    Really enjoyed this and I like the concept. Thanks for showing us your van Carl. One comment I do have, please don’t think I’m being too critical, it’s more of an observation, when you ask your guest a question, please give them time to answer and let them talk, please don’t answer your own question, it’ll come with experience and your enthusiasm will still come through. Great video and I’ll look forward to the next one. 👍

      Thanks for the tip, we did a few of these takes twice because we had a problem with the audio the first time so maybe that's why.

    We bought dehumidifier bags after seeing a recommendation by Campervanya Sue , they're brilliant, no condensation since we started using them, even on the inside of our roof in the morning, having slept in the roof bed of our Bilbo's VW conversion 😊

    Hi thanks another great video. You mentioned inventions, as I have a pop top on my t6 conversion I modified a spring loaded telescopic shower curtain rail with some 3d printed ends to fit into the pop top metal work so I could hang a cab curtain with doubles as my projector screen.

    What about painting the awning box, with good car paint or acrylics, it would take a while to carefully mask off the van and working bits. But if it bothers you? Enough to make you think of spending more on a newblack one. Can you remove the outer box frame to make it easier to paint, you are still going to see little flashes of white interior workings but when done (I think) it will all look good.

    Great video, would it possible to have a bit detail about the Solar panel setup?
    My big concern is the expanding coil wire from the panels into the van. Does it rattle whilst travelling?
    I connected a solar panel on my previous two self van conversions but they were fixed roof not pop tops.

      Hi, I have absolutely no wind noise from my panels or the cable flapping about. The cable is not thin and flimsy, it’s designed to take mains voltage / currents and once it recoils, it always returns to the correct length, I may be able to talk Will into doing a better video on the solar panels if there is interest

    Here in Africa we would never lower the suspension. You can only get suspension rise kits here, nothing to drop suspension.These are such great 4x4’s, you would really be limiting where you can go camping.

    I purchased the screen and brackets but please don't make my mistake and buy the Anker Nebula 2, rather than a Max. Although the Nebula 2 is a newer model, it does NOT have horizontal keystone functionality. I have had to send it back and order the Max - one bonus is that it is cheaper :)

    Thanks Will and Carl. Such a great idea to feature others' vans. Shame we couldn't actually see the dock but it sounded a great idea. Loved the lowered suspension. Just a question about that - does it adversely affect any future MOT? My nephew always raises his again just for the MOT and then lowers it again! Does he need to do that? Anyway thanks again. Have ordered some dehum sachets - will save me lugging my big one in and out of the van at the end of a holiday!!.
    Keep 'em coming.

      Hi, I am glad you enjoyed the video, all credit to Will, he's a great Director and Produce and also makes great coffee. No issue with MOT, I have never had to touch mine at all. If you look closely, the dock is in the video (bottom right hand corner), in an earlier part of the video. It was a very bright day, so you couldn't quite see it perched on top of the fridge when we was talking about it. Maybe there is another Vlog in the making there Will ? !

      I don’t have any issues with mine being lowered going for MOT but the place I go has a couple of bays, one with a raised ramp and one with a pit. I think it would struggle to get onto the ramp without catching the front spoiler and splitter.

    Really interesting video (as all your videos are). Thank you. Would it be possible to ask Carl where he ordered his Jingyang solar panels from and whether they are semi flexible? I assume he made the frame from aluminium to fit the panels to the roof rails. I am wanting to price buying the solar system components separately rather than buy a kit. Many thanks

    Another angle, as we obviously all like seeing other's Cali's, is for you to chat to owners about their journey to Cali's... What have they had before, why did they change, what do they hanker after / miss now they have the Cali. You could start by interviewing yourselves 😅

    I'd been meaning to suggest a vid on the lowering/changing the suspension. I know it's a bit of a contentious issue tho! I'd had a couple of T6s before getting a Cali 6.1 and I was shocked at the handling. OH was not happy when I said it needed to get fixed with it being brand new. But it's been great and I'm so glad we did sort it. Not lowered tho, took Steve's advice on that as we weren't bothered by aesthics, only comfort. :-)

    • @grahams3417
      @grahams3417 ปีที่แล้ว

      My Cali 6.1 is lowered about 50mm on coilovers and on 20” wheels and the ride is transformed. It rides and drives like a well planted, but supple car. Plus it looks epic in my view 😂

    • @Jay685
      @Jay685 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, drives great, didn't need lowering to achieve that according to Steve @CRS Performance. 👌. We have the 16 in standard wheels still as I don't want to be divorced. 😁
