@@feliz5919 I figured they meant translate from the English song to Dutch. The English lyrics is “loathing” which the Dutch song translated to “walging”. Although “afschuw” is technically closer in meaning to “loathing” than “walging” is. So I figured they meant it like that. And besides they said that they WOULD have translated with “afschuw”. They're not saying that they translated it. They're saying that they would have used “afschuw” if they had been the ones to translate the song. That's all.
@Deipatrous Dat komt op meerdere plekken uiteindelijk niet helemaal lekker uit. 'Ik walg van jou' kan niet 'ik verafschuw jou' worden, want dat komt qua timing niet lekker uit. Plus dat je dan op verscheidene plekken rijmwoorden moet vervangen (zoals walging > ding > dwing > zonsverduistering). En 'verschrikkelijke walging' klinkt naar mijn mening lekkerder dan 'verschrikkelijke afschuw'.
