I can’t thank you enough for this video. Since I’m doing drive aways, I know I need to get one but didn’t know where to start. Thank you so much!
Thank you! I'm glad/ hope it helped
I've gone through 3 Plantronics Voyager 5200s in a decade. The last one bought in 2019 is still going strong. The over-ear rubber on the previous one broke in 2 sections. These headsets are quite
comfortable. I'm getting a Poly Voyager 5200 now.
I love them but can’t get one to last over a year!
I love my blue parrot C400-xt. I can pair to 2 devices at once and the noise-cancelling is awesome!
I'll have to check that one out,i haven't seen it yet. thank you for your comment!
Good video for newbies to watch who ain’t bought a set yet. Thanks
Thank you! I figured while i had them available might as well make a video just to show the differences of how they sound
Thanks for the review! Great job explaining the differences. I wouldn't know where to start.
Thank you!
I had four defective plantronics voyager 5220 headsets from Best Buy last year and I would return them with in a week because the call would muffle out and then disconnect. I gave up on them for around 6 months. I recently gave them a try again and it looks like they figured out the kink and my voyager 5220 is working out great. I’m in sales and when I walk outside and it’s windy my clients can’t tell the difference.
Really good video. Keep up the good work
Thank ya sir
Good video cfarmer, I was looking at headsets today when I was on break at the truck stop, I’ll be picking one up eventually.
Thank you! I thought it might be helpful if someone was looking
@@CFarmer definitely helpful, will definitely watch the video again before I make my decision.
The muffing portion is tricky they all seem to do it. Im on my 3rd plantronics and considering going with the blue Parrot. I believe if the muffling problem happens the trick is to swing the boom completly to the other aide and use the other ear. The boom raised up tries to go into "in person" mode and stop the audio and mute and such. Swinging the boom fully in 1 direction then fully back to the existing position should stop all those issues. Firmware doesn't help that out.
Thank you, you did one helluva job on this comparison! Everything you said is accurate and true and I appreciate that. Blue Parrot's M300-XT battery is better, but the Plantronics Voyager 5200 is much better quality wise all around. Thanks for helping me decide!
Thank you for the comment! I appriciate it. Glad it helped
One weakness of the V5200 is relative water resistance, but I am trying some Lexuma water resistance as soon as I get it in.
Thanks for the review, I have had three or four Voyager Legend and after about a year, they all broke where they go over my ear. The Voyager is the best for performance, they just aren't durable. I just purchased the Blue Parrot m300 xl and I think it's comparable to the Plantronics, just hope it's more durable.
Thank you, I hope it does you a great job
@@CFarmer I just sent the Blue Parrot back and ordered a Plantronics 5200 with 3yr. warranty. The controls on the Blue Parrot was not working according to the instructions and no voice answer option. I really wanted it to work out, but it just fell so short of the Plantronics in operating convenience and sound quality.
Glad you got the 3 year warranty. I didn't notice, is that standard now or is it a 3rd party warranty?
@@CFarmer It's a third party, 3.yr from date of purchase, $7.99 so technically it's a two-year after factory warranty. From what I understand, the third-party warranty is handled through Amazon.
That should work out pretty good
Did I miss where you tried talking with the BlueParrott in the wind? My experience with the Voyager 5200 is that it's not very good in the wind, so your experience was interesting.
Hello sir, great review, this is exactly the decision I had to make. If I may ask, what's your story, how'd you get into army transport? I'm a college student with a great respect for those of you all in transport fields, keeping the country running.
Also, I think Blue Parrott released a new version, the SE. Might be worth checking out
Since I'm getting my CDL's I've got to get one
They help
That big one at the end sounded the best! But I have an iPhone and enjoy my AirPod Pros. But great review!
Thank you, I've never tried Air Pods but I've talked to you and other people that have them and they do a great job
Great for music, horrible for video calls. Hate watching interviews when people use them
Thank you for the review very helpfull.
Thank you, I'm glad it helped
I should have watched your video before picking up the blue parrot lol, i wanted something for conference calls on the go that had an easy to access mute button. My current headset is the Shokz Opencomm, which is bone conducting (so no ear obstructions) with a boom mic. The mute on it is hard to access and very distracting while on a call but is otherwise fantastic on the road!
My problem with the 5200 I’ve only have 1 good one every one I’ve had since when it gets alittle chilly outside nobody can hear me.
I was thinking about trying out the BlueParrott as I’m a fan of the over the head models but now I’m reluctant lol
I love the over the head blue Parrots but not the little one. I haven't had the 5100 in cold weather yet
@@CFarmer I just reordered a 5200 so hopefully it treats me better lol. I just need something smaller then the over the head model for around town use
I hope you have good luck with it.
Have you tried the C400-xt bule parrot?
I haven't tried that one but I'm going to look it up
On the V5200, the red button is also your mute button while you're on the phone.
Thank you, I didn't know that the red button was also the mute button. I'm going to have to try that. I'm still using this one and still like it. i do wish the battery life was a little longer than 6 hours but other than that its my go to headset
I just lost my Voyager headset after many years of great service but the boom had become loose and always flopped down rather than being able to set it to a specific position. Do you now if the boom can be tightened if it becomes loose?
I've never thought about it. I don't see an adjustment that's noticeable but I'll look more when i have time
Your wind noise reduction is going to be better on the V5200 (Voyager).
Agree the blue parrot 350 is awesome.
Good job on comparison
I've tried them all. if you ever get new one amazon has one that's really awesome is called conambo 5.1v it has a lifetime warranty & only $28
I'll check it out, thank you
DO NOT BUY PLANTRONICS! Just look at all the bad reviews yourself. Every single one of them have the same problem. Sound is echoing/ under water sounding. Noise canceling struggles. Boom stick has some sort of short that answers call automatically and pauses podcasts every 30 seconds. My mic will make my voice either muffled or super distant to the people I talk to about every hour.
A lady bought 5 Plantronics for her 5 office workers. Every single device had the same exact damn issues as listed above.
Dang, that's pretty bad. I must have got a good one. Still using this one. No complaints
This might be due to the HP purchase of Plantronics a while ago.
B550 Xt best one
That type of headphone makes hurts my ear after few hours wearing it . I like the sound and everything on plantronics but it’s not comfortable .
I can see that. It hasn't bothered me yet but i can definitely see where it could
