Thank you for mentioning not to do currency conversion. Although it is a natural habit, people must stop the urge to do it.

    • @escapingtheordinarywithkan2353

Hey, yeah I agree. I was doing the same but with time the habit does disappear! Hope people watching the video understand! :D

@@escapingtheordinarywithkan2353 People can look at it this way - McDonalds in the US & Canada is considered cheap for a family. Now compare that with a family taking their kids to a McDonalds in India! It's an event!

Hello thanks for the video: for a family of4 in Halifax, do you think below make sense??
    Rent 1800
    Food 1000
    2 phones and net 250
    Medical insurance 300
    2 Car insurance 400
    2 cars monthly 800
    Fuel 2 cars 400
    Utilities 250
    Restaurants 300
    Cloth200

      @escapingtheordinarywithkan2353  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hello, I feel its a good estimate with a lot of breathing space. I would recommend to buy or bring clothes from your home country so I doubt you would spend $200 in clothing. (But sure can keep it)
For food 1000 is over estimate, I feel you would stay below it until you are eating out as well (counted in 300 - restaurants)
      Otherwise looks good! :)
      Good luck!

You could easily live very well in a nice suburb in Vancouver or Victoria with this budget.
My friend lives in White Rock, and pays 1550 a month for rent in an older spacious two bedroom unit that includes heat, TV cable, but not electricity, which the electric bill is about $45 every two months. He eats organic and pays about 325 a month in groceries, $70 for supplementary health insurance, but car insurance is very high even though he has the 43% discount from ICBC, about $235 a month.

Dartmouth is a good area, its quite developing now. But if student is interested in staying in Halifax, he/she can and take 1 bus for commute, not that far.

Currently I am in Mississauga and family of 4(2 adults + 2 school going kids). Can you suggest what is current housing rent going on ? Also, which site we need to prefer for rentals ?? Much thanks in advance & stay healthy..

Hello!! Do you think that moving to NS and buying a house (no mortgage) with an income of roughly $70,000 a yr for a family of 3 is enough to live a "comfortable" life?
Thank you in advance for your opinion!!

Utilities are very expensive so can put up the cost of renting.
