had all the guitars over the years... cheapo..mid price... .. now age 55 i discovered gretsch....the 2215 with the p90 in the front.... BEST guitar for the money ive ever owned.... i cannot believe the quality for the £.... like a softer epi-lez... more versatile.... great tones ...i wish id discovered gretsch at a much younger age... lovely
Why get a Gibson if you can have a Gretsch that's better in most aspects? Lighter, modern look, better color, better design, sound great, at a quarter of the price? It's a STEAL!!!
Just got turned on to this line via Colin at The Guitaristas. He has the Bigsby but I went looking for standard and found this. Looks like a fantastic price. Best Regards and Best Wishes guys..great work!
Just received my new Gretsch G2655-P90. That's the Streamliner semi-hollow body with the P-90 pickups. Love it. Btw, Gretsch makes cases for both mine and the one that they are featuring here.
I have a 5230 and it is an absolutely fabulous guitar. I periodically get the itch to buy another guitar, go play a few (much more expensive) guitars, and realize I have a ringer in the Gretsch. They should cost twice as much. And I love these P90 models.
who cares what people think of the name or model of guitar you have, and play. As long as you enjoy it that's all that matters! G2215 P90 is the Gretsch that I have my 👁👁 on! Great guitars and review!
I’ve always wanted a Gretsch and was considering this one, ultimately deciding last week on the G2655T P90 center block, which is their smaller body acoustic-electric, which as a mostly acoustic player feels very comfortable. I really loved the sound right away.
For what it's worth, I own 3 Gretsches. You can't go wrong buying one. I originally didn't bother with Gretsch until I got my first one. They are fine instruments
Watching again! Great Cooper. 2nd watching 70 yrs old play 50 years 4 guitars! You know the names!!! Ha! G.F.M.T. Love em Now 5 this one also G. Greatch
I'm really wanting one of these! I have a Gretsch G2655T, which I love. I don't have anything with p90s, and I think this is the solution to that. Classic look, classic sound. Just need to save up my pennies!
I brought my wife that model Gretsch G5210-P90 the color that you was talking about the cream is called Vintage White that is the color i brought and she loves it.
I'm an Epi LP fan, have five in various models, very happy with all. A buddy just got an excellent used Electromatic Jet with a gray flame top, broadtron pickups I think, killer single cut guitar. Has the V-stopbar (kinda weird but cool, like a 1960s hood ornament) and separate bridge. Seeing that and your review here of the G5210-P90 will make me consider a Gretsch Jet type or probably this very model next time if ever I buy another guitar. I like their 2622 semihollow double cut too, 335-like but Gretschy.
My G5230T FL is one of my forever guitars. And Cadillac Green just nails it. The P90s quack a bit like my TV Jones Dynas in my G6120. The Fender team could learn a bit when I think about the Tele that I just returned.
Very Cool, Thankyou. Stunning Guitar. I have 2 Gretsch Electromatics. A G5215 solid body single cut single pickup Rock Machine and a G5248T Chambered body Double Jet with Bigsby. Both are Amazingly built guitars that sound fantastic and are a pleasure to play. Cheers
I have the Chinese T5230 I love the tone of the black faced pickups. The neck is nice aswell. Not crazy about the Bigsby. If I got the model you are reviewing, I would still upgrade the tuners. These are same as mine. The tuners are just okay. I saw some guy bought locking tuners that matched the screw holes perfectly. I love p90's also. I'd like to try a guitar with a p90 and a black face
I kinda like the Bigsby equipped model in Amethyst. If I can find a used one cheap enough I'd like to have a mini-humbucker at the neck and a TV Jones T-Armond at the bridge. Should sound great and cover all the sonic ground that I would ever need.
Theae single-cut Jets for my money are a better bargain than the Epiphones. For one thing it’s got the parent brand and you don’t have put up with a different headstock that screams ‘you bought the cheaper one’, the QC and sound are great, and the colors are cool. For $600 with P90s I’ll take the Gretsch over a $450 Epiphone LP Special or an $1800 Gibson LP Special that only comes on TV Yellow. Largely the same sound and looks more premium.
daggum Cooper!! for 2 mins I lied to myself and I almost went and bought one then I remembered I don't play that good lol GET IT OL SON!! great playing!
The Gretsch Professional Collection is the company’s top-end, flagship line of guitars and basses. Here is where you will find such iconic instruments as the White Falcon, the Country Gentleman and the Duo Jet. The Professional Collection actually subdivides a little further into two more sections: the Player Edition and Vintage Select. Gretsch Pro Collection guitars are all made in Japan. The Custom models are made in USA. Other models are made in Korea, China and Indonesia (most affordable). All guitar reviews must contain details on Year/Make/Model. Yes. It's important to know where the guitars are made.
If you guys ever get a chance, be really cool to hear the Bigsby one. Because I'm thinking of choosing between one of those, and the Epiphone Les Paul Special with the P90s. Very different sounding guitars I know, but P90 and Bigsby is tempting. It's not that much more for the Bigsby, so seems well worth it. And the P90 in cleaner, rolled off volume single-coil sounding mode could probably do some quite nice almost J Mascis Jazzmaster type tones.
Hey Cooper and Chris, hello from Florida. I’ve been learning on acoustic for about 2 years and have been thinking of getting an electric. Just saw this video and really loved this guitar. Would you guys recommend this over a fender American pro 2 strat to start off? Smalls hands here also so the neck profile is throwing me off also. Any advice would be great! Thanks again for the awesome content
I love your videos. Thanks for the great reviews. I also enjoyed your G5220 video. This seems to be an amazing guitar. Can you tell us comparison of this guitar with G5220?
I played the junior with the P90 and the filtertron style pickups. It was like 399 and honestly a super solid guitar. I wanted to buy it but just wasn't sure if I could justify it lol
I liked that guitar. I think the Broadtron pickup in the bridge left a lot to be desired, but the p90 was great. The p90 in the electromatics are new pickups though.
Hey, I grabbed this very green cutie in friday. I love this guitar, absolutely! But: i am experiencing pretty heavy humming in both bridge and neck position. Its already hearable clean. Makes it almost unplayable in drive channel. Mid position almost no issue! Whats wrong? Anyone same experiences or solutions? I am running this guitar through a blackstar HT20 valve combo. Gain 3/10, volume 3/10, master 4/10. Double checked it with a still existing Katana100. Same issue.
The problem is…. Cooper makes every guitar sound sooo good :) Looks cool for $600, only thing I don’t like is the pickguard, I think it would look better with a Les Paul style (more angular / not rounded)
How do you compare this Gretsch to the Yamaha Revstar RSS502T. No local stores have it and seems they are both great. Would like to know your opinions on how they compare.
If they were in the 7-8 lb range and had rosewood fretboards I would buy one. I've looked at a bunch of them and they were all around 8.5 + lbs and had ugly light brown fretboards.
Me likee! Very much!you guys rock thanks for this video! Need some high gain sounds! How will it sound to heavier rock and classic rock with good over tones Not to mention pedal platform!
I have a Jet and I do love the sound…my one complaint is the strap lock. It’s a pain to travel with as you have to unscrew (without loosing the screw) to take the strap off and pack. I have Schaller strap locks on all my guitars so I can change quickly but with my Gretsch I need to keep an additional strap. Not a big deal but a pain. I’m not even sure you change this out? My only complaint though I love the value for money.
So apparently you can't get this in left-handed form? That's disappointing... The price on this guitar is currently $499 -- same price as an Epiphone Les Paul Special I've been looking at recently. And both guitars have the P90 pickups I want. Only this guitar seems to be a better-built guitar than the Epiphone... I'd seriously consider buying it -- only I need a lefty guitar, and Gretsch apparently refuses to make this in left-handed format. 🙁
One thing I got to say you must be a great store to do business with because you put out great material great review so when the time come I'm hopefully getting this greatch imo they have the best neck and the reason Gibson was ahead on the vintage is greatch used I low quality glue in there manufacturing imo opinion if they had used a hight quality and the right glue they would have blown Gibson away again this is my opinion...RocknRollFlat5
You guys are great. I must say. After a few years. Natural, honest, pleasant, informative, professional, funny, non pretentious... Thank you.
I couldn’t agree more! 🎸
Damn right,they're down to earth,what i like.
had all the guitars over the years... cheapo..mid price... .. now age 55 i discovered gretsch....the 2215 with the p90 in the front.... BEST guitar for the money ive ever owned.... i cannot believe the quality for the £.... like a softer epi-lez... more versatile.... great tones ...i wish id discovered gretsch at a much younger age... lovely
Gretsch always delivers great value in build quality, let alone unstoppable tone.
Just got one (Cadillac Green) from my local dealer. It's one of best guitars for fit and finish at any price. Absolute stunner.
Why get a Gibson if you can have a Gretsch that's better in most aspects? Lighter, modern look, better color, better design, sound great, at a quarter of the price? It's a STEAL!!!
Damn right
There’s nothing like the sound of a Gretsch
Basically an Epiphone class Gretsch, not Gibson. Nevertheless sounds good.
Cooper is a solid player, enables us to really get a sense of this guitar. Many thanks.
Just got turned on to this line via Colin at The Guitaristas. He has the Bigsby but I went looking for standard and found this. Looks like a fantastic price. Best Regards and Best Wishes guys..great work!
Thanks for the clean tone demo….can actually hear the guitar instead of mindless noise
And thank you for pointing this out.
Everything sounds exactly the same if enough distortion is added.
You prefer that girly clean stuff hah?

Picked up a used G2623-P90 for a song last week, super impressed with the playability and sound
Just received my new Gretsch G2655-P90. That's the Streamliner semi-hollow body with the P-90 pickups. Love it. Btw, Gretsch makes cases for both mine and the one that they are featuring here.
Beautiful guitar. Love that color and pickguard
Gretsch has some great alternatives for players looking for something different but also familiar. Unwise to sleep on them.
I have a 5222 & a 2655p-90
Absolutely the best value for the money
& incredibly fun to play 👍👍
I have a 5230 and it is an absolutely fabulous guitar. I periodically get the itch to buy another guitar, go play a few (much more expensive) guitars, and realize I have a ringer in the Gretsch. They should cost twice as much. And I love these P90 models.
They shouldn't, they should cost this much for the benefit of mankund :).
Just bought a white G5410T Rat Rod. But this is firmly on my radar in the T model in purple.
Just bought this in single barrel burst thanks to this video.
Both Cooper and myself really enjoyed that. Sound really nice.
who cares what people think of the name or model of guitar you have, and play. As long as you enjoy it that's all that matters! G2215 P90 is the Gretsch that I have my 👁👁 on! Great guitars and review!
I just bought 1 yesterday in green. Sounds and Plays really good. And the build is perfect.
@Michel Weedfald Congratulations 👏 I hope you enjoy it! I'm going to get that G2215 P90 soon too!
@@michelweedfald1657 Just bought mine tonight.

I have this guitar also, my first P90 guitar I love it, under six pounds is a real plus.
2655 is an awesome sounding guitar.
These have some really cool colors. There's also a version with a bigsby.
For what it's worth, I own 3 Gretsches. You can't go wrong buying one. I originally didn't bother with Gretsch until I got my first one. They are fine instruments

I'm coming to this vid a year late, but still very helpful, thanks for posting it! 👍👍👍
I brought my wife that model Gretsch G5210-P90 the color that you was talking about the cream is called Vintage White that is the color i brought and she loves it.
Aw Man !! that's A Rock Star Guitar !! Love to see it in action !! 🤘

I have one , and seven other guitars, but my Gretsch is my main love at the moment. Killer from day one.
My G5230T FL is one of my forever guitars. And Cadillac Green just nails it. The P90s quack a bit like my TV Jones Dynas in my G6120. The Fender team could learn a bit when I think about the Tele that I just returned.

Great video, Cooper was awsome as usual. Coopers sidekick seems cool
Looks like we have winner 🥇 love ❤️ it
I have the Chinese T5230 I love the tone of the black faced pickups. The neck is nice aswell. Not crazy about the Bigsby. If I got the model you are reviewing, I would still upgrade the tuners. I love the wrap around bridge on these, but also love the unique V stop bar on the other version (that I have).
I really like my 5210t. Very nice action out of the box. I like it a little better then my les paul as far as playability.
I kinda like the Bigsby equipped model in Amethyst. If I can find a used one cheap enough I'd like to have a mini-humbucker at the neck and a TV Jones T-Armond at the bridge. Should sound great and cover all the sonic ground that I would ever need.

Gretsch makes cool guitars. Cool AF. Im on the verge on panic buying that Bigsby Rancher before they stop making them:)
That's an Ugly guitar
daggum Cooper!! for 2 mins I lied to myself and I almost went and bought one then I remembered I don't play that good lol GET IT OL SON!! great playing!
P90s sound nice with some dirt on them too
Can’t wait for my Amethyst purple one to arrive.

Pretty sure collectors do their research outside of TH-cam reviews
wow that sounds amazing 👏 thanks for sharing!
this sounds so good. something ive noticed about every good sounding guitar is someone who knows how to play it lol
This video was the decisive factor in purchasing this model. My question would be what amp or software did you use to create this great sound?
Great review, thanks. What was that you were playing at 6:42 it sounded great as well as the playing. Cheers
I have not even seen the video and gave a LIKE!!
I have this model and it's great. High quality for a lower price.
This model vs the Gretsch G5220.. which one would you choose?
If you guys ever get a chance, be really cool to hear the Bigsby one. Because I'm thinking of choosing between one of those, and the Epiphone Les Paul Special with the P90s. I really like this model!
What amp would go good with the Gretsch G5210
I love your videos. Thanks for the great reviews. I also enjoyed your G5220 video. This seems to be an amazing guitar. Can you tell us comparison of this guitar with G5220?
The G5220 has blacktop broadtron humbuckers and has a thick paf sound with single coil brightness
nice pickin Coop !!
*I had no idea Zak Wylde was in San Antonio.*
Gretsch has always used a 12" radius. Looks like a great guitar. What is the bridge made of?
Electromatics are electromagic! honestly the best value hands down in the market!
Just got the same guitar. Sounds so good!
Forget the guitar!! How do I get to play like Cooper!!! What a great guitar player.
That’s the same colour as my wedding suit so I obviously have to get one now 😮
Is it a CorTec (CORT) build??? Avg weight??? Chambered? Nice playing Cooper!!!
Linda guitarra
Nice.
If we are ignoring aesthetics, any reason why I shouldn’t pick this over a 50’s p-90 les paul?
I played the junior with the P90 and the filtertron style pickups. It was like 399 and honestly a super solid guitar. I wanted to buy it but just wasn't sure if I could justify it lol
I liked that guitar. I think the Broadtron pickup in the bridge left a lot to be desired, but the p90 was great. The p90 in the electromatics are new pickups though.
I Want a LEFTY with Bigsby in THAT COLOUR!!!! GREEN is My FAVORITE COLOUR!!!❤

Looks cool for $600, only thing I don’t like is the pickguard, I think it would look better with a Les Paul style (more angular / not rounded)
I tend agree with you! But .. maybe that might also look cool without the pickguard.
You’ve got a million and 1 liks that sound great
How do you compare this Gretsch to the Yamaha Revstar RSS502T. No local stores have it and seems they are both great. Would like to know your opinions on how they compare.
We’re these pickups adjusted at all?
Got this today.
How will it sound to heavier rock and classic rock with good over tones
Not to mention pedal platform!
How would you rate this guitar against the Epiphone Les Paul?
Their Cadillac green is awesome, wish they used that on the Bigsby version
And I like the Amethyst (purple metallic) version color wise, but would rather have the fixed bridge than the Bigsby that it comes with.
Players would wear the electromatic badge with pride.
Put this one amongst your top tier deliveries gents.
Are the p90’s actually dynasonics ??
Looks cool.
I need to come to the store. Its been awhile.
Oh yes! I like this guitar. 👌
Stay tuned for the Bixby 😂... Nailed it!
Compare the Larry Carlton L7v to the Gretsch G5210 P90 Please.
I have a Jet and I do love the sound…my one complaint is the strap lock. It’s a pain to travel with as you have to unscrew (without loosing the screw) to take the strap off and pack. Still amateurs but happy
Wow Cooper! That great! Love to do it😊😅

Are the p90s hum-cancelling in the middle position? Thx
Nashville, Texas.🔥
Playing starts at 6:12
Does the headstock have the same angle as a Gibson ?
I want that guitar

Don't know if I want this or the g5220 in Bristol fog more? How do I choose? P90 vs broadtron
I got both :P
You should use a looper😊
Can it be gotten in Orange color??? Full size bourns pots and electronics??? ¡¥¡
6:12 guitar playing
Does anybody know what magnets are in these pickups? Ceramic or alnico?
That is a sexy looking guitar
Shawn Phillips meets Rick Harrison. HAHAHA
