I've made an updated video for defense generals. It includes the updated Richard, Isaac Brock, and better spreadsheets. th-cam.com/video/FuK0Lag-vv4/w-d-xo.html
Realistically you need 6 Gold Flat HP refines, and similar in Attack Flat refines, if you want your T1 Cav to tank hits from bigger castles. This leaves very little to buff your archers and or seige in your proposed defence.
Yeah I've used an ascended Boudica with Koryo and all flats and Mounted HP flats on a level 15 thebes. I do pretty well. I'm k39 m41 4.5b 700m t1's small layers and 2 of each March.
Boa noite, existe algum video seu que faça comparação deste generais de parede com Isaac Brock? Eu tenho Isaac como principal e Takenaka como assistente, voçê pode fazer um breve comentario sobre essa dupla? Obrigado
I don't have a video on Brock, but he's in the updated spreadsheets if u want to look at those. He's basically a better Leonidas, so yes that's a great combo
Someone in my alliance pointed out that atk needs to be weighed more heavily in these comparisons because we can get bulk from duty general ascensions but it's really hard to get atk out of duty general ascensions. This is quite relevant for Yi Sun-Sin (who, by the way, used to be in relics). His raw number is on the low side but it balances heavily toward atk. I recommend Trajan over Soult for attacking because after we add the ground atk book, Trajan actually has the better skill. Not necessarily better buffs when leading because his atk stat is really low, but Soult has a pretty wretched ascension by my standards so I wouldn't want to lead with him either. On another note, Red Evony compared Takenaka to other generals as an assistant and my impression was that he's actually worse than those who entered before him such as Leo III.
Will Dewey & Trojan work better than Dewey & Hung? I only have Trojan and still waiting on Roland lol. But I’m a free player can’t afford to spend on Generals at this time. Thanks again and keep up the great content
If you have some red stars on Trajan you can use him as the main general with Dewey assistant. I used that for a while and it worked for me. Ideally you could invest to get Dewey fully ascended, but that would be expensive
@@Maath_Faseli for Dewey 3 red star are fine? Also I have Mathis in the Tavern 60 million gold. Is he worth it? Also what gear should my wall generals have?
@@BOBSo1o if your Dewey is 3 red stars he should be your main general, use the best gear u have, for checking specific generals in the tavern check out my spreadsheets
Hi, what about Mason Weaver? I’m using Boudica plus her, with t1 meat shield… but I’m seriously thinking to pass to Taylor like main. Can I ask you to explain well that part about Taylor? I’m not sure to have understood: with a meat shield and Taylor, to protect my archers, should I build also a siege t1 wall or what?
So the part about Taylor is based on the way the game mechanics work. I recommend this video by Derrick Defies to explain the mechanics that allow this to work th-cam.com/video/zaM5ajYqudE/w-d-xo.html Basically, with a T1 mounted wall, enemy ground, mounted, and archers will only attack the T1 mounted once your ground are dead. Enemy siege will target your ranged as soon as they can, but once they can target your T1 siege wall they will leave your archers alone. Mason isn't good on the wall, here stats are low. If you wanted to go all in on ranged defense Minamoto, Louis IX, or Subutai are better as defense assistants, but I wouldn't recommend that. to assist Taylor I would recommend Takenaka if you can get him, Yodo-dono to buff ranged, Leo III to buff siege, or William Marshal for both. With all that said, it's worth considering Richard the Lionheart since he got a rework. He's very balanced and has high stats. Hope this helps
@@Maath_Faseli thank you very much. Last time I tryed it against an expert enemy that used a siege march, t11 focused. His target was my unghosted siege with not good buffs. I won the exchange but not with a big difference. About Mason I was using her, with divine beast, because considering full stats and specialities buffs, like assistant, seems the best ranged+sieged option. Evonywiki consider her like the third best overall after Takenaka and Marshall with skin. I also have some doubts about refinements. If flat mounted HP are sure, what about attack and defense? They should flat buff the meat shield or better if % buff archers? Concluding, about Richard the Lioneheart… I just discovered that is a good free option 🙈
@@EvonyOSM The thing with Mason is that she isn't a defense general, if you're using a non defense general normally it's to go all in. Right now I'm using Trajan/Sweyn until I can fully ascend Richard. If you're just looking for someone to do both ranged/siege until you get Leo or Marshal then then she's a valid choice. Refines are an interesting topic, it really depends on the type of defense you want to use. So a true T1 mounted wall needs to do two things, kill any ground/mounted march in as few rounds as possible, and soak any ranged march. To kill the ground/mounted you can either refine for attack or build a crazy amount of T1s, like 500M. To stop ranged you can either refine HP or build a crazy amount. Keep in mind the way you refine will affect your power exchange against either march. With the way the mechanics work if you have a huge T1 wall it's better to refine for HP, since you will receive attacks from archers no matter how many you build. If you want to refine for archer attack then it isn't really a true T1 wall, it's an archer defense with T1 wall. That means your T1 wall will take more damage so you need to kill them quick, if your archers aren't strong enough you'll lose the power exchange. With this strategy you'll be vulnerable to a strong ground march. The way I recommend using Taylor is in a true T1 wall. Since % buffs are tiny for T1s, I would rather buff my archers with % buffs from my general and keep them safe. That way I can still buff my T1 mounted with flat refiles and still buff other troops with my general. Of course there are other strategies for defense, like the well rounded with Richard or a siege defense.
@@Maath_Faseli oh, nice! Thank you, so I just need to swipe gears from Boudica to new general. I have already flat refined all pieces with 3 gold flat mounted buff. Like numbers I’m using 300M t1 and 100M t2 right now, with 8 sub generals full geared. I just need to improve all buffs reachable by a k36 Just a note about Mason, of course I meant like assistant. (In my case to work with Boudica). Best player on my server suggested to use Dewey, but Mason is definitely his best version excluding the ascension buffs. 🙈 140% total buff, second only to Marshal with skin (160%). Leo and Marshall without skin reach both about the half total buff. So, to conclude, my next thought I guess should be compare: 1) the % buff contribute of my new potential general (Taylor) with my actual assistant (Mason) that is buffing my archers and siege 2) the basic stats of my new potential general (Taylor) with my actual main general (Boudica). Probably I should wait a bit, like you are doing for Richard, considering my 9-stars boudica and my potential taylor with only 6-stars
:UPDATE: Richard the Lionheart has had ascension added. This brings his new totals to 25 Atk, 50 Def, 55 HP to each troop type for 5 Red stars. His new total stats is 2486. He is still terrible as an assistant, and his specialties are still terrible, but if you fully ascend him he is now a viable defense for free to play. He'll be easier to ascend than Dewey or Taylor, and is the most balanced defense for a F2P player at the moment. His attack buff is still Pretty low, but he'll still be good.
Thanks for fixing this. Late game Lionheart is excellent for low spenders. Top 2-3 siege buffs once ascended and you don’t have to waste runes spec’ing him out. Pair him with a solid siege assistant and throw a few fully ascended Catherine’s on subs and you are well on your way to a solid siege defense.
@@DerrickDefies Well she's deficiently better than she was lol. The update to her gave her 35 atk, 40 def, 35hp, at full ascension. That calculates to 2320 total buff and puts her with the rest of the free generals. She's also only in the great general chest, so much harder to ascend than Richard. The only use case I could see for her is if you really want that 400% protection from troop upkeep from her final specialty and base skill. Personally I wish they had doubled down on her RSS production with her updated skill and given us a reason to farm her.
@@Maath_Faseli I think the whole point of Richard/Shajar is that you don't have to do the final specs - i.e. you should competely ignore Shajar's extra protection from troop upkeep. That way, you get to do a final spec instead on a duty gen or sub gen. If you spend a lot of money then yeah, Leo, Taylor, etc. are better but I think the bet is that Richard/Shajar + a duty/sub gen with a complete final spec is better than Taylor (fully specced) and no final spec on the duty/sub gen. Some of the final specs on those other gens are really good - like Ashoka's is a flat 20% buff to ranged attack across the board everywhere.
Hi sir. Need a recommendation based off your extensive knowledge. Long story short, Zach is maxed specialties, archer layers are 1 million from t1-t14 and I will build more eventually. How is minamoto a good wall assistant? His skill and final special need dragon. Wouldn't both of those not activate as assistant? Or are archer backups that bad that Mina is really the best we can get?
yes he needs a dragon, but as an assistant you can still give him a dragon to activate the skill, but the dragon won't be active. In terms of raw numbers Minomoto gives you the most for your archers; however, that's all he gives and I would recommend a more well rounded assistant.
