      What a lovely comment Matt thank you.!!🙏 I’ve had a channel on TH-cam for a number of years. However it was only at the end of 2019 that I decided to put more time into it and video document my trips out. My intention for 2020 was to produce and upload more content but 2020 turned out to be the wrong year to do that for obvious reasons. So at present the channel remains small and relatively undiscovered by the TH-cam algorithm. I’m actually okay with that as the main reason behind my uploads is to give me something to look back at when I reach an age when I’m physically unable to explore the hills and fells, also they may give my family and friends something to play at my funeral😉 If however my videos do help viewers find their way on routes, bring an occasional smile and inspire the viewer to get out and explore the great outdoors then I’m obviously more than happy with that too.!!🙂
      Thank you for watching my video and thank you once again for your lovely comment🙏
      All the very best
      Mike
      Ps... If I could heart your comment twice I would.!!❤️❤️

      Yes Tony definitely give the Peak District a go.!! It’s well worth a number of visits. I’m lucky in the fact that it’s quite local to me. Not as epic as the Lakes or Scotland but still beautiful and worth exploring. Especially around the Edale and Kinder area. Can get extremely busy over a summer weekend however so I would definitely recommend going midweek. Your lucky in the fact that you have it all ahead of you to explore. Enjoy.!!!! Thanks for giving my video a watch it’s very much appreciated and I’m so glad you liked it. Definitely lots more to come this year. Keep safe🙂

    Hi. I stumbled across this video as I’m exploring more of the Peak District in a couple of weeks.
    Your videos are far superior to many I’ve seen and I would happily tune in if you were on the tv!
    So much information and awesome footage. Please post more!! From a Lakes, Yorkshire and Scotland hiker. All the best, Louise 😃

    Wonderful Mam Tor ridge! Super video and drone footage! We've lost count how many times we have hiked this since June! We do the circular walk sometimes from below winnants pass to Loose Hill and back to Castleton via Hope and others, from Hope to Mam Tor and back to Hope via Castleton! We also went over to the lords seat one day! Its amazing on week days when not so busy!

      It’s probably one of the best walks you can do in the area. That’s obviously why it’s so busy. Yea I also go midweek when I’m in that area for the same reasons. It is a wonderful part of the country🙂 Thank for watching the video Maggi, I’m glad it brought back fond memories of your walks in the area🙂

It shows that man made construction is no match for the power of Mother Nature. I hope the weather is kind for you and your daughter during your walk and I’m so glad the video was of help to you. So glad to find your channel - your videos are so relaxing and beautiful to watch! My fiancé and I tried to walk up Mam Tor in November 2016, but the wind was so strong we couldn’t even get up the steps! A fantastic video! I’m glad that I’ve stumbled upon your channel. Your Peak District videos really take me back to my youth when a group of us would regularly jump on a train to Edale and partake in many walks in all weathers. I’ve lived in South Wales for 17 years, now, but am really starting to feel home sick. Thanks again for posting these videos.

Edale is also my normal starting point for my walks too. I’m hoping to get a few more videos done around the area this year. Hope you’re able to pop back up to the Peak District soon so you can ease that home sickness feeling a little bit. Thank you again for watching and for dropping me a comment. It makes it all worthwhile when you receive such nice kind words🙂

      @@FurrychalkbagOutdoors I’ve watched a few more since leaving the above comment. All absolutely brilliant and professionally done. The drone clips are summet else! I was wondering how you manage to film them as you don’t appear to be holding a control, or is there an automatic setting? I’d love to buy a drone and GoPro but I think I need to put in a few more rest days and Sundays, first! 😳

    • @FurrychalkbagOutdoors
      @FurrychalkbagOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mikecrowther8131 I’m so glad you like the ones you’ve seen. I always try to get a little bit of drone footage in the video at some point. Normally towards the end of the walk when the light is better for it. It’s a bit of a pain lugging it along in the pack but if you don’t lug it you don’t get the shot I suppose🤷‍♂️😬😰 If I just want a simple circle of the summit I set it to auto after setting the height and distance and the drone dose it’s own thing, leaving me free to roam around the frame. All other times I fly it manually. Nowadays you get a lot of drone for your money as they are always pushing the technology further and further with each one they produce. If you need any advice on which drone to go for when you have got those rest days and extra Sundays done let me know and I’ll try and steer you in the right direction🙂

      @@FurrychalkbagOutdoors thanks, would you say a beginner could walk from Mam Tor to Hollins Cross?

    • @FurrychalkbagOutdoors
      @FurrychalkbagOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sillwuka There is a National Trust car park near the base of Mam Tor with plenty of parking. The walk to the summit of Mam Tor itself is a very straight forward one, with stone steps most of the way. The climb up these is quite hard on the knees but if you take your time and rest along the way you shouldn’t have a problem. The walk along the ridge to Hollins Cross is a lovely down hill walk with great view’s to the left and right of you. It’s a good little stroll for beginners. Because of this it is very busy at the weekend. Go during the week if you can🙂
