You missed rental insurance :) Great video by the way. I met someone yesterday and they came from Montreal . Apparently they mentioned that grocery is almost 50% higher in Nova Scotia compared to Montreal.

Tenant insurance isn’t mandatory for all properties so I didn’t include it, but good point! Whoa!!! 50% higher in Nova Scotia is mind boggling!

It was pretty accurate about living expenses in Halifax. However, about the work hours or hourly pay rate to make the money, you need to consider the income tax too. If a student works 20 hours per week for 20.76 dollars per hour, the net income after tax deduction will be roughly 1570 dollars per month. This means the student either needs to find a job with a higher pay rate of get financial aid from family or other resources.

Totally agreed, and that's why the text says, 'after tax deductions,' which means they should receive $20.76 per hour after the taxes have been deducted.

You don't have to pay tax on a base amount of income, however you may be deducted initially and then get a refund if you don't make much as a part time worker.

Too bad everyone on a student visa from these places is breaking the law and are actually not going to class and just working the moment they get a sin.
