooklyn make it regional too.)
