  • Week 4 of college football brought some big wins for The North and on this instant reaction show, Michigan’s win over USC and Utah’s win over Oklahoma State are at the front of the minds of Doug Lesmerises and Bill Landis.
Plus West Virginia’s comeback win against Kansas, Rutgers hanging on against Virginia Tech and some blowouts for Ohio State, Penn State, Pitt, Iowa State and Cincinnati.
Thanks for joining Kings of the North for KOTN Late Knight.

I'm a Penn State fan, who attended the Michigan-USC game in the Big House. It was a great game for the new look Big 10, who will have a nice mix of different football approaches and playing styles that contrast with players' diverse skill sets. I can't wait to watch Penn State play USC in the LA Coliseum in three weeks since I think Penn State could run for over 250 to 300 yards. USC needs to get bigger, deeper, and meaner on the defensive line in order to succeed in the Big 10, which was exposed by Michigan. USC is lucky that Wisconsin isn't their 2011 version since they would maul them with their grinding running game.

If Quinshon was getting the work load some of the other top backs get his numbers would be superior. Probably trey as well, but judkins run ability is insane. Kinda reminds me of nick chubb

Big Ten is flat out deep this year. Top heavy at the very top (OSU, some bias there too) but you have 7-8 more high quality teams I fear may cannibalize each other. Then after those you still have programs like Wisconsin, Washington, Michigan State..excited for this new Big Ten man
Edit: made this before they said the exact same thing on the pod lol

When Davis Warren was named starter, 2021 was sort of the goal. That didn't work. Now with Orji, there is no comp unless you go back to Bo with Dennis Franklin or something. You're right that what this did is buy us time and now we have to figure out how to get some kind of passing threat somehow someway into the game. Loveland returning (fingers crossed) would help but that's not the full answer. I do think this new approach makes 9 wins possible again, but far from assured. Indiana and Illinois are no joke. MSU, who knows. Michigan can't be sure they will always break off three 50 yard runs and a pick 6. But if this does result in 8 or 9 wins with non-competitive games against Oregon and OSU, of course that will be acceptable. That was always going to be acceptable.

Doug, please quit trying to entertain me and stick to football analysis. Volunteer at a local theater if you feel the need to perform
