I sort of understand why the staff at Gretsch decided to make the Country Gentlemen a double cut model from watching this video. It had to be visually distinguishable from the Tennessean.
Micheal, I really enjoy when you play each pick up position without distortion. This way we can hear the guitar what it really sounds like. Excellent playing by the way!
FINALLY: one I've got 😀! A '61 gifted to me by a colleague who could no longer play. Exact same spec except some previous joker switched the tuners to rotos. The only thing I've ever had a premonition about - seriously. The case is literally hanging on by a thread, but it's that uber-cool tooled reptile leather sort of like this one with a metal "Gretsch Brooklyn-Chicago" badge on it. Those original Filtertrons are the most insanely, etherealy, beautiful sounding pups I've ever heard - so much depth and dimension.
I could listen to that for hours....... Anyone else with me?????
Lemmo's artistry aside, there's nothing as Heavenly sounding as original a Filtertrons. I've got a '61 of this exact model and it's the most unearthly, multi-dimensional, beautiful tone I've ever heard. The depth of it doesn't even come through here - gotta be in the room with it.
Chet Picks on the Beatles. A standard to this day. Great guitar. safe travels, some historic joints, I mean venues.
With no back cushion I like it already and thanks Michael for playing it acoustically

Beautiful sounding guitar. Especially in the hands of Lemmo. And I always love when you play The Beatles.
Michael, best of luck at Antone's. Spent many nights there in the 80's. Saw SRV, Eric Johnson, T-Birds, Joe Ely, Butch Hancock, Jimmie Dale, Fromholtz, etc. Great BBQ, too.

The Country Gentleman single cut version, like its Gibson variant, are definitively the coolest guitars in the world to me.
Imagine a guy playing a Malcom Young on rhythm, and two guys trying to hog solo on a Horton Heat, & Duane Eddy models. That would be Gretchtra special.
