Lyrics:
I don't need you to worry for me 'cause I'm alright
I don't want you to tell me it's time to come home
I don't care what you say anymore, this is my life
Go ahead with your own life, leave me alone

Look that crowd!!! No phones. Just living the moment ❤
there was no phone back then😂

Now at feb 6 / 2023
I went to his (probably the last) concert at Tokyo yesterday. This song was the opening song, and soon after he started playing the prelude, the audience got pumped up! It was one of the greatest night in my life and their lives who were there. I’ll never forget the moment of the live forever.
What year?
I bet liberty wasn't drummer this time was it
His band here is absolutely outstanding
They are the absolute best 👌 x

Agreed
The drummer IS the heartbeat of the band..
his current band is amazing but is still missing and will ALWAYS be missing the power of Liberty DeVitto!!
Absolutely true ….
É fantástico o baterista , ele se sobressai
Every drummer is supposed to be the heartbeat of every band they play in.
…was the heartbeat of the band.
DEC 2023, Billy Joel is still a genius and forever will be
It is a crying shame...that you can only upvote this once!
It's a shame whatever happened between him and Liberty. Liberty is a beast and carries so many of Billy's songs.
They reconciled a few years ago, fortunately.
One of the greatest entertainers of all time
Billy Joel is a musical genius
i agree
Concordo, ele é genial
Indeed
That Beethoven Ode to Joy beginning transition to the song is Amazing.
Matthew Robinson OT$ MATTHEW
Amazing thats write...
Brilliant!
Indeed!!!
Love it! Get outta my face! Oh to have been there!!!!
One of the all time great artists, and in my opinion still an underrated song. One of the best in the 70s
Who ever hears this song has a great taste of music.
Yes 🤗
I have seen him live 26 times in 18 years. I am 45 years old and I cry like a little kid every time.
Ha ha ha...Yeah, man.
@@marciagowe3493 😘😀😘🙏
Thank you! 😀😀🙏🙏
Best live version on TH-cam. Absolutely bloody fantastic 👍
Try the one from the long island Its mind blowing good not that this song isnt already great.
The drummer always has the best seat in the house. He gets to view it in 360 degrees. Great opening.
He his vocals were totally peaked. He didn't have a low range at all. He was hitting those high B's effortlessly
This song is dedicated to everyone who lost a loved one. God bless. "I'm calling out your name tonight" by Richie Levoi th-cam.com/video/JSbGGiSe3S8/w-d-xo.html
Man.
Yeah 1993/94 was peak Billy Joel. He developed an almost God-like stage presence in the 90s too.
top form indeed
This song of BJ usually perks my morning blues
Love this❤ in 2024!
あたりまえやないかい!
It never gets old!❤
Fantastic music and voice. I love all your songs for me you are one of the best musicians.😍🎤👏👏👏👏❤️
What a drummer, brilliant band.
Yes , Liberty DeVitto , great drummer an musician, really added to the music .
Yes the drummer is great where is he now
Billy is lucky to have Mark Rivera for so long; he's an underrated and amazing player...
Amazing moment! Everyone clapping, fully present, no smartphones in sight.
The drummer played 28 years with Billy Joel and he's the father of Torrey de Vitto from Chicago Med. But the drumstick flying of his hands... there's no price
I saw that, came here to see who else did as well.
If you play you will lose some along the way! :)
Did he just lose his grip or was it broke / breaking and he just tossed it?
Can u guys gib timestamp?
Loses it at.09
First thing I noticed was the crowd: lots of arms clapping and absolutely no phones. God, I miss those days.
I listen to Heavy Metal but I love Billy Joel.
My mom took me to the billy Joel concert back in September and it was by far the best concert I’ve ever seen. Keep in mind I am an 18 year old girl.
I’m so lucky to have seen him in person and I will definitely never take that for granted
Lucky girl
Thank you for being a wonderful fan. I appreciate your comment. I hope you are having a good day? Thank you so much for the love and support,God bless you💕💘🤩❤❤
@@billyjoel4332 any chance of coming to Fargo ND again ? I would love to see you again.
Saw him awhile back in Honolulu. Best concert ever. He's a gift!
I’m 50 and I’ve never seen him live. LUCKY YOU!! Any chance of coming to Philadelphia or New York City?
When I used to play out on drums people would always say “you hit those drums like your mad at them” this guy plays like that. I always said you gotta play it like you mean it!! Of course different situations call for different dynamics(like bridge in this song) but the rest of the time…hit em hard!! I love this drummer. Fun to watch and yes it takes a toll on your joints.
You gotta know Josh Dun if you like drums, it will be worth it to watch just like this one!
That's the legendary Liberty Devitto. He is a heavy player but he never gets in the way of the vocal and always plays for the song.
Very well written 👏
Yea Baby!
So true Rick.. I love watching this dude pound those drums
Love this! Everyone is at the top of their game! Billy Joel is a musical genius!
中学生のころ良く毎日聴いていた。武道館まで彼を見に行ったものだ。
こうして大人になった今でも、名曲だなとしみじみ思う。
この曲の歌詞のように自分が納得できる人生を送らないと。

One of the all time great intros to a song. And I love how Billy has altered it over the years. He incorporates the unofficial Australian National Anthem (Waltzing Matilda) into it when he plays here.
Hi,this evening,2 u. Repomidnight.
Yes,Truuly Love this Song from Billy. And lot Others, too👍😎🎤🎹🎵
Love How He Plays the Piano,Excellent,& Sings awsum! Liked him Since SchoolDaze. & Still Do. He's a Pretty COOL. Guy.👍😎🎵
Cool!
I saw a video where he played the Notre Dame fight song in the intro in concert there. Crowd loved it!
I think the unofficial national anthem of Australia is Great Southern land or Your the voice.
Ode to joy by beethoven here
Billy Joel>>>>>today’s music
Best version of a great song.. went to see Billy at the Palace of Auburn Hills 2 nights in a row on this tour.
Liberty hits those drums with perfection
That Ray Charles vibe from 4:03-4:16 was 🔥🔥
Bata pa lang ako music na ang hilig ko alam mona ang maganda lalo na may lahi din kami mahilig sa music kapatid ko sumasali sa amateur singing contest palagi panalo sa mga sinasalihan.
This band is tight!
やっぱりビリージョエルはいいですね。来年の東京ドーム公演楽しみです😊
Great band. Looks and sounds like T Bone Wolk on bass. Un-sung in this performance and you realise the role each instrument is having. And vocal wow.
That’s whatcha call “pulling a crowd” 🇦🇺
I like how Billy Joel performs My Life a little slower live
0:00 to 1:10 is such an epic start to a song
I was 7 years old, and living in Avon Connecticut when this song came out. I vividly remember sitting next to my mother in her car, driving on the backroads of central Connecticut, and listening to this song. Billy Joel is a living legend and a national treasure.
wow, thank you so much for your love
ベリーグットでしょうね⁉️
I lived right next door in Simsbury! I totally remember EVERYONE getting this album for Christmas! Still have my original copy!
That drum set sounds sooo good. The quality of the sound is just awesome!
Whaaaaaat? We got to be 2 different species. I could not hate that drums sound more. Flashy, thin, wimpy, hard whip sound. Song’s great though.
drummer. good.
It has an awesome drummer playing them
Bosom Buddies! Love Billy Joel!
What a bloody fantastic version of this song!!
I don't know why Billy's songs makes me teary eyed with happiness.
This is about as good as music gets.
2025 Billie Joel forever
When you get tired of singing the same song every night, I guess you have to change it a bit. Still a good version.
제 나이 58세 10~20대 듣던 올팝

빌리조엘한데 빠져들구~ 굿굿굿!!! ^^
Billy has written some of the best, funnest music to sing. I could listen to his music and love it as long as I’m alive and truly feel blessed that I was growing up when it was originally released and performed. I’ll always love his music. Bless you Billy Joel.
🙌💌
I don’t care it’s my life . Billy Joel . Still rocks in 2023
He's still selling out tickets now in 2024¾👍
This was the song that started my passion for billy Joel's music that was 42 years ago and I've been a huge fan since
Welcome to the club.....brought up with the music from my mum who's has since passed. But I am a lifelong fan.....

This drummer is CRAZY !! WOW !! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
LIBERTYYYYYY
He HATES this song, FYI. That's a true definition of a pro. I don't think there is a drummer that was tailored made for an artist writings than Libery was for Billy. #beastmode
G E. N. I. U. S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This man just loves what he does and aren't we lucky lucky lucky to be alive to listen to him.
I am so glad I found this gem of a video thanks to TH-cam. I hope Billy Joel lives at least a hundred years and keeps singing too. I was fortunate to have seen him live at the Madison Square Garden some years ago and I hope to see him next year if the pandemic fears die down and all travel gets normalised. As Tony Bennett called him once.. Billy is a poet and a performer and a philosopher.
2020 and I am still with Billy Joel
2022!
3:20 Love how he adlibs the melody on the third round. Top-notch pro.
The bassline is sick🔥🔥🔥
Yeah it's a different take on Doug Stegmeyer's original baseline. Tom Wolk was a great bassist. Sadly at this point Doug had already passed away and Tom did several years ago around age 50 I think.
T-BONE WOLK! Known for being Hall & Oates' bassist at the height of their run
dude that drummer fuckin kills it
I'd bet he died after that show… or at least he lose both arms for sure XD
#SODoughtedPlzThinkOfSomethingReal
Marc Mateos he did lose a pair of drumsticks if you watch carefully at 0:09
I know right
That’s Liberty DeVito. Animal from The Muppets was based on him. Absolute legend. Paws Billy’s drummer for around 30 years.
that bass coming in at 1:16... gets me
Been digging Billy for 40 years. And had not idea TBone ever toured with him.
One of the greatest moments in his music
Señores y señoras.....el maestro Billy Joel !!!!
Billy Joel.... is there anyone more hip than him with a piano in front of him... Wow!!!
This is so good on so many levels I don't know where to begin.
@kumitag
I'll get you started...the bass is awesome! I recommend listening with in ear headphones 🎧
Yeah, this is just perfection.... it's not like: "meh...do they really need that horn player?". = YESSIR!!! 🎺
This Is the gratest song like allí the songs of Billy Joel
My first billy concert. One of many. Thank you daddy for buying the stranger. 52nd Street and the nylon curtain and making a cassette of songs from those albums. I wasn’t even born when the first two came out and was a year old when the nylon curtain came out but my daddy made me a billy Joel fan for life. He then bought the greatest hits vol 1 2 and 3 on cd. The ironic thing his now I listen to him way more than my dad does. I don’t remember the last time he listened to him.
My FIRST concert: Billy Joel and Elton John: April 1995 Joe Robbie Stadium 🏟
Since then it's been Jimmy Buffett ×3... Brad Pasley.. James Taylor.. Jimmy Buffett
Same for me. Born in 78. Started with Innocent Man and now I know his entire catalog.
LIB-ER-TY DE-VI-TTO!!!
This and I Go to Extremes is even better live than on the record. I love both songs!
THE BASS IS T-BONE WOLK!!
Saw Billy last week in Hyde park in London and the man hasn’t lost a step. The absolute best
I love how he bangs the drums ,have a safe 2021 :)
The song that hooked me on to Billy Joel, just love the beat and lyrics, such a fun song to sing-a-long with.
You had to be a big shot, didn’t ya? You had to open up your mouth
A great and fantastic singer singing a classic song . Masterpiece . 👏
I love the drum solo Liberty Devitto did here!!!🤗
I love playing bass on this song
I'm 50 now, have been a Billy Joel fan since I was 15. And My Life has always been my favourite number.
Three years ago, I started writing and performing stand-up comedy. And I just realised today that the first stanza of the song says, 'Now he gives them a stand-up routine in LA' ❤️🙂
I am 60 and have been a fan since I was 17. Incredible composer and musicians.
1:10 *ALL* the players are into it..!
4:36 REALLY into it!
Bass is the back bone of this song,
T-Bone ...
Incredible voice and performer
yep I still love him after like 40 years....been to see him 4 times, my most favorite artist!
My FAVORITE VERSION of this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree this one is amazing. But there all good
The one from "Live from Long Island" is the absolute best version, IMO. Pure energy, he literally jumps while at the piano
@@voligio Not even close to this one here. You need to develop your ears.
@@voligio Agreed!!! faster Tempo!!!
The original is the best!

I feel you, my friend!!! This is my favorite video....I'm a Bass player, and this guy is GREAT!!!
@@ironwood9 drums, piano, and violn. I had his piano music when I was 8. I learned a lot through decades of coming back to attempt that book. My piano teacher told me to be patient. You don't realize how much goes into a competition and how much you don't know when your that young. Love the music.
0:58 the moment of pure appreciation Billy has for his drummer Liberty at that moment,
I discovered this two weeks ago, late Feb 2023... It's my most favorite song the bass player is just killer
Listening in 2021 in the U.K. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
The great Mark Rivera, always giving his best!!
Glad I got to see Bill a couple of times in his prime. But then again.....will Bill ever be out of his prime?
好きな歌なので聴けてよかったです!ありがとうございます。
0:31 "T-Bone," Billy's bassist, does this amazing riff
This song is all on the guy who is playing bass guitar❤
Looks like the drummer from the Stranger Album who got let go from the band was brought back for this tour. Loved his sound.
So good. Joel's songs, especially this one, are the soundtrack of my teens.
One of d greatest American artist, poet,& songwriter
Love this song Billy Joel and band are superb
Bro's lookin like Michael Keaton playing the piano. Can't unsee this.
This was around xmas i take it re the beginning of the track??
Three Kings of Orient are...
Frankfurt June 1994 - keyboards David Rosenthal, lead guitar Tommy Byrnes,
bass (the late great) Tom [T-Bone] Wolk, guitar Crystal Taliefero, saxophone Mark Rivera, drums Liberty DeVitto and of course the maestro.
Thank you, you saved me asking.
